Union Pacific's Kearney Subdivision in Nebraska. With three main line tracks running between Grand Island, NE and North Platte, the UP hauls everything from Z intermodal trains to unit coal trains to manifests to long heavy grain drags across this triple track mainline. The triple tracks come together to form two tracks at Gibbon, then proceed east to Grand Island. In total, the route is about 140 miles long, and on either end is a huge yard including North Platte on the west end, which is home to the biggest railroad classification yard in North America. With this yard, there would be plenty of switching opportunities (free roam scenarios at North Platte? A switchers dream!) On top of that, 140 miles of high speed freight would be perfect for long hauls. Included in this route, ideally, would be a C45ACCTE (ES44AC), a GP60, a 3GS21B (GenSet), a ET44AH, and finally an SD59MX. Rolling stock would have to be intermodal well cars, boxcars, coal cars, grain cars, autoracks, centerbeams, and oil tanks (so pretty much all the basic rolling stock components to a new route). This route would make an excellent pair to Sherman Hill. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- C45ACCTE: GP60: 3GS21B: ET44AH: SD59MX:
This would be a great addition to TS20! I previously suggested this route for TSW as well. A suggestion for another loco would be the SD70ACe-T4
I suppose that the SD70ACe-T4 would be a sufficient substitute for a C45ACCTE, as tier 4 compliant locomotives need to be introduced to TS2020.
