Sorry if I make a few mistakes, I'm not an expert in English and I'm using Google Translate a little.

It can be very useful to know this, whether you're more into short trips, medium trips, or long trips. :D

Personally, I could do a 1h45 or 2 hours max if I really like the route (with or without a break), it wouldn't bother me as long as it's at high speed. I couldn't do 2 hours at 50 km/h for example , which is one of the reasons I quickly refund WSR (too slow).

I remember I used to do 2h plus journeys in MSTS but can barely do an hour these days, my attention span is shot.

A double stint is 2 hours, I find that's a good amount of time in a lot more than just sim racing.

Remember when Europeanbahn had the multiple-part ECML that could be combined into one long route? I still have it, and have yet to try a full run on it lol.

Yeah in TSC I could easily do 2ish hour IC runs, but the caveat here is that I love doing 2-3hour runs that are end to end, but can’t stand doing 90min+ runs that aren’t end to end.

Im also not an enjoyer of the end to end runs that are 90+min but only cover like 30miles (ie US routes).

it really depends on the route. if it’s high speed, i could do a couple of hours but no more, but if it’s a commuter/regional train, then an hour is probably the most i could take

It's true that end-to-end routes make a big difference; I also think I could do easily 2 hours if it's an end-to-end route, but I wouldn't have a problem if it wasn't personally.
Also for me to travel for two hours, there needs to be a minimum number of stations where I can stop because I would have difficulty with high-speed trains where, for two hours (or even 1h30) , you only have one station between the departure station and the arrival station.

In TSW I usually stick to 30 min-ish runs.
However in TSC I've done 3-4 hour express runs, I think even 5 hours on Paddington-Penzance and vice versa. Usually the main issues being the game running out of memory and crashing instead of anything with me. Could never imagine doing something like that in TSW anyway.

Yeah I wonder if this is a factor. I used to do Koeln to Frankfurt (classic route) in MSTS all the time, and it felt like an epic journey (I know that's not actually a full service).

Yeah definitely a consideration, take ECML for example, Leeds to KGX is my ideal gameplay design. Takes just over 2 hours, usual stopping pattern of 3 mid run stops & takes you from a regional hub along 2 track lines, gradually becoming a major centre with multiple track & the backdrop of commuter rail.

Then you’ve got the other side of things such as say Holyhead to Chester. It’s no high speed intercity line & you could argue it doesn’t take you between 2 major centres, but is likely more exciting than say London to Birmingham.

It’s definitely something that has so many variables that people will or won’t enjoy, for example Brighton Mainline has been a favourite of mine across both TSC & TSW, I could happily sit going back and forth for 4+ hours (and I have), but switch that to say Edinburgh to Glasgow & I’ve just never enjoyed that as much, even inclusive of the fact BML uses stock that isn’t necessarily my favourite, but E2G very much does.
