I'd be very surprised if we get another console preview stream for anything.

On Xbox Series X it actually loads faster than TSW6 did.

2:34 with 130 DLC installed. Where in 6 it was around 5 minutes.

There may still be pre-recorded preview "live streams". DTG were doing this kind of pre-recorded live stream previews for some time for TSC routes, before they completely switched the focus to TSW. There were also in the past some TSW live streams with pre-recorded gameplay (was it in 4up challenge), but still with live commentary. This way they can avoid showing some of the issues live, but still presenting how it should look in perfect conditions on a console.

Those 4-up challenges used to be fun. I get why they'd have to pre-record them as it'd be a nightmare to try and stream something like that live.

    120 dlc, 66 routes, standard PS5 - 3:32.34.
Not as bad as some have it, and it's okay for me, but I don't own more recent routes which are likely to be of higher density.

I don't mind the lack of visual improvements on console at the moment, Id just love to be able to run the routes I have with the layers I have without having blurry textures and having to scope out content a week before buying it.

I'd just love the game to work :D

A working game should absolutely be a priority - but I don't agree with having to downgrade the capability of my console because developers can't achieve higher quality standards....doing that is just a process of having to unnecessarily lower my levels of expectation.

I'm not saying we should go without, just that a working game that does what it's supposed to needs to be sorted before building and adding other bits like lighting and enhanced graphics.

If they added all the fancy new graphics options but my routes and are still blurring, there's crashing and I can't use any layers it's pretty pointless in my opinion.

Yep, that's also been my experience - TSW7 definitely loads faster on my Series X than TSW6.

If anything I'm playing more, though this is more down to increased free time.

Perhaps they're trying to entice and increase a wider PC player base to counter the possible declining console player base? Especially if the issues are proven difficult or even impossible to ever fix...

While I assume the amount of players here on the forum only make up a very small portion of console players overall, judging by the poll from this thread, it seems many are playing a lot less in this already niche game. Moreover, even for a wider console audience, surely with the continued issues, people are eventually going to get fed up and also not bother with more content or later iterations? And for attracting brand-new fans to the series, how are they going to keep them engaged when met with potential blurred textures and video memory errors. So, it doesn't surprise me if there seems to be a shift towards more PC focus and less console - which is completely wrong considering TSW was meant to be for both console and PC.

Without console, TSW wouldn't have existed in the first place!

Something which should be worrisome for DTG, because the console market is where TSW has something like a monopoly presence. On The PC side, there are LOTS of train sims.

oddly i’ve actually played tsw7 a lot more regularly compared to tsw6, despite it being arguably even worse on consoles. the core routes are really good this year (well the uk and german routes at least, tri rail i haven’t played), and driving those has also led me back to lots of routes i haven’t touched in a little while. the past week i’ve done a few hours on mac, 4 or 5 runs on trent valley and even ny-trenton.

Might being knit-picky but i refuse to play NY-Trenton after being spoiled with the signaling on Morristown and NEC: Metro North. The signaling is awful and i like playing with safety systems. Plus the scenery is looking pretty dated. Here’s hoping it ever gets a remaster..

I'm on PS 5. Lately I have been playing Nurnberg-Wurzburg and the Leeds route, mixing it up with Ingolstadt and Trent Valley.

I see it as a continual timeline anyway, just installed TSW7, kept the content from the base game I liked and just carried on. The new features don't appeal to me anyway (except that the safety systems are on by default), so nothing has changed as far as I'm concerned.

Having downloaded the free TSW7 version for all my older content I've got to say that I am surprisingly enjoying playing it. Big plus points for me are:-
    1. Field of view adjustments
    2. Free camera speed
    3. Improved dynamic weather
    4. AI conductor (makes it easier to drive completely hudless)
I know there is plenty of work to be done with some of the newer features (and older ones) but I feel this is all positive and let's not forget this version is FREE.

    Interesting points.

Firstly, polls can be extremely useful because although the results don't represent the entire TSW playerbase, they still offer a general (but not completely accurate) overview of feelings as a whole....and that's why governments and the likes continuously sanction hundreds upon hundreds of these polls.

Also, I think you're forgetting that despite quality standards being highly questionable of late, people are still prepared to buy content for TSW because after all, if you enjoy driving pretend trains and TSW is your only serious option to do so then why wouldn't you?
But here's the thing These forums also include feedback threads containing both positive AND negative comments from those self same people! Not exactly a case of hiding behind their purchases, is it?

I am going to partly agree with your final point though but what I will say is that there's a big difference between "herd mentality" and sharing a common belief. In certain sectors of TSW 'community' it's painfully obvious that "not recommended" is the cool thing to do (a point I've already discussed) because justified or not, everybody loves getting those likes and awards for knocking Dovetail Games...herd mentality, you know the drill.
The forums though? You can say what you like about forum negativity but when you consider that in amongst those people deeply unhappy with the current direction of TSW are also folk who live & breathe all things trains (yeah, kinda weird....but I love driving round in circles for 400 laps at a time so I've got no room to talk;)), so from a personal standpoint I'm not seeing a scenario where folk are whipping up hatred just for the sake of it...all I'm seeing is a bunch of gamers who happen to share a common belief that Dovetail Games should be doing better than they currently are.

But hey, we all see things differently and I guess that's why this forum is what it is:)

I still check the forum everyday, because I like reading what people like Vern are posting and you become familiar with these people, almost like friends (well acquaintances anyway!).

And i like to check on the off chance that things have turned the corner.

But I have not played the game since Feb, other than a quick look at the 7 starter pack.

So no, you do not have to actively be playing the game to remain active/interested in the forum and the game's goings on.
