Well... 1) I activated safety systems in the settings, but deactivated SIFA. As I played the ICE4 in timetable I got SIFA-warnings! So the settings dont work! 2) Live Weather seems more like a Random weather thing! Played Nürnberg - Würzburg (ICE4 timetable): started in Nürnberg, let the doors open then restarted the timetable scenario. First I had clear sky. Then there was few clouds. As I driven along the route several sudden changes happend: from few clouds to complete overcast, less overcast, few clouds, clear sky. No transitions. I thought it got fixed after we saw those sudden changes in Tri-Rail stream? The statement it was fixed - after 1 day! - too good to believe. After that drive I again started in Nürnberg, now it was complete overcast (when I look into my weather app of DWD (Deutscher Wetterdienst) the radar shows no or maximal less clouds, but no overcast in the last hours I drove!) 3) menue settings When playing a tutorial and then a normal timetable I must still change some settings back to OFF as it was before playing a tutorial: "Stop marker" and "Objective marker"! This is now over several TSW versions again the same annoying thing. Depending the menue style: I personally like it. Looks much better than in TSW6. Also the contrast of the "timer" when passengers boarding at stations, the color sheme now is much better visible than in TSW6- The only thing which should improved: which settings in which menue are to find. Sometimes it dont makes for me any sense. Example: In GENERAL there are "Random Behavior" and "Safety Systems" => would for me better fit into "Gameplay" (as seperate menu instead of HUD & GAMEPLAY). Or "Motion Blur" into "Advanced Settings", which I additionally would rename into "Graphics", or perhaps also dived up into normal/easy "Graphic" settings and "Graphic advanced". In ACCESSIBILITY there is "HUD type" => should better fit into menue "HUD". Those only few examples I´am playing on PC
I really do wonder how the software is tested on the various platforms. Apparently, it’s either not tested at all or done poorly. I’m quite understanding about a lot of things, but the basic functions should work. It’s the same thing year after year, and unfortunately the future doesn’t look any brighter in that respect!
-Starting 2 random services with the BR 440, one door doesn't close. must run up to it and finish the AI conductor his work. -BR440, SIFA not on, PZB not on -I enabled all safety systems by default, for BR411 the Neitec isn't on. I think this should switch on with GNT? -Done a few services in all 3 new routes, that AI conductor has to find a new job (sorry, didnt' write down the services, but it is all around) -AI conductor (in england at least) should wait till signal is green?
PS5: if you get too far away from your train in the free cam and try to go back to cab view, it freezes on the loading screen and crashes
Playing DB BR 411 from nuremberg to wurzburg you get a false 130km/h GNT reading around iphofen (or so) GNT together with TSR's is also a bit dodgy
If the gradient display on the HUD is set to 'Automatic' (the default?) it works the wrong way round - i.e. British routes show %age and continental/US show a ratio - edited this bug has disappeared, though I haven't made any changes that I'm aware of. And the live weather still has very abrupt 'jumps' (which doesn't worry me as I use Winzarten's much superior system, and I'm sure it will catch up with the new routes within a few days). But apart from those niggles, performance is much improved. With Epic settings on a 4k screen, I'm still getting 60fps (my monitor's max refresh) - that's with an RTX 5070, AMD Ryzen 9 7900X and 64GB DDR5.
Settings not saving has been a problem on every platform through various TSW iterations, so I was assuming it was also affectting PC players and they could see if that fix was at least still working.
When playing Airedale & Wharfedale Network (UK), on XBox Series X, the HUD display change in the accessibility options is not working correctly. When selecting 'Simple', the simple HUD is displayed with the actual HUD being displayed in the bottom right, which is correct. When changing to 'Minimal' display, there is no change, when in Minimal, the actual HUD in the bottom right should be removed but it is still being displayed which is incorrect. Also when you hover over any of the controls in the main cab, the options available are not being displayed. There are few 'pop-ups' telling you what each control is for and allowing you to access the individual control changes by pressing 'A'. This is not working at all and nothing is being displayed.
You can still select what you want. But yeah, it's horrible to look at. I didn't mind the longer load times
XBOX - I am enjoying the game very much so far and can’t wait for the 15th so my compatible content can layer over BUT one thing that’s annoying is the zoom ahead free cam that’s been added personally I was fine without it and when it was implemented it shouldn’t have been implemented as a permanent feature it should be able to turn off… other than that it’s all good but I would like a disabled/enabled/slow/medium/fast. toggle on it
That camera mode has always been there? Maybe they just changed the default option for you when switching.
I was curious about this happening as the old game crashed toggling through views on long US freight trains. It can't handle keeping two distant views it seems.
I agree i wish i could disable it but keep the smooth slow motion for button presses. or just have a little bit better control over its speed. usually if i need to move the camera fast id use shift on my mini keyboard but even then i rarely used to do it.
Just loaded up TSW 7 and for the most part everything seems better! Love the new routes and stock however a couple of thoughts.. Hill start doesn’t seem to work on the 331 and 333 when using a controller (can’t vouch for consoles here though) random black shadow flickering covering most of the scenery (when departing certain stations) ie Euston, New St, and Leeds, it also happened at the start of British Ace’s video driving the 331 out of Leeds. other than the bugs already reported, the performance and visuals are 10 times better!
I am still coming to grips with the new UI (as far as what minor things have been changed or relocated etc). However, I don't mind the new menu color scheme at all, I think it's rather flash. But having said that, I completely agree with all the issues raised above. ie... 1. Some menu options I feel are under the wrong category. 2. Yellow text in the minimal HUD is distracting. 3. Some menu screens have a background which is quite blinding, even in a well lit room. I believe if these over bright screens like this one... ...instead had the darker "dotted" background like this one has... ...it would go a long way to improve the situation. I think if the art team can get this UI to a standard that most people are happy with, I wouldn't mind if this stayed the default UI theme. Yes sure each TSW iteration will need something new, but you could literally just change the versions "highlight" colors (in this case the magenta, red, orange) to whatever you deem TSW8 colors to be. Just a suggestion
While I think of it, do the new options in the menu below... ...really need to say "Enable" at the start, since you can see from the options that it is either enabled or disabled. The menu doesn't say for example "Enable Volumetric Fog" or "Enable Save Game". Come on team try and keep this stuff consistent. I'd rather they were named... Random Train Behaviours, Safety Systems on by default, Load All Timetable Layers. Note: The text on the right (for safety systems) should then read... Determines whether Safety Systems will be enabled by default when taking control of a train.
I will say performance seems to be a step up from TSW6 for me. I'm not sure if this is due to TSW7 now defaulting to DX12 and this helping me on Linux (CachyOS). I've found stuttering to be greatly reduced and certainly see far, far less red spikes on Steam's performance monitor FPS graph. PC is a 9800X3D, 64GB RAM, 9070XT, playing at 4K (and by 4K I mean 100% screen resolution, no DLSS/FSR, no frame generation, nothing, just pure 4K rasterisation) on high preset, maintaining 60fps in most places except busier stations and areas with lots of trees.
When enable safety systems is switch on this make no difference you still have switch them on yourself. This xbox series x.
The results of selecting timetables layer in the route are not saved automatically and become invalid after restarting the game. Please fix this issue. Please restore the white font on the miniHUD, as the yellow font is too glaring. The gradient display on the miniHUD only shows percentages. Please add a display of thousandths, thank you.
I get stuck on freight hauler after my first drop off. I arrive at the location uncouple the wagons that are flagged as completed but I can't set a new path. No matter how many times I set new path it remains stuck on Neville hill up side arrival.
My only other feedback so far is that whilst operating the camera is mostly fine on Xbox, walking around is dreadful. Pushing full forward makes you move at run speed but if you point the left stick ever so slightly to walk left or right your forward speed drops off unrealistically.
In some Journey chapters the game can't read and show your scores and medals. This seems to be only a cosmetic error because if I go to the timetable mode and find the same service I can still see my score and the medal correctly, so the data is there and it is just not being shown correctly in the Journey screen. Example: Cathcart Circle -> Journey "Desirable Journey" (this is the class 380 journey) -> Chapter "Full Circle". Another example: Midland Main Line -> Journey "Cargo Line: Aggregates" -> Chapter "Midland Construction" PC/Steam
A little more feedback on the TSW7 core: 1/ When working through the SETTINGS menus... go to SCREEN menu and choose "Ultra" as your preset, if you then go to ADVANCED SETTINGS menu, it has Sky Quality set to "Epic". I think this should be "Ultra" instead. 2/ I'm just running the Deluxe package of TSW7 only (I haven't brought over any TSW6 content yet) but when choosing to drive a class 66, why do we already have 3 of the same locomotives to choose from. I had one route in TSW6 that had at least 20 variants and here we are in TSW7 with 3 the same and no other dlc's loaded. This has to stop it's driving me nuts 3/ The Menu music I find it's a bit of a love/hate relationship. From the 5.14 min YouTube video of it I love the part between 0.08 and 3.26, but between 3.26 and 4.43 that part I find very irritating within the game. I don't know if it's because that part always seems to be playing when I'm browsing the settings menus or what. To be fair, in game I have the menu music turned down to 25% and it wasn't till I listened to the video that I realised there was a drum beat in there. All I hear in game is the meeooow meeoow meeoow meeoow part (Sorry Ben).
It’s on PS5 too. So far, I can only speak to the base Deluxe version there, but it’ll likely be the same issue... it started after that quick update.
Why do all my passengers have such bad allergies? The sneeze sound in passenger ambience needs reducing in frequency by like 75%.
It's pretty inconsiderate frankly, the amount of sneezes you hear walking through the carriages, far more passengers ought to be wearing masks for the benefit of everyone else who doesn't want to get the flu or whatever...
I have a question for PS5 and Xbox owners: what convinced you to buy the Deluxe Edition of TSW7? I watched a stream on console. The blurry texture issue is almost certain to appear once layers are installed. Other optimization problems will likely surface later on. Half of the new features are PC-only. I’m still deciding whether to buy TSW7, but for now, I’m leaning towards the free version.
Same for me, I really dont like this faster camera movement based on such a small input range (lots of games use this walk, jog also sadly)
This happened to me,I had to delete all the non tsw mods I had and the pictures loaded in quite quickly then
What on earth are ‘non-TSW mods’? I only know of mods made for TSW; I don’t know a single non-TSW mod?!?
TSW 7 on console is currently nothing but a jumble of bugs. The new ‘Freight Transport’ mode is completely unplayable, as the live map constantly stops accepting route commands, forcing you to reload the game. After that, it works again for 1–2 route commands, and then the same thing happens all over again. This behaviour isn’t new, but it hasn’t been fixed either. Up until now, we weren’t so reliant on the live map, but in the new game mode we are all the more so – the map simply has to work. The poor quality of the game has now escalated into a real problem. New versions are released year after year, but there are no noticeable improvements (on console) – quite the opposite, in fact. The only good thing is the menu music. It’s just not fun anymore.
And then there’s that horribly bright menu! Has anyone actually tested this on a TV screen? You can’t see a thing. You can’t read the text properly, you can’t tell which option is selected – there’s no contrast at all. Only the main tiles are clearly visible. Who on earth approves such a hard-to-read menu? It’s enough to make you bang your head against the wall. Accessibility is completely absent from the game. It’s 2026, and the game’s presentation is stuck in 2019!
PS5 Pro Automatic activation of safety systems doesn't work on all new trains... so I keep it off. The AI Conductor setting always resets to "off," and it doesn't work correctly anyway, so... off. Journey Mode doesn't save earned points, and services don't get medals, making it impossible to complete the Journey system... I'm not using it right now. My profile overview no longer shows ratings for "Favorite Train" or "Favorite Route." The "Cab announcement" audio setting cannot be saved or rather, turned off; it always resets to 100% whenever TSW7 is launched. Layer settings for individual maps can't be saved for future use, they always reset, and practically everything turns back on whenever TSW7 is launched. That’s the actual situation.
