Will this route rely on layering from other routes to get freight. Cause I really dont want to install all German routes for freight jobs. So does it come with all the necessary wagons and locos to have a healthy freight jobs. Thanks.

Bit puzzled with this one from the article:
    upload_2026-9-3_11-31-29.png

We have a brand new ICE3 from Nürnberg Ingolstadt, would it not have made sense to use this one instead?
Also, what are the other substitutions and additional traffic from my German collection? Any more drivable or is the remaining stuff AI only?

The DTL article lists the Nurnberg Ingolstadt ICE 3 at this moment. Not sure which list is correct.

PS: The forum article has been updated too, so the ICE 3 from Nurn - Ingolstadt is probably the one that they used.

So no ICE 3 services if you don't own Nurn-Ingolstadt?

    Thats a shame.

What you get with what layers always seems to be the secret that DTG can't bear to divulge. A list with every layer and how many services it provides, or if it is AI or static stock, would clear up a lot of confusion and answer a lot of questions up front. But as we just saw with Tri-Rail, you can read the FAQ, check the forums, and watch the 3+ hour stream and STILL not have all the details. Of course we have seen instances where DTG didn't know what layers would work on a certain route, even after it was released. So perhaps this is just the DTG way of delivering hype but no promises.

BTW, there shouldn't be a line that says "Further substitutions and additional traffic from your German collection".

Last year every layer was listed, even where the list was quite complex like in Riviera Line. We are going backwards in the amount of information given in the articles.

Watching the live stream, this route looks so good. The noticeable improvement in LOD pop-in is really quite awesome. Unfortunately, having a PS5 Pro, it doesn’t look like I’ll have access to the Epic settings and improved lighting.

Could these features not be enabled for PS5/PS5 Pro players with a clear disclaimer in-game that performance could be impacted. I’m sure the PS5 Pro could permit at least some Epic Settings to be enabled alongside the improved lighting.

I'm curious how the consoles will compete with this.

A huge thank you to DTG and all their staff for their work on the ICE 1 train included in this itinerary.
I will definitely be purchasing this DLC on Day One.

In the live stream DTG Matt mentioned that the breaks on the Talent 2 had been improved.

Has this improvement been added to previous versions of the Talent 2 as well.

So I was re-watching the preview stream , and also I tried to raise this issue in the chat about the weird behavior of the AFB system on the ICE 4 ; like for example you can see with the AFB set to 80kmph the throttle and braking application by the train control computer seems very "jittery" rather than applying a constant required traction effort to account for the gradient and speed it cuts off then re-applies and so on and so forth ... also I was watching this video on YT of a POV drive of a IRL ICE 4 train and in this the AFB seems behaving very nice and smooth...

Considering the ICE 4 is a deluxe loco and also sold as a separate DLC, please look into this issue.
    DTG Lukas DTG Matt

Note : I am also attaching a small clip from the preview stream which shows a glimpse of this issue.

I've asked the physics engineer this morning to take a look.

Watched the first section of the stream (ICE4) and while respecting the enthusiasm of the developers and no doubt some of the German customer base, god it’s bland. Sorry guys and gals but it really does fit right into my paradigm of the game being awash with similar routes, particularly for Germany. Virtually no hills or scenery to appreciate en route, despite the curves and gradients it’s on mostly level terrain. Just like Dresden to Leipzig last year or Frankfurt to Fulda, it would be driven a few times in each direction then thrown aside.

And as regards the 412, totally hopeless for us thrash merchants… Even if it goes against reality for goodness sake have the option to hear the traction sounds in the cab. And there didn’t seem much tactile feel either. And TBH if it is such a key part of the route then it should have been the bundled train, rather than the extra.

Need to find time to watch the 440 section but again it doesn’t sound as if that is particularly noisy either.

Stand my ground that a nice diesel route like the Obereruhrtalbahn as seen in Zusi would have been something a bit more different this time round. I appreciate Lukas addressing the Berlin issue in the stream, but should point out it’s not long distance routes people are after but part of the unique and distinctive S-Bahn, as seen in TSC.

So sadly this is looking like Strike 2 of 3 on whether to buy a pre order pack.

It is completely correct that there is no motor sound in the cab of the ICE 4. The powered cars are located behind the cab car, so it would be totally unrealistic to hear that sound from the driver’s cab.

    Thanks Matt. DTG Matt

also while re-watching the stream I found out some more issues on the ICE 4 ; like the speedometer markings does not match the IRL one , it should be showing 0, 50, 100, 150, 200, 300 and 400 km/h only rather than the 250,350 kmph etc marks in the in-game one.

and, the colors for the PZB/LZB icons on the multi-function display do not match the ERA-ERTMS specifications and the font/lettering for the LZB speed-limit on the speedometer is spaced out wrongly.

That is my point. DTG went to all the trouble of recording some decent and authentic sounds for the powered cars but completely wasted if you spend most of the time in the cab. Hence there should be an option for those who prefer entertainment over realism in the audio department to choose what they hear. There is precedent for this with the BR Classic Diesels which are generally fairly quiet in the cab but in TSW we are treated to the exterior sound. Think of it like those “Wired For Sound” style cab ride videos from the likes of Locomaster Profiles or Videoscene which make the experience far more interesting.

DTG Lukas can this please be considered for future. A bit of traction sound in the cab might have scored a few points towards me actually getting this.

The route looks really great and so does the ICE 4 but as someone who likes to drive hudless I was really curious to see if the ICE 4 had roadrunner like the new ICE 3. Especially because the new route has a lot of speed changes. So i was a bit disappointed to hear that it wasn’t included with the deluxe loco. Are there any plans to add roadrunner in a future update?
