The Hammersmith & City Line is a 15-ish mile tube line from West London at Hammersmith to East London at Barking Via Central London. This route would be a mega project as it’s dense & major underground running proposes risk due to lighting issues but if Dovetail or a 3rd party were to succeed it would be a massive hit among metro-esque route lovers and a fan favourite of mine overall! Stations: Hammersmith Goldhawk Road Shepherd’s Bush Market Wood Lane Latimer Road Ladbroke Grove Westbourne Park Royal Oak Paddington Edgware Road Baker Street Great Portland Street Euston Square King’s Cross St Pancras Farringdon Barbican Moorgate Liverpool Street Aldgate East Whitechapel Stepney Green Mile End Bow Road Bromley - By - Bow West Ham Plaistow Upton Park East Ham Barking Fleet: S7 Stock This route uses S7 stock which are different from your average Tube train they closely resemble National Rail Trains and one of my favourite trains built. Would love to see it but It's not likely that DTG are going to make any London Underground Routes considering how Bugged the Bakerloo Line is.. But who knows?
I know, I did mention that at the start, if they were to tackle it, it would be a big job and would take atleast a year or two to perfect it
I'd love to see the S7 Stock in game, much better than those faux-D78 Stock we've got as a layer on a couple of routes.
dtg have said multiple times that they’re unlikely to be doing another underground line anytime soon, now i’m no expert but if light baking is the main issue then i don’t think a subsurface line is impossible. i can accept that a deep level line is too difficult, but the h&c is mostly above ground
Not sure what the 'average Tube train' is, since there are various types of various ages across the network. The S Stock is more modern and has more bells and whistles than the A, C and D Stock it replaced, but different? Ultimately it's still a 4th rail DC sub-surface Tube train, and I don't see how it closely resembles mainline trains, any more than other Tube trains.
The C stock has a more traditional melodious DC traction sound than the S stock, at least from my limited experience travelling on the latter (I try and avoid London these days, mainly because you never know when GWR is going to descend into chaos and leave Swindon passengers stuck for 5 hours).
anything else London Underground would be most welcome. I would love to see a 90s East London Line with Met A stock mixed with Network SouthEast EPBs at New Cross Gate etc, but that'll never happen
I’m going to try and reply to all of these in one message. The H&C is subsurface and runs mainly above ground so I suppose it wouldn’t be the biggest problem unlike the Bakerloo line where it can get abit complicated as a lot of it runs underground, I suggested The S7 Stock as it’s my preferred stock, fast acceleration and ability to maintain speeds on steep gradients, the S7 or any subsurface train in general, in my opinion resembles a main line train and is different to what you see on Deep Level Tube services that’s why I like it but that may be claustrophobia speaking. I chose the H&C Line as it’s short but long enough and intertwines with many of the existing routes. I hope you come back to see this thank you!
