Up until the early access launch of TSW7, I had been playing TSW5 on my Series X. The performance and visual gap between PC and console was never as stark as it has become with TSW7. The new graphics and performance settings completely transform the game; it’s a night-and-day difference. I couldn't return to console now, even if I wanted to. Fortunately, I only owned about six routes on console, so rebuying them on Steam wasn't too costly.

I hope the enhanced lighting isn't too far off for console players, as it currently feels like we have been forgotten as paying customers.

I think the PC graphics update is in part one of the reasons why the console fix for blurries seem to have been parked (i can see some 3rd parties working on route optimisation but DTG does seem to be absent in this regard)

Now Dear Old Matt told us last year that console was priority and it shouldn't take 3 months to fix, so about March if I remeber right.

Well something obviously changed and had them divert to concentrate on PC graphics instead and I think we can guess that the reason maybe

Running Train has DTG running scared.

Up until now DTG have not been very responsive to PC owners calling for DLSS etc. Now with Running Train ripping the graphics crown off of TSW's head, DTG have got to feel pressure as more PC owners may start to divert thier attention away from TSW

DTG arrogance and complacency may end up costing them dear.

Gen 8 sales gave now gone.
Gen 9 sales most certainly would have been impacted by the blurries.
Now an upstart could threaten PC sales going forward.

DTG put TSW pretty much into maintenance mode chasing other projects such as Thomas and Metro.

Now though I think it's starting to bite and you know what... I am not sure for how much longer I will give a damn if both TSW and DTG cease to exist

That I don't agree with. Sure, it looks phenomenal and the developer says it will get bigger and better over time...but it's only a single route and will invariably suffer the same burnout as a typical TSW addon does. Definitely enjoy the moment (if you can) but don't expect Running Train to be your 'go to' simulator in the long term.

This is the first iteration since TSW 2020 I don't plan on buying the deluxe version.

I'll just stick with the free upgrade for now so I get the Mildmay Extension and NTP remaster when that comes out.

But for now I'm done purchasing anything until a signifigant improvement with blurry textures is achieved.

Doesn't have to be 100% fixed but I'd like be able to use at least half my layers on a route inltead of 6 out of 32.

Some great points but I just wanted to mention that I still get blurry textures on the 2 JT Carlisle and Crewe routes so I don't think it has been fixed.

Odd, from the feedback it seems it was solved, at least for Crewe to Preston. I had seen some issues people were having with Carlisle though.

I think that’s mainly a ps issue since that hasn’t been much of a issue for Xbox for awhile
