Just a few pictures of a locomotive that I've seen today. It's not really a rare locomotive on it's own but it's very unusual for these locomotives to go all the way to Ostrava. I've never got a chance to see this loco other than on a picture or from a window of another train so this was really exciting. btw the station is Ostrava-Svinov.
Very nice indeed it's always nice to catch this rare occurrences when they happen, as they so rarely happen.
Looks interesting. What type of loco is it Tomas9970 ? Is it one long articulated design or is that two separate units?
Technically these are two separate units capable of moving on their own (which is why each of them has it's own serial number) but they are never taken apart. It was derived from the ČD 363 to haul heavy freight trains over the Tatra mountains.
ŠKODA 58E 58E (series locomotives in 1980-1982) has nothing to do with 69E (2 prototype locomotives in 1980; series locomotives in 1984-1990) except for the overall cabin design
Ok. I got that one wrong. ČD 363 prototype (ES499.1001) provided it's at that time superior body which was combined with unique internals.
Us train enthusiasts we do like our details don't we? As I said an interesting loco indeed. The latest colour scheme (in Tomas' images) really suits it.
