Ok So when you spad, in a run or stream do you do a forfeit / punishment? So. I generally keep a log of every route I drive in my livestreams. I also keep a tab on Spad free livestreams that I have had. Currently 6 (as of last night). The record was 17 upto a few weeks ago lol. So it was suggested by a member of my discord that as punishment for spadding, I had to either do a Service, Scenario or Journey* on Dresden Chemnitz. I hate that route, with a passion. Its just a bloody borefest. So I ran it last night (as it was the first time I have managed to run TSW 7 on the PS5 with all my DLC installed, well most as I didnt install Arosa or Bernina Linie and DLC's as I dont like them either). Yeah it definitely more eagle eyed and johnny on the spot in making sure I dont spad in the future, as I dont want to drive Dresden Chemnitz. I usually call myself a stupid ducking runt. Then repeat with feeling when I realise I hadn't bothered to save en route and it's a non stop run so no checkpoints.
If i SPAD i make my self start the job from the start again and call myself every name under the sun.
If I SPAD, I do the red light glitch, save the game right when it happens, go back into the save game and continue from there
Nah, I consider the failed service enough punishment. Especially when I have been underway for quite some time.
Maybe its the real-world experience in me, but I've never actually had a spad? Not really sure how you can to be honest, you get enough restrictive signals beforehand.

I wish SPADs were slightly more lenient than an instant game over, especially when you’re braking and overshoot by a couple of inches… especially when the speed limit signs only apply once the whole train has passed them
It almost never happens to me, I'm quite serious while playing the game. But when it happens, it's an instant shutdown of the console, the same I do when I'm driving through a station I was supposed to stop at. Maybe it's not ment to be as punishment, but I consider myself as to tired to proper concentrate.
I sigh deeply and my wife will look up from her book or iPad and say “you died?!!”, I’ll say “kinda”, call myself a stupid spad (because it’s a perfect insult) and either try again or give up for the day.
Increases in speed apply once the whole train has passed the sign/limit, decreases apply as soon as the nose passes the sign/limit.
It's rare I can do much to prevent a "SPAD" since for me it's often a "green to red" or something so I don't get too upset about it. More...disappointed since it's often a game bug. The few times it's been me for not braking fast enough into a station or something on a scenario I don't feel the need to "punish"... I just take it as a point to do it again and learn from it. I think the time wasted is already a "punishment."
personally i very rarely spad but when i do, it’s not a big issue in terms of ruining the service. as an xbox player i've become accustomed to pausing and saving whatever run i’m doing every 10 minutes or so, just in case it crashes, so even if i spad i've never lost too much progress
No but when a rather major mistake is happening i take a few mins for reconstruction why it occured. Basicly to avoid a second time. I do no Hud only. All countries. Maybe its time to evolve your punishment? Ingolstadt - Kassel at 40kmh .
Ah memories of playing the "Network West Midlands" route on OpenBVE, had a skinful in the pub and came home to fire up the sim and have a quick express run from Maybank to Hammerwich, would be running on greens for almost the whole way so dozing off wasn't an issue, I'd hit the AWS speed restriction magnet just outside Hammerwich which would then dump the brake and I'd wake up approaching the station throat at a couple of MPH with the AWS still buzzing away, fun times :p
