When I applied the brake, I can no longer apply any power, even in the Introduction to the F40PH after I have stopped at the Sunnyvale station, when it requires to go forward it will not

    Here is what I do
    1) release the brakes
    2) apply some power, at this point the needle in the HUD for the power does not move, the A is still at 0

What is it that I am not doing right

    Thank you in advance

I think you tripped the Emergency Brake and you have to reset PCS. Put the brake handle into emergency, put the reverser in neutral and wait 90 seconds. You should then be able to release the brakes, put the reverser into forward and carry on.

You have to be really careful when stopping the F40ph that you don't:

    a) Trip the emergency brake and have to reset the PCS as per Anthony's post above.

    b) Turn off the engine by dropping the throttle an extra notch past Idle to Stopped. Always reduce power steadily and then make sure you don't touch the reduce throttle control again once it's on idle. It's very easy to turn it off entirely - if the PCS light isn't on, it could be this.

Also check that you haven't knocked the reverser out of Forward - the throttle won't move off zero in Neutral.

On that note, is there any quick way to restart the loco if you were in the cabcar and killed the engine from there, without getting out and walking up to the F40?

Not that I'm aware of. Save regularly, and re-load from there if you do it! :D

    How would you accomplish that?
