Airedale And Wharfdale Lines Disscusion

Just going to share a discovery I made in regards to the KWVR.
Using mods I went out of bounds at Keighley and managed to drive the entire length of the KWVR, all the trackwork is there including yards/sidings and signals/lineside signs but no scenery (station buildings, etc) ground texturing ends at Haworth.
To me, this looks like the KWVR was planned to be added but then got cut at some point during development.
Maybe this is an opportunity for modders to finish the job and add the missing scenery?

 

Or a follow up by Rivet or DTG themselves, along with a Class 25 or small steam tank engine to sweeten the deal.

 

Just ready and waiting for some new steam choo choo once they have amended all the physics for them...?

I was there last weekend exploring it all.

 

I don't really do mods, but I'd make an exception for that! (Assuming I get the route...)

 

If you wanted to do the steam railway, it would make no sense to have 40 miles of mainline track attached to it, clogging up memory. Better to release it as its own entity.

 

I reported this over 2 years ago and it’s still not fixed!

I’ve got a horrible feeling I’m going to get A&W plus the 333 tomorrow, despite plenty of misgivings about it. As someone accustomed to JT/AABS/ATS build standards, I’m hoping to be pleasantly surprised. Fingers crossed!

 

Early observations are it’s ok, the route looks good, standard Rivet floating assets and trees and plants too close to the tracks and flying through the cab. Both locos seem good and hopefully tomorrow’s patch will sort some of these issues.

 

From my brief experience with the route before downgrading my “purchase” to the free version, yes it’s okay but gives an early TSW vibe. Built by the numbers by people with no real love for the task, compared to JT, Firefly or even AABS who go above and beyond to provide something you can immerse yourself in. It’s not as bad as Cardiff, mainly because it’s a complete network not a sawn off stump, but you can still tell it was built by Rivet - trees everywhere (though thankfully not those dreadful stumps) and scant ground cover - from one YT clip I watched there’s a tile between Skipton and Keighley that just has the bare terrain texture, no ground foliage at all.

 

And (for PC users) LondonMidland is working on a scenery improvement package.

 

Noticed on the preview stream how bad the tree placement (and type) was around Neville Hill. Makes it look like you're in a forest!

Anyone else really annoyed that the workshops at neville hill are all closed off, or is it just me

 

It looks like they've filled in the missing scenery/foliage around Steeton with the update, nice one.

 

There a huge Floating Blocks in the Air, but it was also before the Update

 

In case anyone cares, the Airedale 801 can be used on Peterborough Doncaster if you want to experience improved sounds and have passenger announcements

 

This is another common bug, isn't it? Has it been fixed by now?

 

Is this a PC mod or also available on console?

 

Is anyone having an issue where Crossflatts Station won’t register a station stop?
The distance counter goes to zero and just starts climbing again.

I’ve held short of a full bug report because I haven’t had time to test it without the 158 mod yet. Just curious what others have been seeing.

Purely a speculation point here, but has anyone noticed how far the tracks extend past Holbeck depot? No invisible walls either with some basic scenery as placeholders. A possible Sheffield to Leeds via Kirkgate route for the future?

 

Liking this one a lot. I actually started Journey mode for the first time since like TSW 3 :') Although there doesn't seem to be a lot of traffic.

 

There's a mod available on tscomminity that adds 158s if on pc. Nice to see 158s zooming through.

Are you genuinely surprised that something got cut that was built? I'd imagine the team was told it had to release on a certain date by DTG instead of being allowed to finish their project to it's full specs.

 

Not sure if it's already been mentioned on here yet but can we also please get rid of the female passenger flirting/giggling sounds being heard directly behind the engineer's seat that sounds like she's playing footsies with her boyfriend or girlfriend? It's distracting and annoying while sitting quietly at the platform. I'm about to turn the hose on whatever inappropriate behavior is going on back there. Imagine how the other passengers must feel lol.

 

Agree with you there I'm also fed up of listening to someone sneezing every few seconds.

 

I would suggest going into Audio settings and switching the ‘Internal Passenger Noise’ to zero.

it’s also not intuitive on the PS5. The ‘Apply’ button doesn’t work and the only way to save the setting is to press ‘circle’ (go back button) and you then get offered the save settings box.
