I'm on PS5 and noticed since the recent patch that Hybrid setting for Ai conductor doesn't work properly. Tried various trains, sometimes doors won't open, sometimes they do, sometimes 1 set of doors doesn't close. The only route that worked correctly was the new Airedale route. Class 331, 333 and 43 worked great. It seems any route before TSW7 has issues.
Xbox Series X All medals and scoring have also disappeared/broken on the class 31 and class 20 journeys on TVL as well as on the 171/377 pack
Have finally found a bit of time to play for some serious sessions. My initial comments in another thread that performance had improved on PC doesn't seem to apply to all routes / timetables and I'm starting to think it was a placebo effect. Crewe-Preston was particulary stuttery this evening, to the point where I thought the game was about to crash (system specs in signature) No comments about the new routes since I've stopped buying DLC until the 90 is a finished product (six months and counting)... - UI - overall: The TSW6 UI was fine, it didn't need a new "light colours on light colours" scheme that hurts the eyes. Why was this choice made? Put it back please. - UI - Timetable mode: When selecting a train in timetable mode, you can barely make out which train is selected because of the colour scheme. Also the selection seems to be in the right-hand column by default. Why was this choice made? - UI - Timetable mode: Train thumnails either take forever to load or don't load at all. In fact the latter scenario seems to happen ALL the time after a first run on a route, which to me suggests that "testing" involves playing a few minutes of a route and then quitting the game. The old UI took longer to display the timetable page but at least it would display the trains. Also, it's just a cache of small images, why is it being reloaded every time we open the menu? - UI - Timetable mode: We should really see the name of the route somewhere on the train selection screen... If you're going to redesign the user interface you should at least be looking at what's missing and what doesn't work, like cases where hitting back / escape doesn't take you to the previous screen but throws you right back to route selection. - HUD - Driving: What is the yellow text warning us about? Why was this choice made? - HUD - Walking: How many years are we going to have to wait for a fix for the HUD compass / clock that doesn't disappear when you... hide the HUD? - AI Conductor: Where do I start? Doors opening on the wrong side, doors not opening at all, destination HUD and destination marker regularly disappearing when the conductor opens the doors, so that you can't see your next destination, or your arrival time, or the current time.... My "why was this choice made?" comments are obviously tongue-in-cheek, because they're all either bugs, features that haven't been thought through, or development time that was wasted on something useless or that actually made the product worse. In my company we have a notion of "value" on all feature requests. A request to make the HUD text yellow for no reason would typically be assigned a value of zero with a comment that no customers had asked for it, and would be canned in favour of something useful, like working on the huge backlog of bugfixes for things that have been broken for years. Examples of this would be my "compass HUD" remark above, or the bug when disabling the "Enable UGC substitutions" options that means it doesn't simply disable UGC content from *spawning automatically* as intended, but instead *completely removes it from the game* (disappears from the spawn menu, formation designer and scenario planner). Any remaining development time after the major bugs have been fixed should then be spent developing features customers *have* asked for, like a working save feature. That's how you get them to spend money on your product.
PC Steam. BR363 any version and any route - does not include PZB. I turned off the automatic activation of safety systems - it has no effect, the PZB is still unavailable, although I tried to turn it on manually. Updated. Only versions from the Dresden-Leipzig and Stuttgart-Heilbronn routes. Old versions work fine.
Please don't give theem one of the worst, laziest, sloppiest ideas in modern UX design. Cursor controls on a stick are truly awful to use. Bungie have a lot to answer for, for popularising them. What is needed is to go back to when TSW had better designed menus navigable with a dpad, before the switch to a tiled layout. It's a reversion of the tiled layouts popularised by gesture control systems like the Wii and Kinect that we need..
The more ‘performance patches’ are released for the Core, the worse the game runs on the Xbox Series X. Blurry textures are already the norm. Now we’re seeing ‘out of memory’ errors again, and the latest routes (with the exception of Tadami) are nothing but a series of stutters. All I can see is that TSW has reached end-of-life (EOL) for the current generation of consoles, or DTG simply can’t cut it (anymore). It’s a disgrace what’s become of the game on Xbox. They’re optimising TSW to death on the console.
[PC/Steam] Drove the BR114 (from Frankfurt-Fulda route) on a service from Aachen to Cologne. The service (RE9 (10905)) is set up so that the loco is driven from the No. 2 cab (the 'pointy end' of the loco is facing the coaches on the map). If set to 'Simple' or 'Hybrid', the AI conductor opens the doors, but on the opposite side to the platform. This happened on all the stations I tested (didn't drive the entire route to the end). I suspect that the AI conductor does not take into the count the orientation of the loco, assuming that it is driven from cab No. 1 and opens the doors based on that. If set to 'Realistic' there's no problem as then the player needs to operate the doors manually.
Are we gonna get back the feature that saved our laying option. Cause its a pain in the butt to keep doing it everytime you log on to play.
It seems that family sharing on steam is turned off for a lot of DLCs on TSW7 on Steam but in comparison the same DLC for TWS6 had family sharing enabled. Was this done on purpose or just something unintentional?
Loaded the game up and did a short MML scenario last night. And once again loaded into the route for everything to be heavily blurred and for sounds to be lagging by 10-20 seconds and I had to quit the game and reload. This bug is getting frustrating now it's happened on WCMLOS, MML, ECW and Riviera for me.
PS5 Layer settings for individual maps still aren't saving; they reset to the default state every time TSW7 is launched. Furthermore, even though not all layers are installed, the game indicates that all of them are active (e.g., 41/41). The AI conductor setting reverts to "OFF" whenever TSW7 is restarted—I’m not sure if this is intentional? Despite several updates and the issue having been reported from the very beginning, nothing has changed.
Yes same on Xbox. So annoying having to faff around with layers every time. If I remember rightly they added saving layers to TSW6 and now for some reason it doesn’t work anymore. Also since the release of TSW6 announcement audio settings don’t save. Matt P acknowledged this back then as an easy fix. All these updates and still basic errors not fixed for over a year is not really good enough.
Yeah, it’s still impossible to actually configure and save the announcements... it’s a bit of a mess, but I don’t get why the layer settings broke... I only have the necessary add-ons installed locally for one map at a time, yet it’s still a problem.
Just logged on to check this. I decided to give 7 more of a go after recent patches, but kept crashing to home screen on PS5 when trying to resume a Crewe to MKC run I started earlier in the week. Finally tracked it down to the layer issue you mention and presumably some related memory issues. Really struggling for any enthusiasm to play this given how many basic features just don't work properly.
Can't find the London Commuter feedback thread so I'll post here. The Class 377/4 1R11 service Reigate to London Victoria has possibly the worst bug I've seen yet. The train goes in reverse, no matter the position of the reverser.
I gave it a try and couldn't replicate your results. The train went forwards and back as one would expect depending on the reverser position. Tested on PC/Steam. If you're on PC, are you using any mods?
On PS5 I can no longer interact with touch-screns/touch-MFDs in "classic" mode since the last patch. At first it was iffy depending on the train and if it was moving or not but now I cant interact with any screen no matter what unless im in "enhanced" and go into view screen. I know it's been mentioned before but it seems it was fixed and then rebroken again by the latest patch. Any other console folks getting the same thing or is there some other new setting that I'm missing?
Same here (ps5). At TSW7 l(and through TSW6) launch only the classic view worked, now it's the opposite
On Steam I seem to have the same issue no medals are shown for any loco DLC So services that are not route specific it is not uniform tough. For example expert 101 is an issue as is the 187 and all cargo lines but not eurosprinter for RT or new Journeys for bakerloo. Tutorials are also exempt from the issue for some reason
PS5. Spirit of Steam. Having trouble getting back to main menu after completing a job. A small movement with the Jubilee completed and a longer than usual time to return to menu. However, just now, after competing an 8f run(14:06 to Bushbury) I had to close the game as it was stuck in an eternal loop, cycling through the screens . The medal was recorded. The map movement is very 'sticky' as if the game is struggling.
The AI conductor could use some work. The feature is great when it works but a little disappointing when it doesn't or does something that slightly kills immersion in some cases. When sitting at a red light in a station, usually I would wait until the signal changes before closing doors, which is procedure on UK railways up to my knowledge. But the AI conductor will close them regardless of signal status resulting in me reopening the doors. If there is a way to program the AI conductor to execute their procedure in phases involving the status of the signal ahead this could be resolved. Such as: At station: Conductor opens doors Finish Alighting: Check signal status Signal Clear: Conductor closes doors Signal Red: Conductor holds The conductor registering what the signal aspect is will not delay the closing of the doors if it is green/yellow, it will still close the doors 10secs early as normal if clear. Though if its not, it will wait until the signal changes then closes doors.
