Class 442 Reskins

So thee are a lot of freeware reskins for the class 442 Wessex and they all require the AP class 442 sound pack... Well now the AP sound pack has been discontinued that basically makes it impossible to get the reskins.

And it doesn't look like AP will be making a Class 442 enhancement pack anytime soon so those reskins are basically useless now

 

For new players they are useless. For players who bought the AP 442 sound pack in the past they still have a use.

It's frustrating, but there's nothing to be done about it.

 

It might be worth looking at the bin files for these reskins.
It might be possible to change the files so it points at the default units.

Where did you find these reskins?

 

Alan Thompson and Vulcan production. Plus even if I wanted any reskins I still can't because I can't get the sound pack anymore

You don't need the Sound Pack for a Repaint - you edit the Bin files so it uses the old sounds

 

Well the Vulcan production reskin let's you change the destination board which you can't do on the default class 442

 

Oh yea bit of an off topic thing but I was able to get the class 755 to work

 

What has that to do with the sound the train makes?

 

You could still have the reskins without the new sounds

In the downloaded .BIN files Change the references to the AP pack back to the Default sounds

 

tbh at this rate i think somebody should just make a patch for this...
it would be so much easier for everyone to be able to make use of the 442 without needing to learn coding.
