Will this route rely on layering from other routes to get freight. Cause I really dont want to install all German routes for freight jobs. So does it come with all the necessary wagons and locos to have a healthy freight jobs. Thanks.

Bit puzzled with this one from the article:
    upload_2026-9-3_11-31-29.png

We have a brand new ICE3 from Nürnberg Ingolstadt, would it not have made sense to use this one instead?
Also, what are the other substitutions and additional traffic from my German collection? Any more drivable or is the remaining stuff AI only?

The DTL article lists the Nurnberg Ingolstadt ICE 3 at this moment. Not sure which list is correct.

PS: The forum article has been updated too, so the ICE 3 from Nurn - Ingolstadt is probably the one that they used.

So no ICE 3 services if you don't own Nurn-Ingolstadt?

    Thats a shame.

What you get with what layers always seems to be the secret that DTG can't bear to divulge. A list with every layer and how many services it provides, or if it is AI or static stock, would clear up a lot of confusion and answer a lot of questions up front. But as we just saw with Tri-Rail, you can read the FAQ, check the forums, and watch the 3+ hour stream and STILL not have all the details. Of course we have seen instances where DTG didn't know what layers would work on a certain route, even after it was released. So perhaps this is just the DTG way of delivering hype but no promises.

BTW, there shouldn't be a line that says "Further substitutions and additional traffic from your German collection".

Last year every layer was listed, even where the list was quite complex like in Riviera Line. We are going backwards in the amount of information given in the articles.

Watching the live stream, this route looks so good. The noticeable improvement in LOD pop-in is really quite awesome. Unfortunately, having a PS5 Pro, it doesn’t look like I’ll have access to the Epic settings and improved lighting.

Could these features not be enabled for PS5/PS5 Pro players with a clear disclaimer in-game that performance could be impacted. I’m sure the PS5 Pro could permit at least some Epic Settings to be enabled alongside the improved lighting.

A huge thank you to DTG and all their staff for their work on the ICE 1 train included in this itinerary.
I will definitely be purchasing this DLC on Day One.

In the live stream DTG Matt mentioned that the breaks on the Talent 2 had been improved.

Has this improvement been added to previous versions of the Talent 2 as well.

So I was re-watching the preview stream , and also I tried to raise this issue in the chat about the weird behavior of the AFB system on the ICE 4 ; like for example you can see with the AFB set to 80kmph the throttle and braking application by the train control computer seems very "jittery" rather than applying a constant required traction effort to account for the gradient and speed it cuts off then re-applies and so on and so forth ... also I was watching this video on YT of a POV drive of a IRL ICE 4 train and in this the AFB seems behaving very nice and smooth...

Considering the ICE 4 is a deluxe loco and also sold as a separate DLC, please look into this issue.
    DTG Lukas DTG Matt

Note : I am also attaching a small clip from the preview stream which shows a glimpse of this issue.

Watched the first section of the stream (ICE4) and while respecting the enthusiasm of the developers and no doubt some of the German customer base, god it’s bland. Sorry guys and gals but it really does fit right into my paradigm of the game being awash with similar routes, particularly for Germany. Virtually no hills or scenery to appreciate en route, despite the curves and gradients it’s on mostly level terrain. Just like Dresden to Leipzig last year or Frankfurt to Fulda, it would be driven a few times in each direction then thrown aside.

And as regards the 412, totally hopeless for us thrash merchants… Even if it goes against reality for goodness sake have the option to hear the traction sounds in the cab. And there didn’t seem much tactile feel either. And TBH if it is such a key part of the route then it should have been the bundled train, rather than the extra.

Need to find time to watch the 440 section but again it doesn’t sound as if that is particularly noisy either.

Stand my ground that a nice diesel route like the Obereruhrtalbahn as seen in Zusi would have been something a bit more different this time round. I appreciate Lukas addressing the Berlin issue in the stream, but should point out it’s not long distance routes people are after but part of the unique and distinctive S-Bahn, as seen in TSC.

So sadly this is looking like Strike 2 of 3 on whether to buy a pre order pack.

It is completely correct that there is no motor sound in the cab of the ICE 4. The powered cars are located behind the cab car, so it would be totally unrealistic to hear that sound from the driver’s cab.

    Thanks Matt. DTG Matt

also while re-watching the stream I found out some more issues on the ICE 4 ; like the speedometer markings does not match the IRL one , it should be showing 0, 50, 100, 150, 200, 300 and 400 km/h only rather than the 250,350 kmph etc marks in the in-game one.

and, the colors for the PZB/LZB icons on the multi-function display do not match the ERA-ERTMS specifications and the font/lettering for the LZB speed-limit on the speedometer is spaced out wrongly.

That is my point. DTG went to all the trouble of recording some decent and authentic sounds for the powered cars but completely wasted if you spend most of the time in the cab. Hence there should be an option for those who prefer entertainment over realism in the audio department to choose what they hear. There is precedent for this with the BR Classic Diesels which are generally fairly quiet in the cab but in TSW we are treated to the exterior sound. Think of it like those “Wired For Sound” style cab ride videos from the likes of Locomaster Profiles or Videoscene which make the experience far more interesting.

DTG Lukas can this please be considered for future. A bit of traction sound in the cab might have scored a few points towards me actually getting this.

The route looks really great and so does the ICE 4 but as someone who likes to drive hudless I was really curious to see if the ICE 4 had roadrunner like the new ICE 3. Especially because the new route has a lot of speed changes. So i was a bit disappointed to hear that it wasn’t included with the deluxe loco. Are there any plans to add roadrunner in a future update?

Its not waste of time they have not made a sound record trip so better you stop to argue about this kind of points without any information about the process... They have reached out to the community to obtain the sounds. And if they do a reference trip its absolute no waste of money or time.... How do you have cab sounds like buttons horn etc etc.... But okay it's talking to a wall you're so negative over everything it's every time the same tantrum.

For people they ask for the 101+IC1 runs on this route.... There is no IC services on this line in the 2026 timetable.

I can understand Old Vern's point, I don't think he is being negative, some people will want total realism, even if the sounds are a bit bland in the cab, some will want to hear the sounds that you would probably hear sitting in the carriage, it would be great to have a choice. I remember when South Eastern was released, the sounds were a tad boring in the cab and I used to open the cab door to make it a bit more enjoyable and noisy, but most trains won't drive when the cab doors are left open.

Thanks. Unfortunately Jesper can’t help himself contradicting and sniping at everything I post lately (brought to moderator attention) and if his reply above was aimed at me not the post he quoted, has shot himself in the foot. Regardless of how they are sourced the external sounds of the ICE4 were actually quite pleasant and certainly nothing wrong with lamenting not being able to hear that when driving - negative, I think not. Anyhow as I said it’s with the mods now as I’m pissed off at his permanent picking on what I have to say. Needs t o wind his neck in.

Sorry, but I'm going to defend Jesper here. Not every route is made specifically tailored for every person. If you don't like modern german routes then don't buy it. I personally don't really care for the uk and usa content, so I don't buy it. But at the same time I'm not complaining in the Miami thread that the trains sound realistic, because I already know that I wont be interested. I'm all in favour of critizising DTG when they deserve it, but you also have to acknowledge it when they actually do their job and make a realistic route/train. The ICE 4 is the most requested german train and the railway between Würzburg and Nürnberg is one of the busiest in the country. It's also a historically important route, Fürth to Nürnberg was the first ever railway in Germany. It's a route well known to rail fans since it has the national railway museum. It's an important link in the current TSW network from Kassel-Ingolstadt. If you want to critisize it mention that only 1/3 of Nürnberg RBF was included, mention that Fürth Hafen, Nürnberg Hafen, Nürnberg Nord and Würzburg RBF/Hafen weren't included. Not that they made a realistic choice. Think of your favourite train, now imagine if someone came into the discussion forum and said 'I didn't like this thing that is how it is in the real thing, I haven't watched the video yet but I probably also wont like that thing this is strike 29000/10 against me buying it'. Wouldn't you get defensive about it?

Correct! I wrote earlier that it’s like a toddler’s birthday party where grandpa shows up but is only grumpy and unfriendly that’s not fun for the toddler or the other guests. So it’s better to stay home instead of coming to the party and dragging the whole atmosphere down. And yes, you may have some valid points to raise, but to be fair, what I’m reading is mostly unpleasant and grumpy behaviour. Sorry to say, and I’m trying to be respectful.

And just to add: I’m not the only one who pointed this out. Others have also mentioned that they don’t appreciate it. So with all respect singling me out is a bit too easy.

Jesus Christ, if you think that was grumpy, then you should hear me when I really am grumpy.

You have your opinion which I respect, I have mine which you seem unable to. Perhaps it's time you stopped acting like the unofficial forum police and gaslighting everything I say. It's a forum and that means different people have different views and different ways of expressing them. Trouble is, you seem to want to stamp on everything I say rather than let it be. Maybe I am a grouchy old canute but nothing is going to change that and I'm not going to stop posting here or playing TSW because you want to disagree with me. No one made you a moderator of who should post what and when, if the official mods have an issue with me they can take it up accordingly.

Now off to enjoy the Railtour on Crewe to Preston... :)

I completely agree that a forum will always have different opinions, but I wasn’t the only one who clearly pointed out that you’re more negative than positive. So it’s not just me — others have also expressed that it feels out of balance between giving fair criticism and simply complaining. I understand that the line between those two can be thin, and that’s clearly where we disagree. If I’ve made you feel attacked, I’m sorry. Let me take the initiative and stop addressing you further. But please try to understand that some people feel that too much criticism spoils their enjoyment.

Oh, and ‘grumpy’ was meant more metaphorically. ;)

Fair enough - let's get on with enjoying the game (and tonight splitting Stranger Things Season 4 Episode 9 142 mins in two halves!).

although no one asked, i'll give my opinion: a simulator should always lean towards realism
so, if the ICE 4 doesn't have an engine in the cab car, then that's how it should be represented in the simulator
the same goes for the class 802 and 805
the 805 doesn't have an engine in the cab car, but that's how it is in reality
    blame hitachi, siemens, bombardier/alstom
the 802 is more fun to drive in the simulator because the cab car has an engine? yes, sure, but the fact that the 805 doesn't have an engine in the cab car represents the reality
the same should apply to the ICE 4
    anyway, that's my opinion

I gotta agree with that. I'm more of a fan of the more noisy locos and cabs myself, but I'd prefer it to be as is in reality too. If a cab is relatively silent IRL, it should be relatively silent ingame as well. I'll probably not use the ICE4 and the 440 very often myself, but they will make nice additions to my collection and the game overall regardless :)

Regarding the route, it left a very good impression on me in the preview stream! I might get it right away after all. Let's see if the timetable has got more services to offer for some non-EMU rolling stock... ;)

Also thanks to the shoutout in the stream I watched jetwash's TSW6/7 comparison video, which I didn't know about before and which got me even more excited for TSW7 now

They are asking to have the option to play the motor sounds in the cab for those that like to hear the motor sounds even when the motors are not close or the cab is insonorized. Think it's the same way we have in-cab announcements now. You have a volume bar for it, so if you don't like it you just set the volume bar to 0 and everything stays as in real life.

In fact, makes sense that the bar is set to 0 by default and those that want something different from reality change it to something higher.

This isn't limited to just this route, but I would like you to release the layers and detailed maps in advance, as you have done in the past.
