DTG Alex DTG JD Morning guys just wondering why on early access console players can't get all of there content to take full advantage of the new routes. If been asked please feel free to delete this post thanks.
I suppose it's the same reasons as last year with TSW6 and before with TSW5. Though I forgot them since the issue doesn't condern me as a PC player. It was something platform specific, that's for sure. Epic was affected even worse by the back catalogue last year.
I believe it was something like this: Content from previous versions of TSW can't be released on console before the actual release date of the new version. If you buy the ultimate edition, you will get access to certain previous content during early access as it is bundled with the game but everything else cannot be released before the official date and time.
On PlayStation, Xbox, and Epic most of the set up for compatible content has to be done by the platform holder with our guidance (a huge amount of work). Whereas Steam allows us to do most of the set up on our end which is quicker.
I pre purchased the standard version for ps5 will they offer a pre download option so i can download the game content ahead so i can play the game on the 15th ..when it is unlocked
When can we get details of what layers are required for each route? Will there be layer bundle offers prior to release as part of the preorder?
You'll find a price breakdown in the FAQ. Update: The Ultimate Edition is now visible again on Steam.
hey DTG-Chris can you take a look on peninsula corridor not showing as owned on steam TSW7 dlcs page?
Aside from the free base game, will I have the option of purchasing only the UK route and 333? It's not showing that option on the PS Store. (But is on the Xbox store.)
I mean it’s packs that cost 65+ pounds so you really should be putting the effort since we console players have to spend launch week re-download everything very slowly
its really not that much of. hassle to download content. Its much better to have their resources directed elsewhere.
Am I right in saying that last time the layers did come on early access day even on PS5? If not, I'll do what I did before, pre-order for the discount then wait until the compatible content is available #gottahavemylayers
it’s always annoying that we can’t access our collections in the first 5 days, which in many cases would improve the core routes even more. and i’m not buying the reasoning of ‘that’s not the actual release date’- the so called early access date essentially is the release date- if anything, standard gets late access, not the other way around. it’s made all the more frustrating by the fact that once that 5 day period does end, you have the joy of redownloading hundreds of gigabytes worth of dlc, and for some people they could be looking at a week between ‘early’ access and having their entire library. maybe im just being unreasonable, but after all these years i would like to think dtg have been looking at better options than the current process
I get the frustration, but i think the honest truth is that DTG are far too insignificant to force Sony or Microsoft's hand on stuff like this. Rockstar, etc get to have whatever they want because they sell orders of magnitude more than anything DTG makes. I guess it's up to each player to decide if paying extra for early access is worth it on their platform. For me, on Steam, it is, but if i was playing on console I would have second thoughts for sure.
