    Hello everybody,

This is now my third Italian route suggestion, and it is perhaps the most feasible one yet for DTG to bring to TSW. It covers a section of the busy Milan-to-Venice line, running for 115 km (72 miles) between Verona Porta Nuova and Venezia Santa Lucia. Before I try to convince anyone at DTG why this is a great route, I want to acknowledge that acquiring Trenitalia licenses and implementing new safety systems would be tough. However, I believe this choice could attract a lot of new players, making it well worth the effort.

This line would be an amazing first route for Italian railways because it would simultaneously introduce a new country to the game while still offering a good amount of gameplay and traffic (just like Vector Simulations did). The track layout might remind some people of a typical German mainline route, but it actually has a lot more to offer: from the unique scenery as you enter Venice, to the fast quadruple-track section between Padua and Venice, a mix of high-speed and regional trains, freight and shunting in Mestre, and EuroCity services operated by the Railjet.

In my opinion, the ideal rolling stock for this route would definitely feature the ETR 400 (Frecciarossa 1000) to handle the flagship high-speed services. For the regional traffic, introducing either the ETR 521 (Rock) or the ETR 104 (Pop) would be perfect. Other Frecciarossa, InterCity, or regional trains could come later to further fill the busy timetable, although the route wouldn't feel empty even with just two of those as base trains.

Meanwhile, for freight operations, it would be amazing if the route could include the E.193 Vectron, which could haul intermodal container trains, chemical tank wagons, and covered vans between Verona Quadrante Europa, the Padova Interporto terminal, and Venezia Porto Marghera.

Asking for three new trains is a lot, so the Vectron could potentially just be added as a layer. However, giving players the chance to experience a new country in TSW with such variety would surely make it a successful investment.

Thank you for reading! If you would love to see Italian railways, the Venice lagoon terminus or other Italian routes or cities come to TSW, please leave a comment below and share which Italian locomotives or EMUs you want to drive the most!

    Such a beautiful train
I’m lucky enough to see it pass not far from where I live on the LGV Sud-Est (even though I’m not a big fan of the privatization of the railways...).

    I agree ! ;)

It would be an amazing addition because it also runs in France, Spain and soon Germany. If they add it to the game then it could make it easier to bring more French and Spanish highspeed routes.
