Hello folks, This is the official discussion thread for the Airedale & Wharfedale Network: Leeds & Bradford - Skipton & Ilkley Route Add-On, one of the three core routes for Train Sim World 7, releasing on September 15th 2026. Feel free to discuss this Add-On here, but be aware that user-created discussion threads on this topic might already exist. To help keep discussions streamlined, we ask that you keep discussions on topic and feedback in the relevant threads, where applicable. The route is looking fantastic and as someone who knows this route well and built a version in TSC the only thing jumping out to me is the retail units right next to Bradford Forster Square station look nothing like the metal warehouse asset used. They are yellow brick/stone with grey cladding and curved roof. I understand the retail store names not being used but the asset currently in place is so inappropriate and right up against the track. Everything else is looking really great along with the 333 and 331.
Hey Matt , I am writing to you this again because you said you would look into this and then you didn't reply, like what happened to having pre-load for Steam users buying the deluxe edition ? why can playstation have 48hr pre-load and Steam gets nothing ? My current installation for TSW 6 is around 390 GB ! so it would take a lot of time to download all of this again so why not give us the headroom so that we can pre-load the files and can get full 5 days of early access runtime. Hi, I have a quick question relating to the class 331 traction motor sounds, as someone who used to regularly use the 331 on the Manchester to Crewe line I am very familiar with the VF drive sounds, I noticed that in train sim world 7 they're wrong when the train is decelerating. I'm just wondering, will it be fixed before the game officially releases on the 15th? Thanks!
The route looks really good from what we saw on the LiveStream. Rivet have done a good job. It's a shame that Matt's driving is terrible, plus when he uses the freecam we get so many weird angles and views. The last hour of the stream is pointless chitter chatter and spider related nonesense. I'd rather these types of streams be curated and presented pre-recorded showing off more of what players want to see.
I don’t think I’ve once seen an example of “we’ll be quiet for the announcements” followed by the team actually being quiet. I did suggest pre-recorded high quality videos & Matt thinks it’s a good idea, so hopefully it will come to fruition. Furthermore that stream did a really bad job of showing what’s included, it was particularly frustrating to hear so much chatter about how useful the full list of layers and requirements they had was, and they did such a poor job of actually showing us all the layers. These yearly instalment streams are all I really tune into now due to the presentation quality. Unfortunately I’ll also be subjecting myself to a couple more throughout the year. These streams need not to be sterile, but they really need pulling back to somewhere between professional & where they are now. We also need a better structure to the previews so that we can actually see the entire product & Matt can actually drive the route. Im sure they can put other streams on for the pissing about they like so much, but I’m watching these streams as a customer interested in the product & they do such a poor job of showing said product.
I'm joining you on this one. PC already has to deal with releasing later in the day and then we have to wait even logner after that. Last time I had to wait around 5 hours for all dlc to install. Given that in my timezone it will be releasing at 19:00 that means there is a very high chance I won't be able to play untill the 11th
If you’re playing on the 10th then you’re downloading your content a whole 5 days before consoles anyway. I’d happily swap a 48hr preload on 20gb of content for no preload but instant access to ALL of my collection.
Driving out of Leeds in the early hours doesn't fill me with confidence for console. Why not show us how it looks at midday?
Yeah, it’s been pretty bad on PS5 but I don’t know how Xbox users are still spending money on TSW. I absolutely would of binned TSW years ago if I stayed on Xbox - all you ever see on route feedback threads are reports of crashing. To be fair Leeds at 6 approaching 7am has Azumas and other bits starting their shifts, the triangle routes are also well underway with services at this time too, so it’ll be as memory intensive then as it would be midday, in fact mid day is likely quieter.
If you’re on Steam you can untick all your DLC to just get the core and new stuff loaded, then curate back in as convenient bit by bit.
It may shock you to know that it's hardly rapid for us console users when we have to download everything and five hours is about average for us as well. It's not uncommon for us to download the game over night.
Why are the DTG and Rivet routes devoid of the real railway lineside infrastructure, the concrete cable troughs, the orange plastic conduit etc? If this was a real railway it would not function. The other developers can do it, come on the DTG and make the track side look real.
+1 on this , I also noticed this on the preview streams and in some sections the scenery does look unfinished and the transition from ballast to the track side vegetation seems unnatural and the main thing almost zero track-side clutter makes it look less immersive.
Class 801 in cab audio clicks every few minutes, just one quick burst.....randomly. AWS green signal alterer in the 331 sounds like an 8 bit sample, and not a 16 bit or 24 bit sample, apart from that, its a pretty good route.
Every time my finger tries to hover over the "Buy" button, thankfully something gets posted telling me not to let the money burn a hole in my pocket!
The titles of the official discussion threads are the same as the feedback threads which no longer have feedback thread appended to the title. When navigating the forum through the New Posts page, it makes it hard to distinguish them. I clicked on this thinking it was the feedback thread and wondered why there was so much discussion and not much feedback. It would be nice if the feedback threads could have “feedback thread” back in the title to help, as there are so many threads knocking about with identical titles.
If we’re honest, they just made a complete hash of the forum layout. If they wanted to remove certain sub-forums then that’s what they should have done. I don’t really get what this ‘change’ achieved- I doubt it’s less work for the comms team as they now seem to have to duplicate posts all over the place. It’s certainly not easy as a user to navigate it either.
As much as I don't want to drag this thread too far off-topic, I hate that the General Discussion page is so far down the list as it's probably the section I go to most
