I would first of all like to thank dove tail for there hard work making another TSW I'm from the east midlands In Nottinghamshire United Kingdom Set in the era from 1964 to 2010 ! v Why we want it Why this route v ! What the route brings The route will bring 5 new locomotives and some new liveries Class 56 Load haul Class 58 Rail freight red stripe / EWS / Mainline / coal sector Class 60 coal sector / Ews / & Ews British steel for all routes involving steel Class 66 Freightliner / GBRF new liveries Class 37 Mainline / Ews While being able to include the current class 66 Ews Class 20 Rail freight red stripe Class 37 rail freight red stripe The Robin hood line brings 13 New stations Nottingham Bulwell Hucknall Newstead Kirkby-in-Ashfield Sutton Parkway Mansfield Mansfield Woodhouse Shirebrook Langwith-Whaley Thorns Creswell Whitwell Worksop LD & ECR / East coast rail A line primarily built to transport coal from the coalfields of Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire to deep-water ports and other railway networks for example powerstations wagons : Wagon type MGR HAA BYA / HTA 100-Ton Bogie Coal Hoppers [ EWS ] [ silver Freightliner heavy haul ] [ silver GBRF ] other route information DB Schenker did not run on this route or at least it never came to welbeck Colliery Freightliner was in the classic Green & yellow EWS was in its usual marron brown / red Rail Operations Group run down the Robin hood line why its fun Because it has multiple complete end to end runs & it features challenging infrastructure steep gradients / tight curves make for a challenging drive that keeps you focused as do the parts of mixed single & double track , Coal freight trains used to drive up to welbeck colliery junction after being loaded go into the siding on the right uncouple then go to the head shunt and wait sometimes 5 minuites some times 25 minuites and sometimes a little longer , They would then recouple at the other end and reverse onto the LD & ECR mainline and head towards shirebrook sometimes they would continue towards worksop staying on the LD & ECR line sometimes they would come off at shirebrook junction signal box and continue towards Nottingham up on entering welbeck colliery from the LD & ECR line on approach from clipstone west some trains would drive straight down to welbeck colliery on approach from shirebrook junction some trains would drive straight down to welbeck colliery while some would reverse into the siding run round change ends then continue down to welbeck colliery Pea field bridge localy known as the cage was a great spotting and hiding place we used to eat sandwiches an drink coffee from inside the bridge while watching trains Combining the Robin hood line & LD & ECR to the Midland mainline and the industrial network tied to former sites like Welbeck colliery & Clipstone colliery as well as power stations would bring a unique mix of scenic passenger runs and heavy freight to the Train Simulator World incoporating colliery branches like Welbeck colliery & Clipstone colliery freight links allows for authentic heavy freight operations using locomotives like the pair of class 20's or pair of class 37's mimicking the regions deep mining heritage and bringing a distinct flavour to Train Sim World that sets in apart from standard high speed or commuter lines Route shifts rapidly from the dence urban cityscapes in Nottingham through cutting tunnels & scenic Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire countryside offering great cab views Supports a great line up of locomotives Class 56 Load haul Class 58 Rail freight red stripe / EWS / Mainline / coal sector Class 60 coal sector / Ews / & Ews British steel for all routes involving steel Class 66 Freightliner / GBRF new liveries Class 37 Mainline / Ews / rail freight red stripe class 66 Ews Class 20 Rail freight red stripe First-Generation DMUs (Classes 104, 110, or 120): Used in multi-car formations Class 150 "Sprinter": Utilized during the initial reopening period in 1995/1996 for the return of local services. Class 156 "Super Sprinter": The absolute backbone of the Robin Hood Line for the majority of this era, handling daily commuter traffic between Nottingham, Mansfield, and Worksop. Class 158 "Express Sprinter": Regularly stepped in for secondary and longer-distance services across Nottinghamshire. Class 170 "Turbostar": Introduced by Central Trains around 1999–2000, these units brought a more modern, air-conditioned service to the Mansfield-Nottingham corridor through 2010 Based mainly around the Eastmidlands of Nottinghamshire a very well know area for coal mining + we have great country side & farmland & what better way to share that with our fellow train enthusiasts than to hope that Dove tail gaming gets to work on this fantastic project. The county has a deep industrial history, being part of the Nottinghamshire coalfield with famous former collieries like Thoresby, Welbeck, Harworth, and Clipstone. More routes is always good,, I just really want someone to make the routes from my area Eastmidlands Nottinghamshire because of the beautiful scenery here & the great rail history in the area also we have a 5 track main line running through Chesterfield station & Double track running through Mansfield & shirebrook That then joins into the main coal line that goes past Welbeck Colliery junction & under peafield bridge it would be good to be able to understand how the trains run better in the local area with the vast amount of countryside & bridges from Victorian times . with lots of different bridges and scenery water ways unique stations along the route Local collieries All of which use Derbyshire & Lincolnshire and East Coast rail LD & ECR it's the Nottinghamshire mid joint line joins onto the robin hoodline at shirebrook junction Welbeck Clipstone Shirebrook Warsop Warsop Vale Mansfield woodhouse Clown Bolsover. Coal light Land Marks Welbeck Colliery Clipstone Colliery Shirebrook Colliery Shirebrook signal box Clifts and canyon Peafield bridge West burton power station Cottam powerstation Set in the era from 1964 to 2010 Mainline Freight Locomotive Classes Class 20 ("Choppers"): Commonly worked in pairs (frequently coupled nose-to-nose) during the 1960s through the 1990s to handle heavy MGR coal rakes. Class 37: Often used in pairs to haul Welbeck’s coal services, particularly on long-distance routes like the Welbeck-to-Northfleet cement works run. Class 47: A ubiquitous mainline class that frequently took over MGR trains at Toton Yard or worked directly from the pit to Trent Valley power stations. Class 56: Introduced in the late 1970s, these heavy freight locomotives became the absolute backbone of Welbeck’s coal operations for decades. Class 58 ("Bone"): Specially built for coal traffic in the 1980s, these regularly serviced the Nottinghamshire coalfield lines. Class 60: Took over heavy coal duties from the early 1990s onward under British Rail and later EWS. Class 66: The dominant post-privatisation diesel locomotive that hauled the final coal trains out of Welbeck up until the pit's closure in 2010. Shunters and Industrial Locomotives Class 08: The standard British Rail diesel shunter used for minor trip freights, wagon positioning, and clearing "crippled" (damaged) wagons near the junction. NCB Industrial Shunters: Inside the colliery gates, the National Coal Board (and later UK Coal) operated private industrial shunters to move wagons under the screens. This included Sentinel 4-wheel diesel shunters and remnants of steam tank locomotives (such as Peckett 0-4-0STs) in the very early years of this timeframe. Passenger and Excursion Classes While primarily a freight line, occasional enthusiast railtours and industrial specials visited the Welbeck branch: First-Generation DMUs (Classes 104, 110, or 120): Used in multi-car formations for specific enthusiast tours (such as the Branch Line Society itineraries) traversing the colliery branch lines in the late 1980s. Between 1964 and 2010, the passenger train classes that operated between Mansfield and Nottingham changed dramatically due to a 31-year total gap in passenger services. Following the Beeching cuts, Mansfield became the largest town in Britain without a passenger railway station. Regular services did not return until the phased opening of the Robin Hood Line in the 1990s. The specific passenger train classes that ran during each active era are detailed below. 1964: The Final British Rail Steam Era Before services were withdrawn on October 10, 1964, regular local passenger trains between Nottingham Midland and Mansfield Town were primarily hauled by steam locomotives Fowler 4F & Stanier 8F Classes: Primarily freight and coal engines, but occasionally subbed onto local passenger services. Ex-LT&SR Threepenny Bit (Tilbury Tanks): Heavily utilized for local passenger hauling in the Nottinghamshire/Mansfield area just prior to closure. 1964 – 1995: The Passenger Closure Gap During this 31-year period, no passenger train classes ran through Mansfield. The line was strictly used for freight and coal traffic (utilizing diesel classes like the Class 20, 31, 47, 56, and 58) 1995 – 2010: The Robin Hood Line Era Regular passenger services were restored to Mansfield on November 20, 1995, under British Rail (shortly before privatization) and were later operated by Central Trains and East Midlands Trains. The routes were completely dominated by Diesel Multiple Units (DMUs): Class 150 "Sprinter": Utilized during the initial reopening period in 1995/1996 for the return of local services. Class 170 "Turbostar": Introduced by Central Trains around 1999–2000, these units brought a more modern, air-conditioned service to the Mansfield-Nottingham corridor through 2010 I would like to see a wider expansion of United Kingdom routes with new routes added and existing routes expanded A class 56 & 58 would be good to see More railways going over bridges and under bridges and by resivours and thru rock canyons and passing thru the middle of town above everything would make a great view from the Locomotive cab You can find this on the robin hoodline and more which would make a nice overlay or possibly expansion with the current East Midlands route Derby to Nottingham There are 3 separate mainlines in the East Midlands are One goes thru chesterfield One goes thru shirebrook from Nottingham part of the robin hoodline The other one goes past welbeck colliery junction and is the part of the Derbyshire & Lincolnshire and East Coast rail LD & ECR it's the Nottinghamshire mid joint line joins onto the robin hoodline at shirebrook junction Shirebrook also has a signal box Some unique scenarios to the area would be nice ie larger scope on coal and mining Also taking items or picking up items from W.H Davis wagon works in shirebrook If not possible the route would be nice to have I know a lot will enjoy it by what I've heard and there's a lot wanting to see the robin hoodline With vast farm land and small towns and villages in-between and some viaducts with waterways and bridges for the Locomotive to pass under and over and a unique signal box at the start of a rock canyon there's certainly plenty to catch the eye on the robin hoodline and surrounding areas xxxx Some features and stuff xxxx Track Maintenance Tampers Rail grinders HST Measurement Train MPV Track cleaner Track replacement / repair Would be good if when say reach level 100 you can maintain the rail world.. Class 56 load haul was running down to Welbeck Colliery before GBRF & Freightliner before GBRf Sometimes you would get a rare rail freight class 58 these were around the times the load haul was about a lot & then they suddenly vanished & EWS 66 was king of the line Freightliner was pretty quickly joined though.. Twin Ews class 37 where regularly up & down the mainline under Pea field bridge.. on Pea field road Warsop Class 37 mainline was also regular Robin Hood Line & Ld & Ecr / East Coast Rail yes very much same i would like a lot more freight i would like nothing more than to go to a yard pick up my loco collect hoppers then get coal from different colleries and deliver to different power stations Freight: Multiple services per day, in both directions, between: welbeck colliery to cottam power station then welbeck colliery to west burton power station - Then Clipstone colliery to west burton then Clipstone colliery to cottam power station Welbeck colliery to Ratcliff power station then Clipstone colliery to Ratcliff power station each run x9 as one job Then return back to yard at end of shift Release Expansion ETC : First release : Midland mainline [ Eastmidlands ] Derby to Nottingham already avalible Second release : Robin Hoodline & LD & ECR - East Coast Rail Between or with the New locomotives & Hopper Wagons & New liveries to current locomotives already avalible Third release : Uk Freight Route: Yorkshire And Nottinghamshire idea by Katia BLR https://forums.dovetailgames.com/th...shire-and-nottinghamshire.81457/#post-1144311 History Release potential im looking at after steam in my sugestion and i know welbeck had a different rail line into the the colliery back then so some one could make a nice vintage steam ere from it or add it to spirit of steam
I think from a passenger train perspective the Robin Hood line isn't exactly very interesting. 1 train per hour between Nottingham and Worksop and then an extra hourly one just to Mansfield Woodhouse... It's not as if the service patterns are interesting either as it's pretty much all stops (except Whitwell and Langwith Whaley Thorns get an alternating two hourly service) Maybe Erewash Valley from Nottingham up to Chesterfield then Sheffield would be more interesting with hourly faster services from EMR and a Leeds bound Northern service functioning as a stopper on this part. Plus the St. Pancras and XC services between Chesterfield and Sheffield (even more so if you include the line down to Derby too
Absolutely fantastic idea the robin hood line is iconic and in days gone by you used to be able to see the iconic annesley headgear of the former annesley pit as you passed the area part of the so called Hidden valleys area en route to hucknall Kirkby Mansfield and Worksop your idea is fantastic because also opens up possibility of the Sheffield to Lincoln line via Retford and Gainsborough Lea road definitely day 1 purchase
The services are not always every hour ,, And it would a great expansion to the already Midland mainline Nottingham to Derby services i think its a great part of route and so do a lot of others im not the first person to pop the robin hood line up and there is a wide range of things to see , RHT MPV come thru a lot as do new and used wagons to W.H Davis thats been there since the railway opened for the mines We get ROG moving new stock thru We get nuclear flask movements We get daventry tesco thru im all for any route in the uk i like freight and variety i also like delays if the research is done correctly there will be a lot of delays in the area
unfortunatly im not familier with that part of the route but as you say its a fantastic idea I know the welbeck colliery line ,, The LD & ECR line and the Robin hood line Would also be nice to have clipstone headstocks since they where the biggest and it was the deepest mine in europe in a ideal world i would have all uk routes on fully functioning mines working interactive power stations All freight services realistic run round and reverse [ i know they reversed out welbeck colliery jun onto the mainline Day / Night operations i spoke to a guy working Freightliner when welbeck colliery was operating , He told me he came from immingham and once loaded was going to cottam power station this was at 10:30pm he said he would be doing that another 9 times before headding back to his depot he also said he aint got a finish time im done when done he said

Passenger services between Worksop and Nottingham are indeed every hour. They leave Worksop at xx.39 and Nottingham at xx.25
i can see the line out my window there more regular than just every hour and passenger services need towning down any way theres far to many 300 + passenger services on one route at different times is a bit much the Robin hood line & LD & ECR route would make for a nice scenic chilled local route with lots of veriety to offer
Do you live south of Mansfield Woodhouse? Because if not that's a straight up lie. I'm saying full length passenger services from Nottingham to Worksop are hourly, just to be clear
Shirebrook junction and signal box Robin hoodline left and LD & ECR line right The LD & ECR line runs straight at the back of the signal box leaving the signal box in a triangle surrounded by a rock canyon Far left goes to W.H Davis wagon works
