I have a question that maybe someone that owns the Expert 101 and this route can answer for me.

If you own the Expert 101, does it substitute in timetable services in Journey mode?

cwf.green thought it would but then Lukas said in the Q&A that it wouldn't, so I'm not 100% sure which is the correct answer.

This certainly does not come across as the level of quality expected in a £30 release. Some of the issues being described should have been caught by the developers’ own internal snagging, let alone before submission to DTG’s erratic and “wave it through” QA!

I just started the timetable service in the second journey chapter, and it spawned me in the Expert BR 101. Which is a good thing. If this is consistently applied throughout all chapters, I might actually finish it :)

That's what I wanted to know. Thanks.

I also wouldn't play all the journey with the normal 101. There is a higher chance I will get this route at some point now.

Good morning, I don't see the freight wagons on the "Unusual Freight" scenario! Can anyone help me? Thanks.

Hmm, I'll check this out. Haven't consciously noticed this myself yet, could have happened already :)

Bought, tried, refunded. Nice route but the run in the ICE is way too short, trip seems over just after it started. FPS bad along the route (~45 fps with 9800X3D+RTX4090) Desperately needs to go to Munchen, hopefully one day it will. I would pay more for the full length route provided the numerous QA and performance issues are resolved, with some new rolling stock rather than recycled. Probably asking a lot, but high speed routes need more km.

Is there really no Mastery for this railroad?

    Isn't that twice the length?
I can't see them doubling the route in the future.
Another route perhaps yes but I don't see them doubling it.

Not only twice the length but way more stations, a long four track section, and a massive terminus with a long 10-track approach and an underground section.

Which (personal taste) is great. Better than sitting for an hour, only acknowledging SIFA. I like this type of sevices, and the mix with the Münex, s Bahn and freight services.

This one made me laugh:D But if you do the maths of this route (like 80km with 300kph) this is simply what you get (and, honestly, could have been clear before a refund;))! And I am still loving it. And this is coming from a guy who usually likes it slow, long and steady - thank you very much, as I really like my long fright runs (have done all fright services on KWG - no joke).

I really like the representation of the landscape. I only wish they could populate the motorway more, it’s just too quite…

It is a nice route and I could probably live with the short high-speed stints, but when I took into consideration the other shortcomings I just could not justify 35.99€. If it eventually pops up heavily discounted in the future I may give it another go, hopefully it will have a patch or two by then.

To me the best high speed routes are those that combine that with regular running on more mixed lines. This seems to provide that - a bit at least - so I am tempted by that, but waiting due to the nervousness that comes with new releases, and a growing wishlist (within and without TSW).

    I agree about the wishlist…
I’m no particular order we have:
    Transport Fever 3
    Coaches for ETS2.
    Iceland for ETS2.
    Cars for ATS.
    Whatever is next for SimRail.
Brocken Mountain for TSC in the next sale.
I want to give Running Train another try now I have a better GPU.
The London add on for The Bus, though that is muted by the fact there will be no London buses coming with the add on.
There’s a new Eastern European tram sim about to hit early access.
And last but not least, DTG’s competition with their own DLC - TSW7 and its route pack.

With Steam Gift Cards now rapidly vanishing from UK supermarkets I am carefully managing my hobby spend so as not to incur the displeasure of my wife!

    You’re not the only one.
Whenever I buy a new DLC, the first thing I do is check which freight trains I can drive.
And actually, I usually go straight on to drive my first freight train, and even after that I generally much prefer driving freight trains to passenger trains.

Half an hour with an ICE at full speed sounds like the sweet spot, if you ask me :) Will probably pick this one up later.

Confirmed. After third time audible SIFA, you have to reset the throttle to regain traction. Really curious: is this prototypical?

the succession, as far as I perceived it in this DLC with ICE3 was - first an icon, then first audible warning, then second audible warning... here if you acknowledge, you should still be clear, but somewhere between second and third audible warning, throttle locks... then third warning and if you fail to acknowledge that, half a second or second after a Zw. ensues

difference between this one and others so far (havent really tried with 101 Expert, so no idea when it does what with Sifa except Zw.) is that in most cases, it only punishes you if you fail to acknowledge third audible warning... here it starts punishing you after second, and applies brakes after third

as I said, this is with new ICE3... havent tried expert 101, which I bet is prototypical for that loco... like if it only applies Zw. after which warning (just know that Zw. in that case usually means stop :D )

It’s not just the lack of mastery; there has been absolutely no reaction since the release.
