My local station is very well represented and what I've found is I've been able to use tsw to understand the layout of somewhere I'm visiting before even arriving
I travelled back to the UK for Christmas and ended up sitting behind the cab of a Class 323 from Manchester Airport to Piccadilly, I could pretty much anticipate all of the AWS magnets Thought I'd grab a cheeky photo from the footbridge I also went down to London a few days later and stopped off at Victoria (Sorry for the poor quality, it's a still from video footage edited on my phone) JB
The 2 London Overground lines are bang on and that’s quite an achievement in an urban environment. Especially the MildMay Line by Incredible Trains as it comes with double decker buses, a huge omission from the DTG route.
Yes! Absolutely, I used to spend a lot of time around Gravesend (SEHS), Clapham Junction (BML) and have been to a lot of the other places in other routes a handful of times. The accuracy is excellent for all really. Especially SEHS
I've went between Prestong and Blackpool North on a pacer countless times in the 80s and have so much nostalgia for that route. Manchester Piccadilly looks great. As do Levenshulme, Heaton Chapel and Stockport stations where I've stopped a good few times. Likewise Burnage and East Didsbury. I know they don't render the far background stuff well, but coming over the bridge on Hyde Road I stopped and the bus shelters, car wash place etc were spot on. I could kind of figure out where I used to live as well, but the relationship I was in at the time wasn't healthy it made me feel some stuff I wasn't prepared to. Even when I was at Paddington a couple of years ago I was impressed by how accurate it is. The attention to detail is great.
Thanks to Noir for reviving this post because it’s reminded me of something I wanted to say. I’ve been playing this game for a couple of months and the whole draw for me getting the game was the chance to travel on the Cardiff network. I used to live about a two minute walk from one of the stations and travel on the network every day for the best part of two decades. For the past 9 years I’ve lived in China, and I have to say that I found visiting my old journeys on my PS5 was actually surreal in how it transported me through time. The places where the drivers would coast or apply throttle and the various clicks and clacks of the 150s and 153s as they go over the rails is very realistic (at least in my memory). I understand the criticisms the game and that particular DLC get, but I think we have to acknowledge that there are a lot of details that the developers get right.
