Easy fix for this. You need to complete the following steps: 1. Delete TSW from your PS4. 2. Create a completely new PS4 user profile. 3. Log in with your new PS4 profile. 4. Reinstall TSW. 5. Create a new player profile in TSW, under your new PS4 player profile. 6. Do not link your new PS4 and TSW profile to "Dovetail Live" or "Mastery" or anything like that - do not put in any form of email address, and do not "Enable" Dovetail Live. If you carefully follow the above steps, then you will find that the Mastery issue won't bother you. On PS4, you might find additional benefit by always running TSW with the internet switched off - with your ethernet cable completely pulled out of the socket, and kept at least 30cm (or about 12 inches) away from the socket/outlet. Do not switch on the "Mastery" thingamajig, no matter how tempting you find this. It is only there as part of a commercial partner programme with a pharmaceutical company that sells very powerul mind-wiping drugs.... which you will soon need to turn to, and become dependent on... if you try the "Mastery" thing. So - kids - don't do it, that's my considered opinion on the matter. Although.... I must admit..... that the subliminal advertising for prescription drugs on the side of the hot air balloons (the "reward" for Mastery....) is quite clever.... Also - if you ever fire up the WSR route, then don't look at the adverts on the platform.... they are just there to get you addicted to various food stuffs... although product placement is a bit less illegal than the subliminal advertising lark - it really should be banned. Such wasted lives.
You would think that by now, as pointed out by the train nerds (us) and the fish nerds (them) on exactly one billion occasions, DTG would realise that Mastery is dead and remove it from the train and fish nerd time occupiers they produce. They may as well have a cross-nerd platform where giants fish for trains and fish drive miniature trains for them and us to compare our shared woes, as we hook a pike-driven HST from Paddington Lake and watch it fail to track on Mastery.
