1st i would suggest a br class 101 4car unit.(Meaning take 2 cab units a put 2 passenger cars between them, like they do on TVL which uses 3 car 101s,just add one more car,it's said that there are 4 car br class 101's that exsisited.plus add the 2 axle box car so the class 09 has something else to do.
I think West Somerset has plenty of locos already, there are routes thaat would be better suited imo. If another loco is added to WSR, it should be a steam engine.
I haven't bought the 33 yet. If we could use the 52 etc on other routes then it would be worthwhile, but otherwise, I agree with Marko - WSR has plenty!
We need various machines, particularly the diesel hydraulic classes 14, 35 and 42 but also could bend reality with the 22 and 41. Class 50 or 55 might also be fun as long as any of these are able to be used on other routes as they all deserve being driven at higher than 25mph. Love the idea of a 101.
I'd say that DTG should let us use the Class 40,45 and the 101 if you've bought NTP and it's DLC. These are quite common on heritage lines and would be a common sight on diesel galas.
The 101 on WSR is a good idea, but I would much rather have the 33 & 52 with Mk1s, the 40 & 45 with MkIIs, and the 37 & 47 (fixed) with MkIIIs (from the HST) all able to run services out of Paddington on GWE.
This is a good idea. But the question of this thread was about whishes for locos to be added on to the WSR route. Your idea should have proper place on the forum with its own thread. In that way it would be easier to track all the different ideas.
2 locos I'd absolutely love to see is the BR Class 24 and the BR Class 42 Warship. The 24 sounds brilliant and is comparable to the 33. The 42 is just s generally very unique loco.
WSR has plenty of dlc's already if it gets another one then that's kinda a con because you buy a £20 doc then have 4 lots of £11.99 which is STUPID AND AS I SAID A CON!
WSR as heritage route really deserves steam loco. TSW should have included (at least one) steam locomotive a long time ago. I consider the absence of a steam locomotive in TSW to be a serious failure...
Yes agree would be great adition for the route like WSR. But I would prefered for steam locomotive to be implemented through another route. Would be great if that route be another heritage railway line.
So some routes get completely neglected and WSR gets 5 train add ons. Explain in what way that works.
What 5? Only ones I see for WSR are the Class 33 and Class 52. If you spuriously include TVL's 08 and 31 as WSR dlc then thats 4 but I'm confused as to what the 5 are that your referencing?
In my honest opinion, its not a problem of DLCs coming to WSR, but not at the same time becoming available to be used on other routes as well.
A subject i keep repeating. Good locomotives that end up isolated on one or two routes when they could be used on multiple lines. This shouldn't strictly follow reality so long as the type used the route at some point in the past (eg. Class 52 on GWE amongst many other combinations).
I don't think the WSR owns a Class 101 DMU. However, they do own a Class 115 DMU (which is 3 car) which is a 1st generation DMU built in 1960 and is one of the most frequently used trains on the railway. Class 115: I would highly suggest this as a DLC as it is so common on the railway and this would also add another 1st generation DMU to Train Sim World.
