Hi, I would like to suggest 3 locos I would love to see in the game, especially the OSD route. This route needs more trains especially for the mainline services, because having a switcher loco do these services is just weird, the game needs a mainline freighter!

    1: CN GE ET44AC
This locomotive is one of my all time favorites, the legendary ET44AC. CN purchased 286 of these units, and are the latest generation of Evolution Series Diesel locomotives by General Electric. Packing 4,400 hp, this particular loco is one of the latest units capable of meeting the EPA’s Tier 4 emission standards while keeping the original GEVO-12 twelve cylinder engine seen in previous Evolution models, all due to a small hump in the exhaust, housing the exhaust recirculation equipment, which gave them the nickname, “humpbacks”. This locomotive can be seen by many railroads across North America in the US, Canada, and Mexico.

If we do get this unit, I would like for us to have the option to change the paint scheme to the CN 100th anniversary scheme.
    2: Canadian National EMD SD70M-2
The second loco that I’m suggesting is an EMD SD70M-2 in CN livery. This unit was part of EMD’s 4th generation of units (4th since it featured a redesigned 710 engine produced in 2004) and is also one of my favorites. This unit is only different from its sister SD70ACE because it employs DC traction motors instead of AC motors. Both pack a 16-710G3C-T2 engine under the hood, cranking out 4,300 horsepower while meeting Tier 2 emission standards. CN owns 190 of these units, built in 2004, and would also work along the ET44 in mainline freights along with the last unit I’m suggesting, linked down below.

    3: CN EMD SD70I
The third and final unit for this suggestion is the EMD SD70I, an “isolated cab” variant of the SD70M, hence the “I” designation. These units are mechanically identical to the SD70M, with a 16-710G3B engine producing 4,000 horses, the least amount of these 3 units. CN purchased a grand total of 26 SD70Is, making it the least in number out of these 3 locos.

    Final Thoughts
I would love these units to be included in TSW since they will be the first heavy haul locos for console players! They would also open up opportunities for them to be featured in future routes. Feel free to agree or disagree in the comments below!

What about the SD75I? CN had 175.

I like that idea. Heavy freight mainline locos would make OSD much more authentic in TSW. And the console players would have the first heavy northamerican diesel.

If they add these in they would have to make the trains longer that way it is actually a challenge

They would have to only do that separately because each of these locos will have its own individual services to complete, as well as scenarios, so they don’t have to make the trains long for every train in the route, just for the trains driven by these locos.

If we get the CN ET44AC or ES44AC, we should also get CSX and UP liveries as DLC.

The UP ones should have the "Building America" Motto painting.

I definitely like this idea too. Oakville Sub could really use some SD-type locos in it, to better reflect what you would expect to see in the era they modeled the route after (that era about 10yrs back at this point). And making add’l loco sets available for purchase, similar to what they did with the Baby Bullet for the Caltrain route, would give players that much more variety in the routes they already own.

At this point, for me anyway, I’m probably more interested in getting some bigger-gun locos to add to my existing routes, rather than purchasing new routes. But... if a new American freight route comes out with heavy-duty locos in it, I’ll take that too!

Problem woundn't PC be the only ones who could use this. The CSX has one of these 4400 and consle players can't run this type of loco.they can't use the sand patch route.

Actually that was just the route, not the loco. When the route was created DTG programmed it to work only on pc, because at that time TSW was destined to be a pc only game, like TS20. When DTG brought it to consoles, they couldn’t included it because apparently they couldn’t “reprogram” the route to work on consoles, that would require a rebuild, which DTG didn’t want to do:(

But it wouldn't be for Sand Patch Grade. It would be for OSD. People's said repeatedly that console can't handle the original Sand Patch Grade, not ac4400cw.

Great pics of impressive American locos! I would like to see and play them on OSD. The GE ET44AC is very similar to the GE AC4400CW, which is a finished and fully functional loco for TSW (unfortunately only for PC players). It wouldn't be very difficult to create a CN version and make it available as a future DLC. DTG could also add some passenger service from Oakville to Hamilton, there are alredy 6 unused train stations on the route. "Go Transit" uses similar trains like the Caltrain "Baby Bullets", but slightly modified and repainted in green and white. I just saw raifanning videos from CN Oakville Subdivision on youtube where they use the MP40PH-3C, which looks very similar to the MP36PH-3C. ;)

Yes, just that DTG has to record a new prime mover sound since the MP40PH-3C uses a 710 engine, rather than a 645F:)

Completely agree with you Sparmi. Both would increase the authenticity of OSD a lot. It would be nice to see mainline action with the GE AT44AC beside the shifting and yard action with the Geeps. And beside of that GO Train action would be very nice too. I think a heavy diesel and a Go Train dlc for OSD could be a very good investment for DTG, because a lot of us forum members asked for that and would buy it. And it DTG had not to start by zero, because they could use there experiences with the AC 4400, the MP36 and the Bombardier Bilevels.

I think DTG would have not so much effort to simulate the newer version of both EMD V16 prime movers :).
