Out of curiosity I've decided to drive CD 843 DMU with EDB off and found out, that switch on the driver desk's right console, which marked as "Electrodynamic brake", doesn't do anything with EDB, is it realistic or another issue?
Platform: PS5 Pro This route crosses the line from video game DLC into a work of art, and it's truly a masterpiece. I'm only 9/63 through the journey so far, and I can't say enough good things about this route. Both locomotives are a pleasure to drive. The scenery is immaculate. The vibes while driving up and down the mountains are some of the best in the game. I particularly enjoyed the lengthy "Swimsuit Weather" scenario that I completed over the weekend. This is up there with Mittenwaldbahn as one of the best (if not the best) routes in the game. I consider this route to be a must-own for any TSW player. Thank you to the development team for bringing this masterful experience to TSW!
On PS5 it seems that the Livery Substitution is broken in Timetable mode. 750s always spawn in Green livery without the yellow stripe. 843 always spawns in Red-Beige with old headlights style. Passenger wagons also only in Red-Beige livery. Same goes for the EA Freight wagons, only the brown coloured are spawning now, the green and blue one cant be seen. Would be great to get all liveries back.
There is an answer to this on the VS Discord: "Přepínač na pravé straně pouze omezuje záporný tah na 30 %. pro vypnutí edb je potřeba dojít na 1. stanoviště a vypnout ho na zadní stěně" - The switch on the right console is just for limiting EDB power to 30 %, for turning EDB off you need to go to the1st cab and turn it off on the back wall. I just got the ZKI2 Shortcircuit in bogie 2 circuit error message and my service is ruined. The official manual only lists this error, but says nothing about how to fix it. This the number one most stupid thing that happened to me ever since I play TSW since 2021.
You just fried the electric motor. There was a short circuit in the electric motor armature. That's why it says maximum power 80%. All that's left is to take the motor out of service and crawl to the depot.
Where does it say that? Haven't seen anything in the manual about that. This fault seems to be completely random. If it was me who caused it, I would have to cause it again after restarting the service and driving the train pretty much exactly the same way. My first error right after departing Liberec was something about battery not charging, then some other issue preventing dynamic braking and than in the next station near Jablonec all traction gone with no way to fix it. I mean there's realistic and there's entertaining. In my opinion receiving this fault might be realistic, but it's definitelly not entertaining for me as a player. As is not being forced to wait & do nothing for 20-40 minutes in Turnov.
This inscription can be found on the driver's control panel on the left side. It says "!!! To eliminate jumps on TM, do not exceed 80% PT !!!". Power car 843 is an expert train. This electric motor failure is caused by an electric current jump on the motor armature. It is mainly caused by carbon dust pollution. You need to fully concentrate on driving the train and monitoring the instruments. For me, it is the best locomotive in the game.
OK, thanks for the explanation. Interestingly I already did drive a couple of services, of course using full power. and nothing ever happened. If it happens again, is there a way to do something? Like at least turn off some circuit breaker and finish the service, maybe even with half the power?
The 843 railcar has two engines. For this problem, it will be enough to turn off the engine where the fault is found. The Engine Control switch is used for this. This controls both engines. Then turn off the dynamic brakes. They will not work with one engine. And continue with one engine.
