I wanna see a UK route with the same amount of loco variety as a German route like HRR.

NTP has 5 with the freight pack, HRR has I think 8 with all the addons.

Well, technically, I guess EC has the most because of the railtour, but obviously one service pair doesn't count.

I haven't been counting but I don't think five is too bad especially as we haven't had any UK loco releases for some time.

Who knows another UK route is probably currently is the planning phase. Or 2020 will be considered the German/American year for TSW 2020. Although being an American I love the amount of content we are getting. I am looking forward to another UK route.

I know at least 1 of you out there is going to quote me and say what about the Canadian route. It's the only exception because it is only 1 of it's kind currently in TSW 2020. So I will not count that.

I suspect the next route will be a UK route, certainly the USA and Germany have had a nice amount of releases lately so I think it will be the UK's turn.

And the other European countries, they do not ask questions.
There is nothing to by these 3 countries, England, America and Germany.
And Switzerland, France, Italy, Eastern countries, etc ...

Well I have always had the impression a lot of Americans seem to be asking for DLC so maybe we are all as bad as each other!

If we EVER want to see DTG not rush when making a route, we have to be a bit more patient, just saying.

Though personally I don't think that would stop them... I honestly think 3rd party DLC filling more of the schedule and outsourcing work will be the only thing that lets the take longer than 3 months on each route. Personally I think that... well, pretty much all the biggest problems with routes aren't due to "laziness" per se, just time constraints

On the contrary, I don't believe we need to do a thing. My belief is they're probably liking the cash flow of fairly frequent releases on 3 separate platforms and they've adopted the business model to try and sustain that. The argument that they don't have the time to make longer routes is proven because the development team probably isn't GIVEN the time to really flesh out a route/loco the way that they would like to. I imagine they're given a short, less than ideal time frame to work on a route before release and then resources are shifted to the next project .. rinse and repeat. Bear in mind this is a failure on management and not the developers.

I don't believe we're gonna see any change until 3rd parties are given full reign to develop for this game on their own without oversight from DTG and I think we all know that isn't happening anytime soon. Whoever are making the decisions up there are doing a piss poor job. Kudos to the devs .. I'd love to see this simulator's potential really shine.

That's kind of exactly what I meant, I'm not sure it's really on the contrary... management doesn't give the devs enough time, so this are rushed. I believe in a recent stream, it was said that they are making these routes in only 3 months.

We really do need more 3rd parties, the difference there is that they manage themselves and can hive themselves more time, leading to a less rushed and/or just higher quality product.

I'm sorry if I wasn't clear. I was contradicting the statement that the community needs to show patience. I think we've been very patient for the last 3 years. The responsibility isn't on us. I agree with everything else you stated and just provided my own take on it.

As we are well into the speculation of what the next route will be, and are fairly certain it’s likely to be a UK route, and because I like to read between the lines of what is said in the live streams, I think the next route will be longer than we have been used to lately, or possibly something we just haven’t seen the like of before. This is based purely on one thing Dmitri said in a stream a while back, can’t remember which stream, relating to how we may have to wait a bit longer for the next route. “You’ll see why” he said. Intriguing.

Yes that is intriguing. Unless it's a real surprise like the first steam engine, but probably not!

A longer route would be welcome.

    Ooh, that is interesting... hmm...

If it is because it is a longer route, I think I have a theory. Peninsula Corridor clearly had more development time than other recent routes, probably for its inclusion as a "deluxe edition" route. Maybe they're trying to make one route with a longer development time each year for each year's TSW release.

But this... still doesn't make sense, because why would it be the next route? I know it's "a bit longer," but we're months away from anything TSW21. Either they're releasing the route for deluxe edition early as its own thing at first, or this theory is wrong

This would be very good if the next route will be longer than what we have been getting in the past.

It's mrchuck, he's always hoping for more LIRR or soemthing. Small route update packages get put out all the time, it's just when they're updated at the same time as an unreleased mystery DLC that it might mean something

    - PZB 90 and DB BR 101 as InterCity add-on for HRR/RRO/MSB/RSN (or as new route DLC)
    - P32 or 40 AC DM add-on as Amtrak or Metro North or Via Rail for NEC or LIRR or OSD (or as new route DLC)
    - BR Class 800 or 802 IET add-on for GWR (or as new route DLC)

I will pay the double for each one of these 3 above.

Don't say that too loudly.... or you will give people ideas... and you might get almost exactly what you ask for - a 100% price increase on all DLCs..... but not the ones that you want... ;-O

The problem with this is that they don't really run on NEC. P40's aren't seen *any*where on the route, while Amtrak's P32's operate out of Penn through a different exit, not modeled. Metro-North P32's join the NEC at New Rochelle, and not before that.

That means that at most, you could drive from Sunnyside yard to Penn station, or from the junction immediatly south of New Rochelle into New Rochelle.

NEC is a weird enough choice of a route as it is, which doesn't help... the SW100R/Metroliner was useless enough, despite being good models... but seriously, there's nothing to do with a P32.

Oh, yeah, on OSD- didn't see that. Maybe, it woyld be a bit more drivable at least... but it would only stop at 2 stations on the route, at Oakville and Aldershot.

I agree, I remember in the past months someone already told me the same about some diesel Genesis locos. My idea is to use a Genesis Pxx xx (xx) who can run (using third rail) till Penn Station. And use this both on LIRR as Metro North service and on NEC as Amtrak (same loco but 2 different liveries). About OSD, yes the Via Rail/Amtrak->Maple Leaf services has only 2 stops, because West Harbor (Hamilton) its a Go Train station but Go Train company dont use the P series locos, but the F40, F50, etc, the same locos (or pretty similar) of Caltrain.

A P32 really wouldn't work on any of the routes we have now. LIRR don't use P32s, and Amtrak only runs them on the brief section of track between Sunnyside and Penn, a whopping total of less than 2 miles, all in a tunnel. OSD also wouldn't really work, as the Maple Leaf runs with P42s north of Albany because of their higher power output. Right now, there's no GO license so the commuter stuff is also not doable, and they run MP40s and F59s instead of Caltrain's MP36s and F40s.

I don’t think so, DTG hasn’t even given us any news on its development, they’ve only worried about spitting out dlc.
