Layer Shapes Question

Ok guys.......

If a shape that came with a particular route is used in a reskin and that reskin is shared etc.... does anyone then using that reskin see the shape used if they don't own that route themselves?

Example....

The Preston to Crewe comes with the BR double arrows shape. So if that is added to a loco livery (Lets say for example the GWE HST) if someone downloads that reskin but doesn't have the Preston to Crewe route will the BR double arrow still appear on the reskin or will it be missing from the reskin when they use it?


I seem to remember layer shapes from routes used in reskins can be seen by all but just wanted to double check.

As far as I can tell, logos that are used in-game do not necessarily show up in Livery Designer, both the BR arrow and the BR crest being cases in point.
I remember someone adding the BR arrow unofficially to the Liv Des, which was great, but it wouldn't show up on others downloads.
What annoys me is the lack of such logos in-game, but if you need a guitar or a full drum kit on your loco, no problem!

 

As per my original question this was regarding the Livery Designer shapes that came with the Crewe to Preston route (BR double arrows, a couple of depot stickers, CED depot plaques and Tinsley snail. These are all shapes that can be added as layers in LD.


Anyway I have now answered the question with the help of another forum user who subscribed and used my 37424 reskin (which uses the BR double arrow shape from Crewe to Preston) without any issues even though they do not own the Crewe to Preston route only the ROG 37 which i used as the model for the reskin.

 

OK, how do I access these livery shapes? They are not showing in my Livery Designer.

 

Just same as you would add any shape it obviously depends how many add-ons you have that have also added shapes etc…… as to how far down they are within all the shapes you have to pick from.

And they are Tier1 mastery items so you need unlock them from in the route first.

 

Ah right, I don't tend to bother with Mastery items. Might have to get into it.

 

Most routes have shapes like this as tier1 and are usually just done by doing a couple of timetable runs or a couple of scenarios etc…..

 

Thanks for your help with the layers WaveyDavey, I have them now. Can only hope the ED Scottie Dog and other Scottish emblems arrive in the same way!
