A nice surprise having Florida - I really like the liveries and rolling stock. Would like to see Brightline one day though as I believe it's still the only operator other than Amtrak and outside the NE to operate up to 125mph, correct?

Half of the route, but it's at least somewhere in a new region for the game.

I like it's a new region and operator, and gotta say Tri Rail has some good looking trains.

The route is sadly shorter than its TSC counterpart, but beats it in both branding and available locos in which all 3 of Tri-Rails current roster (With deluxe) make the list. But I doubt we'll ever see Amtrak for this one unlike TSC.

Guess we'll see what happens, but given the flat nature of the route (A common complaint for the TSC Miami WPB route) the stock really has to live up to expectations for it to be "exciting".

TriRail is an awesome addition to TSW. The level of detail, the research involved, and the immersion with sounds is cool. I too was hoping we'd finally see an Amtrak P42DC or Siemens SC42DC appear but not this time around. I also enjoyed hearing that the CSX freight locomotives have received updates for this route.

it nice once again csx gp38 and sd40 are being reused. could the c40-8w or ac4400cw locomotive also be used for this route?

Is it just me or is anyone else just feeling meh.. about this route? It’s cool that we’re finally getting Florida in the game, (a place i’m all too familiar with) but i would’ve much rather seen it go all the way to Mangonia Park or West Palm Beach. This one isn’t really capturing my attention and it’s not generating the same excitement that Morristown did. It feels like this route was such a given for such a long time, and now that it’s real, i don’t really feel anything about it. Hopefully im wrong though:)

For a moment I was excited that TSW7 would feature the Tri-Rail line, which I remember from the old TSC (a beautifully crafted route and a poorly made locomotive). I saw the potential for a picturesque, original and complete passenger route, both in terms of operations and AI traffic. The sort of relaxing route I’d love to travel back and forth on to the sounds of tropical music. I also had high hopes when I heard about the careful sound design of the locomotive models.

As it turns out, however, it won’t be the whole route, but just a section – a little over half of the real Tri-Rail line. And as I checked on the operator’s website, no trains are running from Miami Airport to Boca Raton; they all run the full route to Mangonia Park. So the realism and immersion of playing as a Tri-Rail train driver quickly went out the window. Thank you very much.

This route has been removed from my shopping list despite my initial interest.

The prospect of only half the route spoils the premise. They have had a year or more lead in to do the full length justice. Although not quite in the same league I already have several hundred miles of Florida and Georgia in Run 8. Gameplay wise it is going to be very similar to the existing loco hauled/cab car experience on the other US commuter routes. This year, I really hoped DTG might get back into heavy freight with something iconic like Marias Pass, the Moffat Road or KHP in Canada.

Route looks well done, loving the different ballast effects and new foliage, something that the UK routes could do with tbh.

I am just glad they gave us a new region of USA ..plus DTG would never do the full 75 80 mile route .even the NJT Bergen line thats the other new route will not prob be the full dual main lines run to suffern it will be watered down ..they just wont do routes of that length prob because console and urban areas are more detail take more time and memory to develop etc ..even the new UK german core routes not full. 40 50 miles limit..I have the TSC version of miami west palm but it just came with amtrak csx freight .and a unbranded tri rail engine dlc that gave unbranded tri rail runs. at least in TSW7 we getting branded variety of tri rail equipment no amtrak and CSX freight .i am still looking fwd to playing what they did give us..

Let me guess - they left a spot for Amtrak in timetable, but Amtrak will never appear.

Hometown West Palm Beach, Florida Man's reaction and perspective on the Tri-Rail announcement. ;)

    In a word; elated!

When I first saw this announcement I was over-the-top surprised and excited. I immediately thought it would be a TSW remake of the TSC original route. I was eagerly awaiting my first glimpse of the TSW rendering of the West Palm Beach station. After all, the former Seaboard Air Line Railway station is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and I just knew it would be epic to see in the game ....... especially for a lifelong hometown guy!

Well, we all know how that turned out. The route terminates in Boca? I was really bummed to say the least. Part of me wanted to throw a fit and play grumpy and sulky and say I was done with it. Fortunately, I didn't do that. I calmly waited to see the official live stream with the details and I also thought about the enormous amount of work the DTG team did to get this Tri-Rail licensed content in the game. There is a lot here to be excited about and quite honesty, I'm really looking forward to this release. The fact that DTG finally got on site access to another US railroad is huge! Kudos to the DTG team for their persistent, dedication and success in getting both a Tri-Rail official license AND on site access! What a win for EVERYONE that loves this game!

This route standing completely on its own, as a one and done content release will be excellent I believe, but I can't ignore the possibility of the future potential this route also lays the foundation for as well. The obvious, an extension to Mangonia Park. Then, there is the Amtrak possibilities, historic SAL/SCL operations (thinking U-Boat loco) and so on ..... There can definitely be some excellent add-on content for this route, as it has so much current activity and historical significance.

I'm really looking forward to this release and I'm grateful we have it coming!

Up to 79. From what I remember from TSC, these are mostly fast sections.

This is gonna be a great route

was so impressed with sheer amount of rolling stock even before the deluxe loco. The updated csx locos are a really nice bonus.
The tri rail liveries are very cool and nice to see she got both. I have a friend who has models of the palm tree livery. May have to get some myself now.
It would have been nice to have more of the route but I’m not complaining.
Real announcements is a brilliant extra. Makes such a difference to the immersion.

as a console player this route is going to be even better as I can now blow the horn and have a controller key bind to turn the bell off. A little thing but so much of a quality of life improvement to be so easy to do now.

this is probably my favourite us route in a long time and haven’t even seen the preview yet.

They’ve clearly cut back on the US. In a way that’s justified, because in recent TSW versions they released significantly longer routes like San Bernardino and Morristown. On top of that, CactusJuice has left the team, which obviously creates a gap as well. I also think they now want to focus more on the German route, which had been scaled back in the past TSW releases. So one way or another, the budget is limited, meaning they have to make choices about route lengths and this time Germany gets its turn again. And no, I’m not choosing a route; it’s more a reflection from both sides.

There's a fair bit of dissent on Facebook, both DTG's own group and the Train Sim Community group about the route being cut short at a not particularly logical point. Shades of Bernina again.

I generally don't like partial routes, but I'm giving a little grace here because it's almost entirely urban scenery. Even moreso than most of Morristown, Trenton, and to a lesser degree the upcoming Bergen line.

While NYC itself is unbelievably dense, most of the track in that area is underground (which I know causes its own issues), and has less demanding scenery. The density starts to fall off pretty rapidly west and south of Newark. It becomes less dense suburbs and even some exurban stretches west of Summit and between S Brunswick and Hamilton on the NEC.

In contrast, the stretch of TriRail from MIA to Hollywood goes right through the heart of the city, and even once it turns north, it hugs I-95 the whole way and the entire stretch of coast from Homestead up to West Palm Beach is essentially one huge conurbation. There aren't really any empty stretches.

I think a fairer comparison is to the Metro North or LIRR routes.

I would compare Tri-rail more with San Bernardino. While is urban yes but mostly industrial on one side and I-95 on the other and in between is covered with mostly trees and palm trees

Its a typical US commuter route outside the Northeast. They all go through the industrial sections of town with meh scenery and not very central. Just diesel locos and double decker cars.

And disappointed its not the full route to Magnolia Park.

Cabview views from Tri Rail. Seems like the throttle up to notch 5 and then quickly up to 8 after a gaining some momentum.

On the 2nd video the driver seems to have the bell stuck on from Cypress to Miami Airport. Wonder if JD was driving.

What a snoozefest! What do I get as an international player, that I did not experience with the San Bernardino Line? Sorry for US players that it does not even go to a logical ending point like West Palm Beach. Nürnberg-Würzburg will blow this out of the park with it´s heavy traffic, gradients, winding curves, speed changes and the ICE 4.

I’m guessing the challenge will be keeping time with slow to accelerate loco hauled (or pushed) commuter cars, but as TSW doesn’t really penalise you for running late then that comes down to your own attention to detail. As I said, other than the different setting nothing we can’t already do on SFC or SBO. And I know from Run 8 that Florida driving is not the same as taking a heavy freight train over Tehachapi or Donner.

Not really the airport is way outside the heart of the city. At least there are no highrises anywhere near your like 10 miles outside of downtown.

See the cabride videos I posted its pretty barren.

I'm disappointed that the route didn't go to Mangonia Park. But it's new operator for TSW and the included stock looks good. As far as Nürnberg-Würzburg, IMO looks the same as FTF and pretty much every other 2 track German route in the game. But at least we have options for all to enjoy :)

Amtrak only runs 2 trains a day starting out at Miami (Floridian and Silver Meteor) and receives 2 trains in to Miami for both later in the day. So it’s pretty quiet for Amtrak traffic. The Northeast is really the only place in the country where you see multiple trains all day for Amtrak (I’d say up until Chicago, which still has significantly less traffic than the NEC).

Just watched that time lapse Miami airport to Magnolia Park yt video shared above..There are only 5 stations north of Boca Raton looks like most of the stops south of there .also a lot of the CSX freight locals are more in the Miami to FT Lauderdale segment .and how much of the CSX industrial trackage is included with route ...seems to be a lot of complaining on here about the route already ..WE get a Florida route and TRI Rail license and ppl whine about that route boring .2 amtrak trains daily missing ...there just so much hate twd US routes on these forums ..I May be one of the few thats actually looking forward to this we get a bunch of trains included BL20 Rotem cab car F40ph 2 GP49 and CSX GP38 2 SD40 2 aand Rock hoppers..In my opinion the TRI Rail UK routes for TSW7 are the best really not interested in the German core route so much Boring DB red stuff ..

The preview stream later is going to be interesting.
tri rail is the shortest out of the three core routes if im correct, so something has to make up for the £32.99 price tag for this route, it should mean the quality is extremely high like third party routes.
im holding this route in high regard later.

I know how many Amtrak trains running there.
I was talking about that they're always left a place for long distance Amtrak, but they have no plans to create it.
It's like: "I left a spot for a pool in my backyard, but I’m never going to install a pool there"

At least looking at one of the posts they put out today, Tri-Rail was like Metrolink and allowed DTG to access their equipment.

But with how Tri-Rail only has this one line for service, why go thru this whole effort and NOT do the entire line? You cant really sell Boca Raton to WPB. Unless DTG wants to "remaster" the route 5+ years down the road or something.
