Yeah they should only work going in. Infact, unless you're in something quite small, it's physically impossible to trigger them on departure (the TPWS receiver is more or less under the active cab).

Though, I don't want to level too much criticism here - the fact TPWS is implemented is a massive plus and a real positive for immersion.

 

On pc version at Leeds station when driving at night time there seems to be a weird “chrome looking textures on outside of train and inside cab. Look like something to do with lighting in the station? As all the rest of the stations on route do not have this issue I’ve noticed. Not game breaking but really ugly looking lol.

spawned in and my train has a really shiny effect, I believe someone else on this thread also posted a picture of the same issue issue.

seems to appear on certain times of day. In my case, before sunrise during winter. Maybe a light baking bug!

update: happened at Leeds and Bradford, so maybe areas with alot of light?

Just had it second time now at leeds but first time was at Bradford, 15th September, 7PM.

Fuel hose clipping through rail at Neville Hill depot. Are these ready for the 158's ?

Nice job with giving us the interior of the EMU servicing shed - thanks. Really like to see more depot interiors in game.

 

Good spot, just played that service direction and noticed that also. Disappointing that this wasn't picked up in testing on an otherwise excellent route. I'm a bit of a stickler for accurate signalling so this kind of stuff irks me somewhat.
Hopefully will be fixed but these things always seem to take an age. If only it was like TSC where we could go in a just tick a check box, 10s job.

 

Signal L771 (departing Marsh Lane sidings) position light obscured by bush. It is showing proceed aspect but difficult to see from a driving position.

 

Anyone getting nettles like this? Looks a bit dark to me, maybe my settings though. Have it on Epic foliage. (Must admit, the new lighting does wonders for the foliage apart from this anomaly.)

edit - seems to be fixed in latest patch

 

Fingers crossed a third party modder can step in and improve the 331 sounds cause the latest update has not made them any closer to reality unfortunately.

 

any danger of some stop markers being added? there’s a widespread lack of them on both a&w as well as wurzburg nuremburg

 

It's a good question, but are they there in real life? - don't know, maybe someone with local knowledge will furnish us with some info.

Issue with Class 333 doors.

While trying to play any of the class 33 services I have not been able to open the doors in driver mode. This is in both timetable mode and free roam. However the doors do operate normally in the training model for how to operate the unit. Is there a fix for this???

oh im well aware of the magnetic tape ones, im on about the newer ones sound different (must be because of the muffling lmao)

 

It feels like the newest update has made them further from being accurate if anything.

 

I don’t know if it’s just me but the traction motor sounds on the 331 are on the quiet side of things? I can put my volume up only by so much before the horn gets too loud in my ears, just seems like the volume on the TM’s are on the lower side.

Yeah I’m noticing there’s a lot of sounds on this unit in particular in-game that are quite quiet.

the track joint sounds are also moderately quiet on the external camera.

 

Not fully compiled my feedback for the route & 331 yet but I will say in the times I’ve been on, or near one, I’ve never heard it ghoulishly howl at 20-30mph like it does in game.

 

I was on a 331 3 times yesterday from Bolton - MAN Piccadilly, PIC- Levenshulme and PIC - Bolton.

yeah, they don’t necessarily howl on the interior but it’s kind of the same sound you hear in the cab when the train picks up speed, just the sound of traction motors and inverters changing in pitch as you get up to speed, from what I can recall.

gotta say, they are somewhat quiet at speed but the suspension… felt like a pacer

 

The route itself is good, with several endpoints where you can make multiple round trips.
The only issue, from my perspective, is the scheduled arrival times at the terminals, the waiting times are quite long—around 3 to 5 minutes. Couldn't that be shortened a bit? Because having to wait for the scheduled time to finish the run is a bit frustrating...

 

To be clear it does howl, like most EMUs tend to do, just not in the really artificial way it’s been done. There was definitely an additional whine on acceleration missing prior to this, but it’s really quite poor.

the only sound to me that sounds spot on is the horn, the traction motor sound from 0-16mph and the brake release. I still do feel like there are possible sounds missing along with the volume of the current sounds.

 

In case anyone wonders what a 331 should sound like… The early access sounds were closer to an IGBT DB BR 423 with the whistling sound -the new one is definitely more jarring.

 

The external sounds are definitely a lot quieter since the update. 331s are generally pretty loud.

 

Seems to be a lot of padding in the TT in general, most stops I’m waiting around for 2ish minutes. The Bradford-Leeds shuttles seem ok though, other than the end times.

Once the 158 comes along it might help out with pushing the times down over the day, might just be padded for that.

 

333 is brilliant. The only issue I have with it is the breathing / eating sounds from the passengers at low speed It's somewhat off-putting to say the least. If that's all I have to complain about it can't be too bad right? lol.

The cab rattle clips a tiny bit at the loop but I'm not gonna moan about it.

Everything else about the ambient sounds, 10/10. The first time I heard someone laugh I got a fright though.

 

Yeah I noticed it after the updated yesterday, just sounds a lot quieter.

 

OK so installed the free starter pack and all my DLC. 10 hours later started playing and no improvement to blurry textures whatsoever on older content as I suspected. Series X

Decided to give the Deluxe version a whirl ran class 331 service 2P30.

Knowing there is no improvement to blurry textures right off the bat I cut my layers down to 12/30

Got to the 1st stop Kirkstall Forge and all cab textures have gone to pot.



Needless to say refunded already. And at this point I don't care to play anymore so just uninstalled it all.

Has anyone else noticed since today's update that the class 801 formations are flipped? As in first class is not facing London anymore, but rather is the first car in your formation heading towards Bradford Forster Square or other destinations?

 

That is facing London. The LNER services come into Leeds from one of the branching tracks you pass on services heading toward Bradford out of Leeds.

They arrive into Leeds & the driver switches ends, finishes their run to Bradford (or Skipton/Harrogate) & then has to switch ends again when they come back into Leeds from Bradford & beyond (if they’re going back to London & not Neville Hill).

Drivers really get their steps in at this end of LNERs services!

 

A short distance after leaving Leeds, there is a warehouse on the left, but a high-voltage transmission tower is missing from where it should be.
The high-voltage cables change direction unnaturally.
I believe there should be a tower here, with the line crossing over the tracks.
Please correct this.

Not sure if already reported but Azuma services on diesel in Leeds, should be in electric mode.

 

There are some places with missing or incorrect OHLE.

Playing on Steam doing the Sunday Shuttle Scenario Class 331 and the right hand side door buttons keep being pressed and both times it has happened its the wrong side. Ai Conductor Mode set to Always.

This line has a lot of issues with the overhead lines, doesn't it?

 

I played the Steam version too; it makes a clicking sound, so it's definitely broken.

 

On the 801 anyone else getting head lights switching themselves off on this route and Doncaster/Peterborough.

Even after the last patch update that did improve foliage in some areas and landscapes , the section between Steeton and Silsden to Skipton and the landscape around Cononley still has a lot of scenery issues some fields are still just terrain paint without 3d grass , and some areas close to the track look really bad and low quality , stone walls end into the ground etc and some terrain blending issues please look into this . Well we said DTG should celebrate the 25th anniversary of MSTS, looks like they’ve done it with this route and its level of finish…

 

It's my understanding that the way the "guard" works is that the game effectively creates a virtual player which operates the door controls accordingly, for whatever reason however it tries to close the doors of the 331 from the cab. Either that is a glitch or a bodge-job because the local door controls are broken, my money would be on a glitch and it's just trying to close them from the cab by mistake. To be honest that doesn't really bother me much, I just treat it like a passenger making clicking noises in the cabin.

That said, there are clearly bugs with that virtual guard feature though, depending on the rolling stock it does seem to have an issue at least once during the route where it fails to operate the doors correctly though that can be resolved by the player going down to the affected local door and taking over. It's good to see that it has been implemented on older routes too, the 142 on Blackpool Branches for example has it and it seems to work well

Anyone else noticed that the 801 om this route is a lot slower then Doncaster version.

 

PC-Steam 6D71 Rylstone Quarry to Hunslet East - Part 6 When I emptied the load it still shows as full, then I noticed some near by that were empty so I assume this is a bug.
