This route is a network route made up of 3 branch lines. The Avocet Line runs between Exeter St Davids and Exmouth, following the River Exe through the heart of Devon. The Dartmoor Line heads west from Exeter St Davids towards Okehampton, passing through the Devon countryside towards the edge of Dartmoor National Park. The Tarka Line is the longest, and travels north-west from Exeter St Davids to Barnstaple, winding through the scenic Devon countryside. ROLLING STOCK: BR CLASS 158 DMU GWR (Reused) The Class 158 is a familiar sight in TSW, being seen on the Midland Mainline, As a Scotrail Varient, and now on the Upcoming Birmingham- Shrewsbury route, however, this DMU would operate on the route in GWR livery. BR CLASS 150/2 DMU (Reused) The 150/2 is also a familiar sight in TSW, seen on West Cornwall Local, Riviera Line and is also featured on the upcoming Newquay Branch as well. Its a 3 in 1 Route! you would travel from Exeter in three different directions, rather than being limited to a single branch line or a single route for instance A lot of scenery variety: You'd get urban running around Exeter, coastal scenery towards Exmouth, the Devon countryside towards Barnstaple, and the dramatic landscapes around Dartmoor National Park towards Okehampton. Great Service Length Variety: Short trips such as Exeter to Exmouth could sit alongside longer journeys to Barnstaple and Okehampton. whether you want a long trip, or a short journey, the route offers that choice. Interesting Stopping Patterns: The three branches have different stopping patterns and timetables for each run, as quite a lot of stations on this line are request stops, giving players plenty of services to drive but also to shake it up a bit. Present Day Running: The route in suggesting here is set in 2026, meaning it also includes the brand new and recently opened Okehampton Interchange station. Unlike a Network Route that feels slow and boring like Cardiff City Network, this route shares a lot of similarities to Airedale and Wharfdale Line, with it being a busy, fast and complete network. ROUTE HOPPING: Exeter St Davids - for Riviera Line. CONCLUSION: Overall, a route like this would make a fantastic addition to TSW, and would expand GWRs reach in game. More network routes I'm sold. We already have Exeter St. David's in game. I think we could start seeing hub routes Leeds Station could be used in another route similar to Birmingham New Street and Manchester Piccadilly then build out a network route from the stations.
We not gonna mention the fact that the total route coverage is very nearly twice the length of Riviera, I'm all for this route to but I don't think they'll give us these routes all together.
Not twice, its slightly above Riviera. Riviera is 60 miles. This route here is 65.5 miles counting all lengths of the branches 39 Miles for the Tarka Line 11 Miles for the Avocet Line And 15.5 miles for the Okehampton Branch.
Might be because when people mention Riviera they only refer to the Exeter - Paignton part, and disregard the Plymouth portion.
Exeter to Paignton in TSC is between 20-25 miles long and the apparent distance between newton abbot and plymouth is 26 miles, so I was wrong with 35 miles, but 60 miles is also wrong, do the maths, or math if you're not british
