Another 3GB Update Patch has gone live. This is the second update for Train Sim World this week. We should get Patch Notes very soon...
Wonder if this is actually a fix for some of the newly broken stuff, or just an enabler for the Canada DLC.
Seeing as it's 3 Gb I'd say it's for the Canada DLC. Hope that there's a fix for the motion sway somewhere in there though
Nope, still doing whatever the hell it wants after the update! Had a feeling it was way too efficient for them to be rolling out a bug-fix patch that quickly.
You could be right, but my guess is that they don't actually do this - apart from being unethical, it doesn't make any business sense. If DTG intend to build a £10,000 back-catalogue of DLC, and install it all on everyone's PS4 whether it has been purchased or not (and without a key if you have not paid for parts of it), then anyone with a 500GB HDD is going to very quickly become an ex-customer. For me, my PS4 HDD has said the following about TSW: ver 1.31 - 40.1Gb (ish) - before 13th Feb ver 1.32 - 39.88 Gb - on 13th Feb ver 1.33 - 41.51 Gb - on 14th Feb, around 2.00pm UK time So - a 1.6 Gb increase from yesterday's patch, which itself caused a decrease in size from the previous version, but an overall increase of about 1.4Gb since last week's version... LOL... if that makes sense... If everyone has a build on PS4 that is currently 41.51Gb in size, after today's update (the Valentine's Day Messicre Update)... then that would indicate that they push out all the data for DLC to all consumer machines, whether or not they've been purchased, and that upon purchase you actually do just get a key, and instant access to the DLC without further download. So... inevitably.. this leads me to the quite unfortunate question.... How big is yours...?
Nice. Mine's 40.96 GB for 1.33 on PS4 - I guess what we're hoping is that someone with hardly any DLC will report a much lower number. I have all the routes except TVL and ECW, and of the locos, I'm only missing 31, 33, Heavy Freight and Amtrak, so I'd expect to be amongst the larger installs.
I am tempted to use one of the standard lines of defence which goes something like: "TSW is a Simulator - so although the UI appears to give you a choice it is merely a simulated choice, and if you make the wrong decision about your personal preferences, then that gets corrected for you." Or there is the other gem (which unlike the one above, isn't partly made up... and what follows is the very real advice that DTG Support gave to me, in pretty much exactly the following words): "TSW is a vastly complex bit of software, and although we do lots and lots of testing, sometimes, sadly, the odd error or bug can slip through the net." You gotta laugh, because if you didn't laugh about it, then you'd have to cry.
That's a good one. Except the complex simulation is the bit that mostly works. Basic counting on the other hand...
Yes, mine is similar, but with different options, as I have everything up to TVL so no ECW, RRO, and of course hopefully no "purchase ready" OSD, and I am missing three loco DLCs (Amtrak, BR 182, and Baby Bullet). EDITED TO ADD: So, if anyone in Support wants to IM me some DLC codes, to apologise for the atrocious way that I was treated, as a (then) brand new customer seeking Support for the first time, then you know what codes to send me.... That extremely poor experience, which happened before I made a single post in these Forums, is the main thing that has informed and coloured my personal views about DTG, and it still does, to this day. I still haven't had any sort of apology, although I was advised that the working methods for the Support Team were under review..., but since then, it looks like their performance has got a heck of a lot worse...
Wow mine is 32.12 GB in total on PS4 with MSB, LIRR and WSR DLC installed all together (version 1.33 as well).
Naughty question, that I thought I saw around 54Gb before 1.32, but I can't be sure. I'll update to 1.33 toninght and come back to let you know. But it'll take a while, my slow internet connection at home don't like the large patches DTG release :S
The NTP fix is most welcome, as I don't always run a route in one go and have had that bug a few times.
I don't understand how the patch can be 3Gb with only these two fixes... It'll probably take me 90 minutes to two hours to download
And fix the East corridor it said that Boston to Washington but we don't go there you get off at Newark Liberty Airport that's not right need a fix that put that as a patch.
People just don't bother reading the thread, or the patch notes. Anything to moan despite the information available to them.
33.17Gb. That's the updated TSW original (not with the 2020 routes) at v1.33 with 3 routes and 2 loco packs. One being WSR and its class 33 - so not that big. So perhaps there's not so much in the way of hidden additions. Actually on the store page of each DLC it gives you size of the download. For instance the two recent ones - East Coastway 2.6Gb, class 31 53.9Mb.
That's with all available DLC except for the two extra loco's that come for WSR (BR33 and 52 if memory serves)
