Just done the run in the Class 66 from London to Reading on full speed, and it was swaying all over, in fact it made me sick. Would the cab really sway this much?
I've seen a few cab ride videos in a 66 where the driver has the camera strapped to his head* and the image did move about considerably - even slightly nauseating! However the driver does of course move about with the cab so his brain compensates for the movement and it shouldn't affect him. Where we just view it via a flat screen with just the image jiggling about in front of our eyes - which can indeed cause motion sickness. * I'd post one but can't locate them at the moment.
Not a fan of this new feature. At this time I'm having to turn in off each time I start the game. Is there a way to turn this off permanently?
Yeah, I noticed that it always seems to default back to on. I know TSW can't keep track of anything these days, but saving the status of a simple on/off switch should be achievable!
The head sway is pretty good from what I've seen on GWE. Even with new track and new equipment, the cab/seat/drivers head will move around more than you may think.
That's strange, because I have to turn it off every time I start up the game. How do I go about 'saving' the off-status?
Yeah definitely looks like an issue on PS4, I've restarted the game and the setting reset. I'll log this issue.
Dmitri, wanted to bring this back up seeing there will be new content, and I suppose therefore an update, soon. Wanted to know if this issue will be solved then.
Initial reports suggest it's now worse than it was before, showing as off, but actually being on until you switch it on and back off - EVERY SINGLE SERVICE! So, this needs logging again. And maybe undergoing some sort of QC check prior to release!
In my case, selecting an external camera turned it on! The menu said it was off so I had to turn it on and off to get rid. All was well until I used the outside camera and when I returned to the cab, it was back on again.
Yep, confirmed, mine's doing the exact same thing (PS4 Pro). What a ballache to have to keep going in and turning it ON - confirm - OFF - confirm. Guess I'll just have to avoid external cameras from now on - brilliant attention to quality, as ever.
Nice to know it's not just mine. Thanks for the confirmation. I suppose we now have to wait for a patch to the patch. I have sent a ticket. I suspect I'm not alone.
You know, I was sure that I turned it off, only for it to be turned back on the next run. Damn cab sway, had me second guessing myself.
Hi Factor41, Thank you for letting us know about this issue. Our team will look into this as soon as possible, if there is an issue a patch will be provided next week with the release of Canadian National route. Apologies for the inconvenience. Dmitri
There's definitely an issue! I'm using a PS4 and it seems to click back on at every change of camera or position! Are you also on PS4?
Are you [you as in the company] ever going to address the fundamental problems with your QA procedures (or lack thereof)? The number and type of defects that routinely get through to your releases and patches should be extremely embarrassing to any self respecting team/company. Or are you just going to keep either ignoring issues or just keep saying something to effect of "thank you for doing our QA for us for free, we'll get around to patching the patch whenever" whenever you acknowledge defects.
I really wonder why they don't test their product first before launching anything?! Cause sometimes there are stuff (like the cab sway thing) that is difficult not to notice!!! Its really frustrating and sad to be honest. Its like building a website and launching it without testing it first. That's just a recipe for disaster. And there is no valid excuse as to why you can't test the game first before launching it!!! Either you make time to test it out fully, or you hire some beta testers. They aren't that expensive (heck some of them would even do it for free). Think of the image of your company!!!! Act professional and not like a noob.
I'm guessing that they do their testing on the PC version and assume it'll be the same on consoles - when I first mentioned that the cab sway kept coming back on, they couldn't recreate it, until I pointed out it was a PS4 issue. Not sure if the current situation affects all platforms, but I'm guessing it's just us lucky ones!
