True and plus the M3 got the body shape of a R44/R46 Subway car which they got they body from the M1 so the MTA been having this design in mind for years :) but truly hope they make a NYC Subway DLCs idc if it’s my J/M/Z line proposal as long it’s a NYCT Subway line.

Unfortunately, the R32’s & R42’s have been Retired from the J/Z lines. To keep accuracy, only the R143’s & R160’s would be featured in this route. (If it’s ever created)

Yeah true but I still want them in the game even tho they are retired more rolling stock on hand Is better then one. R160 and R42 new & old since they run mostly on that line. The rest come later as a addon.

If dtg does late 2000s timeline all trains can be featured. For the 2 retired trains, they will be put in museum which is not funded by mta.The museum will give access to retired trains, which will make better content due to more reference material and public access

Oh so this means DTG would have to get license From the New York Transit Museum, To add those retired subway cars. definitely would love to see them in the game of course I would say The R42 since it ran on J/Z lines the longest had final years on the line.

Very interesting how the M1/M3 are very closely related to the NYCT R44/R46. Built around the same time period and body designs were very similar. The bodys for both were built as a streamlined coach car more than a subway car. Hence the reason why the R44/R46 have 75 foot long bodies instead of the favored 60 foot. This was a new design by Pullman who thought the design was better. However after the last R68 trains arrived it was instead decided to to scrap the 75 foot future cars because issues were found with the seating on the 75 foot cars. That is why the NYCTA now favor the traditional 60 foot subway cars over longer ones. But this might change with the R211.

Yess very interesting and fascinating my favorite trains right now are R46 & R68A and R62&R62A. they a have better unique seating style in the R46 & R68 I think they should have kept those designs to this day they better. The R179 was supposed to 75 foot but they changed it to 60 Bc they wanted them to go to J/Z lines. The R211 Open gangway ones but they most likely going be the same length Can’t wait for those.

unfortunately with the introduction of a new train comes at the loss of an old one. That being the R32 & R46 fleets when the R211 arrives. Even though people are saying the R32 fleet is retired they are wrong but right. They are temporarily out of service but a few are expected to make a return after COVID-19 ends. This will compensate for the boom of ridership when that occurs but the R211 is supposed to put the R32 out for good.

Yeah that’s the unfortunately part about it hopefully we can ride them again before they actually retired forever. R211 gangway one gunna look cool tbh walking through cars like cities over in Europe and Asia! But ain’t coming until 2021 let see how they are in July R211 the future subway cars.

For example, London got an open gangway sets, S7 & S8. Toronto got a rocket for the yonge line (U-turn shaped) & some on the bloor line (east-west straight route). Other cities: Berlin, Mexico City, Rio, Seoul, and much more. Soon, NYC will b first city in America to have open gangway sets.[IMG]

F & G lines I think would be really hard to make as they are decently long and have a lot of other line connections that would be hard to simulate when your making 1 or 2 lines. But it is a good idea I do like those lines as well.

Yes that's true the R32 R44 and R46 have been tested on the LIRR in the past for speed testing.

I also remember the R44 won the speed record with 85-90mph on the LIRR or on the A line making it the fastest New York Subway car. If i'm wrong please correct me.

I Like the G & F lines very short segment outside but it would be amazing To see the F & G line At Smith 9th street that curve when it comes outside at that part, in TSW and West 8st Aquarium & Coney Island stations. Would be pretty cool to see

Yesss you are correct pretty impressive for a subway car can actually reach that speed, when it’s design to go a lower speed.

Coney Island yard complex would be sort of a pain to make though as it is so big. But keep your spirits up it may come out eventually to TSW 2020. A NYCT DLC is on the DTG's wishlist but we don't know if it will ever come out.

Yeah true it is the biggest Terminal outta the whole city if they ever make it I hope that they add all of lines that go there tho if they consider doing that would love To see the West end line and Brighton line. NYCT might be they biggest money maker For they if they make it right, so much to do it. I would rather someone from NYC to help make them game someone who knows the subway all around. I mean Look at LIRR traffic is dead on it.

Notice: How all cars were built with those gates on the sides of the cars.
These were an early form of protection and they also served for balancing the train. All R-type train series from R1-R42 have these gates. With the R62/A being an exception. Any subway car you see with those old school gates was built a long time ago. I believe the R42 had some cars that had R30/R38 gates at one point in time. The R42 even had some R32 gates from retired R32s back in 2008/9. Of all of these trains my favorite is obviously the "Legendary R32". One update on the R32 fleet. As of May 19th the R32 fleet is still active just not in revenue service. This will end after the COVID-19 pandemic is over. Some R32s are still being maintained very well at 207th street yard. So some R32s will make a return into service, For a short amount of time just for the extra trains. But this is subject to change

Definitely gunna miss the R32 it had an amazing run in service over these Decades it had been around. Whenever they have the retirement ceremony for it I hope They Run it on Broadway line or Queens boulevard Line instead of the 8th ave line. It would be nice if they run more then one set of them for it’s final run. R44/46 ends days is coming too in the next 1-3 Years & R62/R62A 5-7 Years. They the only trains that have the gates left After the R32.

The Open Gangway cars are a test. Only 10 cars (1 Full Train) of those will be placed in service. If it passes all tests, unlIke the R179’s, then the MTA will order more R211T’s (Open Gangway) If they fail, the MTA will order non-open gangway sets.

Well let’s just hope it does amazing on our Subway lines. we need subway cars that are open gangway tbh we need more space room to walk through, without leaving the train Cars to get to next car.

NEWS: The R32 fleet has been reactivated due to the whole R179 fleet being pulled again because of an accident with the couplers on the trains. I am really happy that serveral more R32s were reactivated and brought out onto the system. The A/C lines will receive R160s and some R32s. The J/Z lines are going to get several R32s again. I am happy to see the R32 trains make a return to the J/Z lines. The R179s are know now more than ever as the new Lemons of the NYC subway. They have been pulled OOS 2 times already this year.

Even though the R32s have been moved, they've haven't seen service yet. the union doesn't want them in service because of their half-width cabs for both C/Rs and T/Os. so they may not see service.

MTA is in a tight spot Idk if the R179 gunna get retired soon Bc of on going issues with them They have shortage of trains they are lucky we in a pandemic going on subway ridership is down. I kinda actually like the R179s the sound and bright and shiny metal they have heating seats smooth rides. Maybe The J/Z will get R211 since it will have shortage as we get closer to Opening up the city in more stages.

Well that sucks why the drivers don’t get PPE outfit and face shields MTA & Transit Union need design a special outfit for them! Bc there ain’t no other trains To use For J/Z beside the R32. it would be amazing if that was possible an R46 & R68 On they line but lol sadly can’t happen unfortunately.

I think the MTA controls NYC Openbve because they have their own team that helps create in in the NYC Subway Transition Museum.

It’s come back, due to mechanical problems with the R179. Currently on the J/Z. How Convenient...

R46’s don’t run on the J/Z because of the Tight Crescent St curve.

The M would probably end at Delancey Street if it gets put into the game.
