The one I'm talking about, dear Sun_King_135 , is the E94 088 in particular ;)

Which is currently being used only for two railtour scenarios on Ludwigsbahn.

For the "regular" E94 to fit on any of the Frankfurt routes or Nürnberg-Würzburg, these routes would need a massive overhaul to make them period accurate, which isn't very feasible... I don't really wanna pass any Ks signals in my E94, it's bad enough on Linke Rheinstrecke already :|

I’m hoping it appears at the museum at Nürnberg.

That would have been a good mastery if they was still doing them.

Better to have the actual train than a mastery model. The mastery could be something we don’t have.

Like the BR 420, one of which actually is in the DB museum :D;)

Jokes aside, I'd rather have the E94 088 on the route where I can hop in and use it, instead of just collecting dust sitting in the museum :)

    It can do both.

The trouble with it is basically entirely down to memory issues, railtours are basically considered a one hit headache. They're a massive amount of memory (locos+coaches), for very little gain (maybe 1 or two services) so they are nearly universally first on the chopping block when someone makes a new timetable (direct impact). There is the added curse that once a loco/coach gets loaded into memory it stays there leading to potential memory issues down the line too (indirect). So quite rightly people making timetables for new routes may tend to sacrifice rail tours once memory issues start to occur in favour of more impactful services, and adding them to existing routes can similarly potentially cause both direct or indirect memory crashes which nobody really wants to deal with.

So while we'd obviously love to see it more our hands are tied.

Ah okay, makes sense. Thanks for the response :)
It's crazy how much this current method of addon mounting is preventing some locos (or any other rolling stock) from getting the spotlight they deserve...

Would railtours made as scenarios rather than in the base timetable be a better option?

Presumably they only loco/wagon assets need to be loaded then are the railtour itself and what you want to include as AI traffic and static stock.

Railtours are fun as a surprise in timetable mode though. I do hope this issue can be fixed, it seems like a very big one.

It's both the mounting and the actual physical memory footprint of stock loaded while playing the that’s the issue with railtours.

Scenarios is obviously an option, but also not exactly desirable from a development point of view either, mostly down to scenarios being a chore to make and really they want to be "unique" otherwise they may as well be a service. I do recall also being told once that scenarios aren't actually that well played in TSW compared with service mode.

Ultimately, Railtour or oddball (like RHTT/37/9) packs that rely on a handful of services on a route I personally think just don't really work in TSW.

I mean, it's called a railtour pack. Would be nice for it to have some more railtours than just those 2. :D
