Used to ride these to school in the '70s. BR Blue and Grey at the time. Could use Hastings Electrics/Jaffa Cake livery too. Both original layout and the refurbs.
Jaffa Cake livery on the 4CIGs here. I'd like the 4CEPs too https://store.steampowered.com/app/275144/Class_421_London_South_East_Jaffa_Cake/ Free Tonbridge-Hastings route and other goodies here. https://backdatedtrainsim.weebly.com/the-1066-line.html
It's a very good route, as good as any quality payware, although I'm biased as it's my home route. The AP 205 Thumper can double for the old Hastings DEMUs. As I said, the 4CIGs would be good, I'd also like some 4CORs and 4SUBs.
Unfortunately there are payware dependencies for freeware routes, wait for the sales. I have bought quite a few simply for use with freeware routes. There are the usual suspects as to which are needed for freeware, for instance the Isle of Wight, the old original Woodhead, and the original Portsmouth Direct. All are good in their own right and very cheap in the sales.
Good Idea for routes like the Chatham main line and the Southwestern mainline from southampton to Bournemouth
Well, my wish has come true. Armstrong Powerhouse have released their excellent Class 411, and it is superb. Just need the Victoria or Cannon Street to Ramsgate route(s) to run it.
AP have withdrawn their 421/423 soundpacks which means they are probably making an enhancement pack or better still a new model 421.
