    ICE 4 (DB BR 412):
    - Turning AFB off does not trigger the warning sound "AFB, AFB, AFB" sound as should.

    - Driving under PZB I passed a 1000Hz magnet. I acknowledged it and run below 85 Km/h for a while but at some point I got distracted and I reached 89Km/h while the 85 indicator was still blinking (the yellow 1000Hz indicator was off already at this point). The emergency brake was not triggered as it should have been. Note: waited more than 5 seconds to make sure the emergency brake was not triggering while the 85 was still blinking to make sure I was not just lucky that I exceeded the limit exactly when the 85 indicator was going to stop blinking.

Please make sure this is fixed. Safety systems that do not work properly are a huge problem.

Noticeable stuttering also occurs on the section between Würzburg Station and the next station towards Nuremberg.

    ICE4:
problem:The reason for the inaccurate speed control of the new version of AFB has not been resolved.

Details:During the fine-tuning process of AFB, it was found that the AFB handle model did move slightly, but the pointer on the MTD may not change, which could result in a maximum difference of approximately 4km/h between the set speed and the actual vehicle speed. Players usually control AFB through the notification bar on the right side of the screen, rather than carefully checking MTD (as there are no numbers on MTD). The notification bar on the right is well coordinated with the AFB controller model, but the yellow dot on the MTD determines the vehicle speed.

Actually, I personally think that many vehicles in the game also have similar issues with throttle control, but power output usually does not require 1% control, so there is no need to worry.

BTW, still wanted to give feedback on this, as I am now in a postition to confirm that the TSW representation of the ICE4 is correct (asked someone who knows better then me):D.

The ICE4 uses the HL (5 bar line through the train) only for emergency braking. All normal braking applications are done by direct braking on each individual waggon, as suspected orignially. This has then no impact on the HL pressure.

The ICE3 is much more conventional, in this aspect. It still uses the HL for normal braking applications (although, different pressure values are used dependant an speed and WB status).

    Thank you, Karnil.
When the service is running on the section leading up to that station,
    the stuttering is severe.

so thats why the analog gauge barely moves and only braking stuff is shown in the digital screen?

Correct! The analog gauge will only move while emergency braking

see, stuff like this is sometimes mentioned in the streams, but not always, and rarely in the articles, and then comes the route/loco/train and ppl like me are wondering what the hell :D ... I understand the majority of ppl will just fire up the game and play, but ppl who have spent thousands of hrs in this game (and ppl much more knowledgeable as well) will notice

as experienced as I am in this game, a lot of what I have learned over time is from this game and its iterations, plus a bit of my own studying... if they are going to introduce sth more updated, more nuanced, closer to reality, thats noticeably different from previous (and often more lenient towards players), it would be nice to point this out

like, hey, this iteration of ICE3 features more realistic standing brake of AFB (if you remember me ruminating about why open doors wont stop the train from departing when Train brake is Released), and its AFB braking is less powerful, forcing you to now do it on your own, closer to IRL.. stuff like this

The brakes on the BR442 Talent 2 seem a bit over-sensitive, compared to previous versions

Not sure if this was reported for this route yet, as I've seen it an issue for rail journeys for other routes, but scores and medals for rail journey for this route are not being saved consistently for the ICE 4 journey, even though it shows you earning them in the route, for both scenarios and regular routes. upload_2026-9-16_11-8-36.png upload_2026-9-16_11-8-36.png upload_2026-9-16_11-8-55.png upload_2026-9-16_11-8-55.png

EDIT: Sorry for the full images...tried making it a small thumbnail only, but it posted both, at least on my end...

    Hello Dovetail Team,

After extensively driving and testing the new ICE 4 (BR 412) over the past few days, I would like to share some detailed feedback regarding realism, audio, door and step behavior, interior details, displays, and the AFB system.

I hope these observations can help improve the ICE 4 in future updates.

    1. Passenger Doors & Step Logic – High Priority

    Step Deployment and Door Control:

Currently, the passenger doors begin opening before the external steps have fully deployed. In reality, the doors should only unlock and open once the steps are completely extended.

The same issue occurs when closing the doors. The warning beeps should continue until the steps have fully retracted and the doors are securely locked.

    Missing Mechanical Sounds:

There currently appear to be no mechanical sounds when the steps extend or retract. Adding realistic audio during step movement would significantly improve immersion.

Additionally, a distinct mechanical "click" or locking sound should be audible when the doors are fully closed and locked.

    Cab Audio:

The passenger door warning beeps and train crew announcements are barely audible from inside the driver's cab. Compared to the ICE 3 and ICE T, the ICE 4 feels noticeably quieter in this regard.

Increasing the volume and/or improving sound propagation into the driver's cab would make the driving experience more realistic.

Missing Roadrunner Audio & Door Status Indication in the Driver's Cab:

The characteristic Roadrunner sound is currently missing from the driver's cab. This includes the departure warning signal from the train manager (Zugchef) and the corresponding sound when the train manager calls the driver.

Additionally, the door status symbol appears to be missing from the driver's cab display.

On the real ICE 4, when the door closing sequence is initiated, the driver's display indicates "Schließvorgang eingeleitet" (Door closing sequence initiated). The door status symbol then flashes yellow throughout the closing process until the train manager has also closed and locked their door.

It would be great to see this functionality accurately simulated in Train Sim World 7, including the corresponding visual indications and audio feedback inside the cab.

If fully implementing the real door monitoring system is not technically feasible, the door status symbol should at least continue flashing yellow until all passenger doors have been completely closed and secured.

This would provide much clearer feedback to the driver and significantly improve the realism of the ICE 4's departure procedure.

    2. Interior Lighting & Atmosphere

Several lighting elements appear to be missing or non-functional:

    - Red ambient LED lighting
    - Ceiling lights in the vestibules and entrance areas
    - Small lights around the passenger doors and entry steps

These lights are particularly noticeable during nighttime operation and would significantly enhance the overall atmosphere.

    Interior Passenger Doors:

The glass sliding doors between passenger compartments remain open indefinitely once opened. On the real ICE 4, these doors automatically close after a short period using sensors.

Implementing an automatic closing function would make the interior behavior considerably more realistic.

    HVAC / Air Conditioning Audio:

The characteristic deep, continuous humming sound of the HVAC system appears to be missing from the passenger compartments and restaurant area.

Adding this ambient background noise would make the interior soundscape feel much more authentic.

    3. Displays, Train Crew Areas & Destination Displays (ZZA)

    Restricted Service Areas:

Several areas of the train are currently inaccessible, including:

    - Bistro/restaurant kitchen
    - Train crew cabin (Schaffnerkabine)
    - Service compartments

If technically possible, allowing players to access at least some of these areas would significantly enhance the level of detail and exploration value of the ICE 4.

    Passenger Information System (FIS):

The passenger information screens could be made more realistic. Ideally, they could display information such as:

    - Scheduled arrival times
    - Current delays
    - Upcoming stations
    - Connection information
    - Simulated advertisements or other realistic passenger information

This would make the passenger compartments feel much more lively and authentic.

    External Destination Displays (ZZA):

It would also be useful to have the ability to manually configure the external destination displays from the driver's cab, similar to how this is handled on the real train.

Currently, the displays frequently show "Bitte nicht einsteigen" (Do not board), even in scenarios where a proper destination display would be more appropriate.

    4. AFB – Automatic Traction and Braking Control

The AFB system could also benefit from further refinement.

Currently, the system sometimes reacts too slowly to changes in gradient. This can cause the train to exceed the selected speed before the AFB responds sufficiently.

In other situations, the braking response can feel unnecessarily abrupt.

A more precise and realistic AFB response to gradients, speed changes, and braking requirements would significantly improve the driving experience.

    Overall

The ICE 4 is a very welcome addition to Train Sim World 7, and I greatly appreciate the attention to detail that has gone into its development.

The points outlined above are primarily intended to improve realism and immersion. In particular, proper door and step synchronization, missing mechanical sounds, Roadrunner audio, realistic door status indications, interior lighting, HVAC audio, FIS behavior, ZZA functionality, and AFB response would make a noticeable difference.

Thank you for your excellent work on Train Sim World 7 and for your continued efforts to improve the ICE 4. I hope this feedback will be helpful for future updates.

    Best regards,

Another thing that just happened on Rail Journey mode on ICE 4, if you have the random track faults on the track director can put the fault warning marker RIGHT after the LZB block begins (assuming you have LZB mode on), causing your train to immediately lock up the brakes and slam you back down to 30 mph before you know what's happened, even with AFB off. It releases after it gets low enough, so I guess it accomplishes its purpose, but I'm guessing the fault markers weren't meant to be randomized right behind the LZB sign, I could be wrong though.

Others have noted but I will reiterate that for the BR 440 there should not be any Wachsam/PZB acknowledgement sound, except for when an active magnet is awaiting acknowledgement. However, on Series X when using the button to acknowledge PZB or Sifa, the tone always sounds no matter what, which is incorrect and results in a lot of unnecessary alerts during a service.

A few questions regarding the 412. Why does the yellow AFB dial look so different. It should be a yellow diamond and it should be in between the white lines of the speedometer not above it. It also completely disappears when entering a LZB zone.

Something less important and maybe im just deaf or they used a whole lot of WD-40 but both the cab door and the door of the switch cabinet don’t make any sounds when opening or closing them. Are they that quiet irl?

And are the headlights supposed to be this dim? From what I could find online you are supposed to see more.

Could someone tell me if this is a bug?
The platform number sign on Platform 1 at Kitzingen Station reads "1/9." Is this correct?

On the turntable with wires at Würzburg, whilst the locomotive is operable in the area, the pantograph isn't raised. I suspect this is due to there being no proper OHLE in the area.

ICE 822 from Nürnberg to Würzburg with the ICE 3 starts at platform 7 at Nürnberg Hbf. The departure signal shows Sh1 (shunting signal, red with two whites), while it should show Hp 2 (green and amber) or even Hp 1 (green) instead.
I didn't think too much of it, considering DTG's track record with German signalling, and tried to pass it with PZB Befehl, as I would any other Sh1. Got a penalty brake regardless.

So far, the new route is no fun for me. Driving along it feels more like a chore than a joy :|

Well so far I'm not impressed. The route is... nice, the scenery is well done, especially the Nürnberg/Fürth area. The landscape isn't very faceted though, but that's what I expected... it's how this region is in real life ;)
Driving here feels tedious to me, not much fun. So far I started 7 services with the 440, 145 and ICE 3, of which I completed 2 and aborted the others for some reason or another. Not sure if its the route or the 440, but it just doesn't sit right with me. The 440 is just another generic stick-pusher EMU, and apart from having its own cab layout, drives very much like a 425 or 442, or the ÖBB 4024.
I might come back to the route after the first patch(es), but for now I think I'll let it rest a bit :)

I think the scenery is nice, it performs ok and the variety in services is good. If they can fix some of these early bugs, it can be a great route.

    Thanks for your feedback.
It does feel a bit sluggish, doesn't it?
If the stuttering were reduced, it would be enjoyable, but as it stands, it just gets tiring.
The stop duration at Nuremberg for S-Bahn arrivals and departures is a bit of a hassle.
I’d like the in-train announcements on the BR 442 to be a bit louder; right now, they are barely audible—little more than background noise.

All of mine were in timetable. Maybe worth mentioning as well, never started a service at Kitzingen itself, I always started in Würzburg and turned the train around in Kitzingen. Not sure it’s relevant or not, thought I mention it, though

The BR 440 services on RE10 ending in Würzburg at Platform 8 have the problem that the two units are a bit too long for beeing stopped by the signal in the middle of the platform. As a player you can stop with high risk of overshoot the signal some centimeters to the signal, but still the last door will be oputside of the passanger platform. AI trains will stop even some meters away, so going back to Nürnberg starts behind the outbound signal...
For 1-unit-trains it would be perfect, but for 2 units they should get the whole platform.
    Screenshot 2026-09-19 232634.jpg Screenshot 2026-09-20 000158.jpg

On the Maintalbahn to Milterberg you can now choose the electric BR 440 for the diesel services...;-)

The RE30/31/32 services in Nürnberg never spawn trains in my game. They are delayed forever. I have the RE30 layer with the BR 612 from Tharandter Rampe enabled. The RE7 in Würzburg works fine with the 612.

It's that way in real life. I watched an ICE4 cab ride and the driver said he expects to be stopped by adverse signals and would consider himself lucky the day he can just pass without a stop. And this is a high speed train, so it must be even worse for commuters.

For the BR 440: Can DTG look into the possibility of linking the +5 / -5 Buttons of the tempomat to the controller, like it is on the Talent2? As it it now, having to use the mfd all the time, it’s too much of a hassle to use the tempomat.

Has the controller bind for the AFB confirm on the controller changed? I used to be able to confirm speed changes with the operations shift and d-pad, but it doesn't work anymore. Would be nice to get that back, as panning to the stick with the controller is quite a hassle. PS5

Are driving the vectron if so then its bugged because they add the function to swith the bell on/off in us freight trains. That create the bugged that stop the afb being set. If that makes any sense to you.

Yes, and I expected as much. For the Vectron, this is not a good deal as it requires to confirm the set speed :-(

    Platform: PS5 Pro

I wanted to note that this route is afflicted with the blurry texture issue on PS5. I was driving an ICE4 into Würzburg when I noticed the blurriness. It's quite disappointing to see the blurriness problem in one of the flagship TSW7 routes when DTG has been aware of the issue for so long. It leaves the impression that the route was not properly optimized for PS5 prior to release. The route is otherwise highly enjoyable, so it would be awesome if the blurriness could be fixed. Thank you!

    Vehicle = DB 412 / ICE 4
    Platform = Steam / PC
Issue = The ICE 4 is incredibly easy to derail even at low speeds, far more so than any other train.

I test trains G resistance in a custom scenario around the metro loop, finding what speed they reach before derailling.
    Examples
    ICE T = 172kph
    Class 350-4 = 173kph
    Class 700 = 163kph
    Class 805 = 148kph
    Class 331 = 160kph

The ICE 4 derailed at only 118 kph, far lower than any train I've ever tested. For reference, the next lowest speed is the Class 802 at 143kph. Surely, for a train capable of 260kph to be so sensitive cannot be realistic.

And yes, I know you could just drive slowly and under the speed limit but thats not the point.
The point is that I feel the train's physics are fundamentally broken for it to derail so easily and it should be ammended.

Just a warning for anyone doing the journey mode, discovered a fun little thing on the BR440 when loading into a saved game. It's apparently a feature now when loading in a "Resume Last Played" that the train automatically engages its emergency break as soon as you load into the save. No buttons pressed when I saved, none when I loaded in, so it appears the game decided to do it on its own volition as soon as I loaded into the save. It appears related to a PZB fault being triggered, but I don't recall running through any warning signs without acknowledging prior to saving...but who knows maybe I'm mistaken. Regardless, for anyone that runs into a lock on the 440 for similar reasons, it appears that pressing the PZB isolation button on and off will release the brake eventually once you're stopped.

Editing my post to add another issue...it looks like for the rail journey for the BR440 that it's giving experience for the Dresden-Chemnitz route, as opposed to Wurzburg-Nurnberg. I know this train is taken from that route, but come on DTG, at least give us experience for the correct route. upload_2026-9-22_11-10-28.png

Which signal at Nuremberg Station are you referring to?
I previously reported in another thread that the R30 signal at Platform 30 was unlit...
On the Ingolstadt route, when approaching from the Ingolstadt direction, the R30 signal displays green if there is no train ahead and red if there is.
However, on the Nuremberg–Würzburg route, it was merely for show—completely non-functional—at the time of release.
Looking at the latest patch... does it light up green now?
    One more thing:
I encountered this while driving the S-Bahn. At Nuremberg Central Station, when approaching Platform 1, there is a Track 30 and an "R30" signal. The HUD shows a "proceed" (green/blue) indication, but the signal itself displays nothing.
On the Ingolstadt route, the signal does show the indication.
One of these is a bug. Could someone from Germany please tell me which one is correct?
