The Sacramento Northern route is really very good. My only criticism so far is with the marketing, which totally fails to mention (as far as I can see) what I believe is the major selling point - apologies for shouting, but... YOU GET TO DRIVE OVER THE GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE and in nineteen thirties Bob Hegge type DC OHL cars, with the in-cab bridge signalling recreated. If you have a major, globally-recognised, stunning landmark in your simulation, that goes up the top! Jest saying! TanyaJ
Hang on a sec...It isn't the Golden Gate Bridge. Thought there was something shonky about there being an island in the middle... San Francisco has two major bridge structures over the bay! At least! I have learned something! Still, The Bay Bridge (modelled here) is a fascinating piece of infrastructure with innovative signalling. Should be higher in the selling points of this route. Does the Golden Gate have a railroad deck? Now I think of it, isn't it cars one way on top deck, t'other way on lower deck? TanyaJ
It is really amazing what you can find out with Google Golden Gate Bridge has one level for all traffic and pedestrians - my wife and I walked over in 1996 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_Gate_Bridge#/media/File:Golden_Gate_Bridge_SF_CA_North_View.jpg The San Francisco–Oakland Bay Bridge (Wikipedia) Automobile traffic increased dramatically in the ensuing decades while the Key System declined, and in October 1963, the Bay Bridge was reconfigured with five lanes of westbound traffic on the upper deck and five lanes of eastbound traffic on the lower deck. Trucks were allowed on both decks and the railroad was removed Peter
