Hello, I just had a flashback about playing MSTS as a kid. On some scenarios I remember that deers were crossing the tracks and you had to flash the headlights and turn on the horn to scare them. That could be a simple, but interesting addition to the game.
Although I like it, I don't think companies such as Deutsche Bahn or CSX would like having virtual dead deers on their virtual trains. It is a great idea, but I think only aftermarket companies would be able to create such interesting scenarios. They don't have to worry as much about licensing. (We need the Editor for that though XD )
On the topic of animals.. some non-hostile ones would be nice though. Cows in the field, pigeons on the platforms, seagulls, stray cats, passengers having dogs...
I wasn't really aiming for collision with animals near tracks. For example, if you don't flash the lights or sound the horm, they still won't be hit, but they will run across the tracks much closer to the locomotive.
Wow those look good! Its that kind of thing that starts bringing the route to life. Im looking forward to having a look at this one and Im excited enough to have pre purchased- this from someone who was vociferously vocal and critical during the course of the last year or so. Good effort and Im also pretty excited that feedback is being incorporated. This bodes well for the future of the franchise imvho. Credit where its due- this is starting to look beautiful, and I dont use that word lightly.
these screenshots from old routes, animals near the tracks and in the fields have been taken for a long time
It looks magnificent! Has anyone tested it when setting weather settings to winter? will they disappear in the snow? really curious about that.
I'd love to see a bird or two fly out of a hedge as a train approaches every so often. Doesn't need to be high detail if its moving fast and is a little distance away.
