This thread will open once the game is released. Hello folks, This is the official master feedback thread for the Core experience of Train Sim World 7. There will be dedicated feedback threads for the following TSW 7 core features: Live Weather Freight Hauler Simple Controls Feel free to share feedback on other core features and the overall TSW 7 experience in this thread. Please keep all discussions related only to feedback, and include the game platform you are using in any comments. Off-topic messages might be deleted or moved to the appropriate threads. Make sure to also check our extensive TSW 7 Support Pages, which include solutions to many common issues. When providing feedback, please always add the following details if possible: Platform (i.e.: PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S) Service/Scenario played when the issue occurred. Repeatability. How often does this issue occur? Images/Videos of the issue occurring. Here are a few examples of how to best provide feedback and what to avoid: Helpful issue reports "PC (Steam), Service XYZ, the AI train at X remained stationary, blocking the route. This has happened 3 out of 3 attempts. Screenshot attached." "Xbox Series X: The station announcement audio at Y is much quieter than other stations. I've noticed it on multiple services." "PS5 - Passengers do not board at Z Station. I was able to reproduce this every time." Positive feedback (also welcome!) "PC: Really enjoying the scenery between A and B. The route looks fantastic, especially at sunset." "PS5: The train handling feels great, and the services are a lot of fun to drive." "The ambient audio around the stations is excellent and really adds to the atmosphere." Less helpful feedback "It's broken." "Fix this." "The route is bad." "Game crashed." (without any details about where, when, or how it happened) The more details you provide, whether reporting an issue or sharing something enjoyable, the more helpful your feedback will be to the team. As always, thank you for your feedback. All the best, Jan
unless i’ve missed something, there’s no feedback thread for ai conductor, so i’ll put it here- when closing the doors on the 331, the guard’s door will close before the rest of the doors, so effectively the process is reversed xbox series x
PS5 airedale and wharfedale, serious lack of passengers using the trains. Running 2V10 currently and the trains empty but other passing services have passengers
For the camera speed, although you can change the movement and rotation speed in the control settings, when you return to the settings they have both reverted to displaying "High." However, the actual settings have been saved; it's just the display in the menu that is incorrect. XSX
For sure. The other thing I have noticed is that it doesn't necessarily show "High," it might show something different that may or may not reflect what the actual setting is. Also, if what the game is showing is not congruent with what is in the background, it will ask you if you want to "save your changes " This without the player having changed anything, just the game state display randomly changing. Weird.
Just wanted to stick a small note in as I'm sure it's been picked up by Matt now. The touchscreens not working has been a thing on consoles since it was introduced. I know it's been reported by many users across the whole game so it's a little disappointing to hear Matt sound so surprised it doesn't work. There's been some breakdown in communication somewhere because it's definitely been reported and brought up many times. Hopefully this now means it can be fixed
A few things from PS5 (pro): 1. The bug that was on TSW6 where the volume level settings for platform, onboard and cab announcements, internal passenger noise and the all train announcements toggle is still present in TSW7. These settings still don’t save between gameplay sessions…. 2. Minimal HUD objective distance doesn’t seem to work. The option for the countdown from 1, 2 or 4km is still in the settings but there’s no ‘barber pole’ countdown vs. the next objective. This only now appears when loading passengers and disappears during other gameplay. 3. UI - appreciating many previous threads on this, but the pause menu colour scheme is (for me) uncomfortably bright. I think it’d be much better if brought closer to the main menu scheme - i.e. more grey than white. This would also help with the overview screen; different shades of white against each other for gradient, tunnels etc. is extremely difficult to read It’d be useful to know if these have already been flagged and whether there’s anything in the day 1 patch to address. Many thanks.
I drove an ICE 4 service to Nürnberg on the new German route, with all settings maxed out, Smooth Motion enabled and the frame rate capped at 30 FPS. It was a much better experience than TSW6, with very little stuttering. The few stutters I noticed seemed to be related to shader caching. AFB seemed to be working fine on the ICE4, didn't use any other safety systems. The only issue was V-Sync, which wasn’t working with the recommended settings: off in-game and on in the NVIDIA App. I also tried the new live weather. The weather changes were too sudden. (Patch coming from what I read) I also explored London Euston a bit, this was also smooth. The framerate held at 30fps. (In TSW6 it didn't) One thing to note is that I'm not using any mods yet. Edit: I'm using a RTX 5090. (4K)
Whilst the redesign of the menus, interface etc looks nice it can be quite hard to read in places. also the yellow font when you’re driving a service is horrid and needs changing immediately
TSW7 look so much better than TSW6... You did a good job!!! i have only one thing that i hope it becames a patch...when i drive the ICE4 or Br440 with my raildriver there is a Issue. When my Raildriver is in the Middle the Throttle in the cab is in Zero... Please fix the sensitivity Thx
the ui has to be a priority, it’s way too bright. absolutely horrible to look at. also removing the yellow additions from the top left will make a huge difference, there wasn’t any need for them in the first place
From what I've experienced so far, the game is behaving however there is (so far) two things I don't like. 1) When running, sometimes the player will suddenly slow down or just stop. I've got walking as my default so I press down RT to run. 2) Whilst I am pleased the fast camera is back, I've noticed the exterior camera motion is very sensitive when I move the LSB joystick. Is this normal or do I have my settings mixed up? both Camera Motion & Camera Rotation settings are set to 'Slow' and my sensitivity is set to 3 I'm on Xbox Series S
I think I can reflect what people have encountered with the camera speed. I'm on a PS5 and Steam and have found that the fast camera speed seems ridiculously fast, the slow seems ridiculously slow, and the medium while being ok, takes a couple of attempts to set it as such before it seems to stick.
The "layer selection menu" still lies about what DLC contains the loco/train you are missing. What is worse, now you have a button that sends you to the incorrect item in the store so you can buy it. Example: The RE1 in Nurnberg - Wurzburg is obviously a layer from the new TSG DLC Nurnberg - Ingolstadt, but the layers UI says incorrectly that it comes from Linke Rheinstrecke. Another example would be the ICE 3. The game says it comes from Kassel - Wurzburg but it actually comes from Nurnberg - Ingolstadt. PC/Steam.
I spent a few hours trying it out, and the lighting together with the Epic settings all maxed out… it looks insanely good, absolutely next‑level. DLAA is such an unbelievably good addition. I did a run in the early morning with the sun shining straight towards me, and it looked stunning with those sun rays. For the Epic settings and the enhanced lighting, I’d easily give it a solid 10 out of 10. Well done JetWash
This is mad. We were told recently on the forum that the layers menu doesn’t actually tell you what DLC you need because the game can’t reference DLC you don’t own. That’s absolutely true in TSW6. If you don’t own something, it doesn’t list it. Maybe they’ve changed that for TSW7 but if so, they have to get it right.
While i like some of the adjustments to the controller camera speed and whatnot i find it annoying that when on foot the camera is fast to move directly up and down or left and right but daignolly it is extremely slow and slows your character down when sprinting.
Playing on PC. It's all running fine, but the interface is way too bright! Whoever designed this must have been wearing sunglasses while sitting in a brightly lit office. And for me it's even worse because I have hypersensitivity to light. Please add a dark mode, or at the very least turn down the brightness several notches and improve contrast.
First thing here, the GUI is significantly less appealing than in TSW6. Why are the menus so bright? Everyone is going to dark mode for default but TSW has gone the opposite direction. For years it was getting harder and harder to see bright screens or black on white text, until ultimately I was basically blind. I didn't know the cause of this. Finally went to the eye doctor and he said it's cataracts. Had cataract surgery, got new lenses, and I can see again. Miracle. Lucky I was able to get the surgery as well as vision-correcting lenses. If I hadn't had the surgery, TSW7 would be rendered absolutely unplayable for me due to poor contrast and how incredibly bright a lot of the menus are. Not everyone knows they have cataracts or that they make it hard to see bright screens. Not everyone can afford the surgery. It's already been mentioned elsewhere, but PLEASE offer a dark mode. And it should really be default. It looks outdated to have such bright screens in a video game.
TSW7 (PC/Steam version) Regarding the main menu BGM, the volume fluctuates—sometimes getting louder and other times quieter—during playback. (Unstable volume)
I will second this. If you're on PC, grap the free started pack atleast (there is realy no reason not to). The addition of DLAA means that we no longer have to look on the world through the blurry mess that was TAA. It's crisp clear, but properly antialliased, even the catenary wires looks good (which I imagine the most difficult object for AA). Jetwashes enhanced lighting is the cherry on top of this. For me, it improved performance, because I had to run atleast 140% screen resolution to make the world look good, now, with 100% and DLAA it looks better than before.
Not sure where to post this but can you slow down the camera outside its way to fast me it hurts my eyes. Thanks
If using a controller, it now depends how far forward you’re pushing the control stick. It moves much faster so you can get ahead of your train to get some action like views.
I absolutely DESPISED this behaviour back when it first showed up, and was relieved when it went away again, so I really hope there's a better way of controlling it than with fine handling of the stick. Much prefer having some kind of shift input to toggle between fast and slow. You'd expect that what with the the work they put into the development of the simplified control scheme, they'd have taken into account accessibility issues for players with motor control issues. One of my friends has neurodegenerative issues that mean the new driving controls will probably let her play again, instead of relying on me streaming it, but this camera is going to be nigh-impossible for her to use as her motions basically have two positions, on and off.
PS5 I haven’t even started the route yet, but I’ve already unlocked 6 trophies, including one for driving 500 miles. How is that even possible?
Imagine its based on your train sim profile that will have completed all of those on previous version.
I can't give this enough of an upvote - using yellow colour for the current objective name and distance is really, really jarring when yellow is used for overspeed. Please change back to all-white font like we used to have.
this happens on xbox too, as soon as i loaded my first 331 service yesterday i unlocked an achievement for doing something like 500 miles
I have the Platinum trophy in TSW6, but I only got these 6 trophies automatically. I'm not happy about that.
Mileage achievements auto-unlock if you completed them before, just like I also got the one for completing 4 tutorials after completing one
The UI needs changing in terms of colours, who even signed off on this? The oft mentioned in these and other comments dark mode would work well. In terms of the UI as well, the barbers pole being light grey against a white background! Again, who on earth designed then signed off on that.
I’d also really like to see a dark mode option. Personally, I generally prefer darker interfaces, but in this case I also find the current UI a bit too bright. The contrast doesn’t feel particularly comfortable to me, and some elements are quite hard to read as a result.
Definitely agree. When fast cam went away on controller, I eventually got a keyboard controller and pressing shift for fast cam worked just fine. Even when fast cam was previously on controller, way back in TSW days, I believe it was a press-and-hold activation, and not control-stick driven. I much prefer something like that to what we now have. Also as others have noted, the three cam speeds are not really acceptable. Slow is much too slow, fast too fast, and medium doesn't seem much different than fast. I am flying all over the place when trying to couple/uncouple. I'm sure it will take some getting used to, and I am trying to find the right stick sensitivity setting, but not a fan. It would be great if players, you know, has the OPTION over which system to use. And I also agree that using stick sensitivity to walk/run is not an improvement. Much prefer holding the button to toggle. Plus, running is no longer supported when pushing the control stick diagonally, forcing the player to use certain directions only, and the overall running speed seems slower as well. Although this new control scheme perhaps does make accessing screens a little easier, the tradeoffs to me are not worth it. There needs to be improvements made, plus the option to go back to the previous system as well.
All they needed to do was improve the default deadzones for analogue sticks. What they’ve actually done is also added a metric ton of stick acceleration, the result is basically far too much control input. Fix the fast camera so it’s working just as it used to, keep the deadzone fixes in place & scrap the new accelerated stick movement, or add sliders to reduce the acceleration, or even just a toggle to have it off completely.
The UI is too bright, and the background images don’t work well with the new font, which I actually like. However, the thin text makes it incredibly difficult to read. Some of the transparency is also too strong, further affecting text legibility.
What settings are under which menu are a bit of a mess right now and could do with a rationalisation pass. I would suggest: Safety Systems by Default - General -> Player Assist HUD Type, Show Score & Show Current Speed - Accessibility -> HUD & Gameplay Substitutions and Allow Mods - Advanced -> General Camera Motion Sway & Level - HUD & Gameplay -> Accessibility Steam Firing Mode, Suspension Model - HUD & Gameplay -> General Disable Junction Derail, Conductor Mode Control Guide - HUD & Gameplay -> Player Assist
I'm getting crash to desktop on JT Routes with the 87 when the doors are ready to be closed and AI Conductor Mode is set to Realistic, does not crash with AI Conductor Mode Off Its happened to me on both WCML Carlisle to Preston and Crewe to Preston Platform: PC Service Scenario - Any Service / Scenario with class 87 e.g. Crewe To Preston - Full timetable - 1A40 Carlisle to London Euston Routes - Carlisle - Preston and Crewe to Preston Steps to Reproduce - Select Timetable Service Turn on AWS End Change Lever Acknowledge AWS Insert Master Key Unlock Right Doors Turn on Head Lamp and Markers aaWait until scheduled departure time - crash to desktop
PS5 Pro AI Conductor Mode When I set it to "Realistic" or "Always," the setting reverts to the default "OFF" after restarting TRS7... I don't know if this is intentional, but it seems odd...
Have people tried toggling gameusersettings.ini to read only after applying the settings they want? Needs to be toggled off again prior to changing anything in the menus but worth a try.
I play on Xbox Series X. I started with TSW4. Up until now each new version felt like a step forward. Some of the recent routes like Birmingham Crewe and Medway Valley look and play great. I was really hoping that would be the new standard, but so far Im disappointed with TSW7. It looks and plays okay, but not great. It seems to look better for PC players, but on Xbox I'm underwhelmed.
Not sure if anyone else is experiencing this, but there no longer seems to be a way of saving layer selections in timetable mode. Whichever layers I select / un-select, when I return to the game they seem to all be selected again. Hopefully this is something that can be fixed so that layer selections can be saved. If not this would be a real step backwards! (I remember this feature was introduced with TSW5 i think). It would be very frustrating to have to de-select layers every time the game is loaded.
It did that in TSW6 too. I think it only works when "Enabled all layers" is on... try one option or the other... EDIT: You're right, it doesn't save the setting, when restarting TSW7, all layers are indeed active, regardless of whether it was set to "Enabled" or "Disabled All layers." That’s likely going to be a problem once all the add-ons for TSW7 are launched. I am on PS5 Pro
The minimal HUD not showing the barber pole when moving is a massive immersion breaker for me. I don't like having to use the distance option.
