Why was the decision made to reuse the class 66 for the 100th time instead of making a new freight loco for this route?

Was this route always intended for the main release or did it get promoted into that position due to circumstances? It seems more like a project which should have gone out as the Spring release similar to Glossop or Goblin?

What is really so iconic about this route over doing one of the many requested stretches of main line - GEML, more Western Region, more ECML, North Wales Coast or a bit more LUL (Metropolitan Line)? What lights the LAMPOIL?

Can you confirm to what extent Rivet have been involved in making the route and trains and what oversight has been employed to ensure they don't make a fudge of it? In particular audio, we do not want the 331 and 333 having the Roswell UFO traction audio of the 484 and dreadful 385?

Why will the Standard Edition cost £42 as you are selling the route and 333 separately rather than the normal £35 for a two train route DLC?

Was any thought given towards continuing north on to the Settle & Carlisle line (which would have burnt the LAMPOIL much brighter)?

Will there be any Railtours on the route?

    • When the 158 releases will that fill in as AI at Leeds in place of 150, 170 and 195?
    • Was there any thought to taking the 801 or 802 to make unbranded TPE services at Leeds

    which locomotive would be appropriate?
The Class 66 is responsible for the majority of freight flow on this route.

Class 60. An updated 66, GBRF liveried and with different lighting clusters?

My question, will the 333 have the "Welcome to the Ilkley Train" recordings that are specific to these trains, rather than the usual TrainFX ones Northern use more broadly?

Will the Class 90 and later the Class 70 available on this route?

They've confirmed the 70 will, but I don't think the 90 would be seen here IRL. Might work for some AI at Leeds or a railtour but that's not prototypical - they haven't been seen regularly at Leeds since they occasionally filled in for GNER and its successors in the pre-Azuma days.

The price is £45 because you get all 3 routes with the standard. I should imagine they'll sell the routes individually at £29.99 + £14.99 for the deluxe loco once the 15th Sept comes around

My maths referred to buying the Leeds route and 333 when they go on sale separately on release date, rather than the Standard three route pack which as you say is £45, which I'm not really complaining about. It's the fact you would normally get this as a two train route for £34.99... And if it is £14.99 for the 333 that makes the differential even worse!

That’s not a thing. There are no £34.99 routes. There is no standard price for a “two train route” and hardly any DTG routes have ever come with two new trains. That’s usually reserved for the first of a kind type routes, like the first steam route or the first Dutch route which need two new trains. If there’s anything standard about DTG routes is they only come with one new train. They are famous for it.

In response to someone asking on discord Alex confirmed that the routes will be £32.99 and the deluxe locos will be £14.99.

Anyway, since this is a Q&A thread: Will the 331 layer onto any other routes such as MAC?

Will the 331 be able to substitute for the 323 on other Northern routes?

That's a price rise incoming then. Price for a normal route was up to now £29.99. (Or less).

DTG in danger of pricing themselves out of the market.

Fair enough. I wouldn't put it past them pricing that as such.

Had another thought; will the new Shipley depot that is being built be included, or will it be the previous scrap yard & siding (Crossleys)

One more from me… Can you please show the inner city part of the route at night? If you watch programmes like Verdee on BBC, the Leeds/Bradford conurbation is awash with building, street and neon lights creating a diaphanous veil of light across the whole area? How far away from the tracks have you modelled the built up area effects?

I'm just hoping that the new routes are not just pitch black at night so you cant see anything.

Do the station announcements correctly say "platform x for the LNER Azuma service to London Kings Cross"?

Will we see the class 333 as AI at the current Doncaster station on the ECML: Peterborough to Doncaster?

Another one from me. You have remained tight lipped about any (if at all) changes to the save game going into TSW7. Given this is a network route which really lends itself to ongoing or emergent gameplay, can you please state if the known bug with objective and timetable progress not saving on a chained run have finally been fixed?

Is this preview stream on console to show them that all these silly remarks about how the game won't work on console and the console releases are an afterthought with features missing from the PC version (again) are unfounded and you do want them to have the best product they can from release day?

Will anything be in the place of Northern 158s until they are released?

Such as EMR 158s for example.

Will the class 66 for this route be yet another variant eating up memory or will it be an older design?

The lighting system that Jetwash has made is for PC only. With a vague "promise" us Console players may get it at some point.

    So it's not unfounded.

Still, it'd be nice to see how TSW7 runs on console just over a week and a half away from it's release...

The previews so far show the 333 with the recently fitted TrainFX External/Internal displays so I would assume it has those style announcements rather than the older ones now consigned to history.

There's a live stream apparently on Wednesday showing off all 3 routes on console.

It won't be 100% what people get on 15th though as the layers will be the cause of any blurring etc

This is the thing. They'll say it's a preview stream, but all they'll have is an XBox Series X devkit with just the TSW7 standard stuff running on it so it'll still be a very controlled environment. Do a stream one night on XBox Series S, and show some older routes running as well so we can see the layering at work etc. The next night do the same thing on a standard PS5. If the games run alright on them, then they should run alright on Series X and PS5 pro, unless there are other technical factors at work. Why would a PS5 player who's been around since, say, TSW3 on PS4 be swayed to buy TSW7 because of a preview stream on XBox? Instead the ones who are on the fence about it will likely wait a week or two after launch and base it off of the experiences of other forum users. There are three core routes and three platforms the game is launching on. Why couldn't they just do a stream of a route each to a platform each? Or even get some preview videos from each platform made from in game footage tk show what it runs like? Doesn't have to be a full live stream. Just a 20 or so minute video with some commentary explaining what's happening. Or even make a few of them and showcase them during a livestream and do a live commentary of them.

They already confirmed it will be a consumer xbox (I don't remember if they specified S or X). And that they'll showcase each route properly. Instead of just commenting on the q&a threads you can also watch the streams since they talked about it on both and will probably also mention it on the 3rd one. so mark september 9th in your callendar

Remember, they can set their Series X dev kit to act like a customer console...
