For clarification, does the remaster merge the Heavy Freight pack into the main pack, or do you still need to buy it separately?

The 40 does need better sounds, including the distinctive field diverter shift and that frantic EE roar at full bore.

Nevermind looks like the Heavy Haul pack is also getting an upgrade - great news.

Just to set expectations, the Remaster will be Free
Class 37 pack that adds much more gameplay - paid

No new sounds are coming to existing content.

there will be more information in due course - Scenery in places has been completely rebuilt in Huddersfield, Batley, Dewsbury, others are being rebuilt but more details in future roadmaps in the weeks and months to come.

Thanks for the update. I appreciate you might not be able to answer this, but will we see a new soundpack introduced for the class 37?

I'm not going to complain about it being free and I'll certainly purchase the class 37 pack.

Is the route still set in 1983? Be well worth bringing forward a couple of years, to get all the 80s library in…

Glad the era isn't changing, it's currently the only pure BR blue era route we have at the moment (even then the first signs of change were already apparent such as Railfreight Grey & Large logo). Hopefully the signalling gets a look in too, there's some parts which don't quite work. Although updating lighting alone will make this classic playable.

I have to say I'm quite looking forward to this.
NTP, alongside WSR, was the first add-on I bought after buying TSW4 (both were included in a buy one get one free add on sale if I recall), so to see it be updated is pretty exciting

Looking forward to this. Always had a soft spot for NTP, but sadly the route does show its age by now.

Is this gonna be like you only get the new timetable if you buy the new dlc for it. Like they did with ECW.

Just caught up with the DTG direct yesterday and this announcement was by far the best, I've been waiting years for this to be updated, I gave up hope, so to hear this annoucement made my year!

Can't wait for this, will be keeping a very close eye on progress

Indeed, although I do love the clang of the AWS bell on older stock it is nice to have something without safety systems.

I noticed last time I drove NTP a Shap intercity liveried class 47 turned up at Huddersfield, is there anyway to stock this happening, apart from removing the relevant PAK files?

It isn't a deal breaker but is immersion breaking for the period.

We're a year away from Pacers in 1983. I still think it could be interesting to do a reverse "Diesel Legends" set at the turn of the 90s with Pacers and Sprinters.
Will the 108 from the Carlisle line layer in at all?

Be interesting what happens with the HST (for Leeds AI), hopefully a reskinned BR Blue HST is included, though as stated before with no sound changes, will be weird not having the screaming Valenta soundset

Never really liked the trackwork and station model of Leeds station on NTP. Something always felt a bit off.
Maybe it's the passing of time but we loved going to Leeds in the late 70s to late 80s and when I got NTP on TSW the recreation never felt anywhere near realistic enough.
    Am I the only one?

That said I'm glad to see this route getting some love. While I appreciate very little could be done about Leeds (it definitely needs some litter!), everything else looks great.

I look forward to getting the remaster and hopefully get myself a nice new 37.

I honestly thought they'd hit up TVL first given they seem to want to give the ECML the WCML treatment soon. But, there's till time for that too I suppose. Then again, looking at a map.... Leeds is awfully close to Doncaster so.... it makes sense if you want to connect them up in a future DLC connecting to that part of the existing ECML route.
With Kings Cross connecting at Petersborough, then moving north from Doncaster (and a side jaunt to Leeds) then you WOULD want to update NTP to take advantage of that.

I can see the logic behind it. It would be a bad look to have your next DLC hook to an old route that hasn't been upgraded to modern standards of lighting and such.

As such, I'd expect the next ECML to be Doncaster to Darlington with a Leeds branch off to the West. That's about 100km of main route, with a few more of the side route... that sounds about like one standard route distance. Makes a nice coherent corridor to work with.

I suppose you could in theory go to Newcastle but that's a bit of extra distance so that's pushing it I think. Depends on who is building it I suppose. The question would be... would that be built by JT?
I say that because NTP and TVL are 1980s, and JT are 1980s creators. Would make sense to link two 80s routes with an 80s route.

That also allows people to have both "old" and "new" ECML stock, with the "old" stuff running north from Doncaster and the "new" stuff running south of that (potentially into the East/Southeast as well)

Keeps both parties (80s and modern) sort of happy.

1983 would also be interesting for a route North of Doncaster as the Selby diversion opened in May for local traffic, with some intercity services using the original route until October that year when the line North of Selby to York closed. So you could include both the then brand new Selby diversion route and the original ECML through Selby.

Isn't there an option to disable substitution in the settings at this point? That might work depending on whether the game treats the new liveries as substitutions. Just an idea, I'm not sure.

There is but I think all the 47's are lumped together. It's been a few months ago now.

Hopefully if it’s just the split box, we can get variations such as glass headcode boxes/plated headcode boxes & buffer beam cowling/no cowling. It would be even better if they went to a JT level of detail with things like which locos had which features in 1983 including things like mini snowploughs or round/oval buffers. My personal taste would be black plated boxes with ploughs and cut away buffer cowling :D IMG_9165.jpeg IMG_9167.jpeg

It would also be lovely to see the class 31 in the new timetable, along with JT’s blue class 20 and various bits of their period correct rolling stock such as mk2 coffins. Blue mk1s from the ECML railtour pack would be mega too

Sorry, I cant tell from the 3d model shot. The 37s front/rear nose was widely considered to be too wide and made the WCL and TVL locos look off. Is correcting this issue done or on a to do list?thanks.

Has there been any contact with Just Trains to get the 108 to layer in when the Cumbrian route is released? As well as whatever else that route might bring.

The issue with the WCL 37 is that the headcode box is mounted too high, which makes it look ridiculous. I never that found the TVL /5s look bad. The issue with the WCL version was mentioned to Rivet countless times before the route’s release, but they were adamant that it is correct (it quite clearly isn’t)

Any chance of some nameplates on the relevant 45s and some age appropriate ones on the 47s? Remember driving 484 on this route but no IKB nameplates.

A 46 would be good too and maybe not that much of a crazy modification to the 45 - Cab controls, some physics and a bodyside grille? No doubt, I'm over simplifying things!

Hope we get the subway at Victoria, indeed, finishing off the concourse would be great, with some actual ticket barriers. The Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway tiled map would be the cherry on top. Fingers crossed.
