Inspired by freight hauler mode, rescue mode could be a new mode for the next Train Sim World release. In this mode you start in a thunderbird locomotive like a class 57 or br 218 at a station, waiting for instructions. You will then shortly receive a message about a broken down train somewhere on the route. Your mission will be to get to that train, couple up to it and bring it to the next station to let passengers off if needed, then drag it to a depot for repairs. After you complete your mission you could end the run then and there, or drive back to the base station and wait for the next mission. I believe this feature would add more gameplay variety with rescue runs currently being locked to a few scenarios. It would also allow for new DLC such as the class 57 for such missions. [IMG]

Could be cool on the NEC with a diesel (P32AC-DM, P42DC, etc.) rescuing a stalled Acela or ACS-64.
The DRS 57 has a cool livery. We should get the Class 57 in game, along with some other new British locos.

Complete with “bang, bang, bang” as you run over the detonators approaching the failed train.
