A 60 mile portion the Alaska Railroad between Anchorage a port city of with a population of 285,000 and the small unique port village of Whittier with a population of around 300.

The Alaska Railroad is a US Class 2 railroad that currently only serves the state of Alaska between Seward to North Pole near Fairbanks. The railroad is currently not connected to the rest of the North American rail infrastructure. Those there is a proposal for an extension that would do so.

The Alaska Railroad transports vital goods to and from the many port connections and industry of the railroad to inland the towns and villages along it's route. Including some special oversized cargo. The railroad also runs it's own passenger and tourist operations.

The state of Alaska is the US's largest state by a great margin. While the state has modern infrastructure in specific areas. Much of the state is very natural and remote. And one of the most beautiful states in the union. With some towns and villages being only accessible by air or sea. Including the states capital city Juneau. The states nickname is The Last Frontier for a reason.

Anchorage is the largest populated city in Alaska. It houses over a third of the states population. The it's port and industry help supply the rest of the state vital goods in a harsh environment.

Whittier is a small port village south east of Anchorage. While small the village serves as one of most important ports in the state which is it survives. Don't to the difficult terrain around the village. The village can only be accessed by land throw a long share rail road tunnel just northwest of village. While trains to and from Whittier are mostly freight service. The village does see tourist trains during the summer months.

The 60 mile route between Anchorage and Whittier is mostly single track with some passing loops traveling along the coast of Turnagain Arm. The route passes through few small villages. At the ghost town of Portage the route splits with one route heading east into mountains to Whittier and the other continuing to Seward.

The route is beautiful. The coastal run south out of Anchorage with the Turnagain Arm one side and the Alaskan wilderness on the other. The route branches off into mountains toward Whittier while passing through few tunnels. Eventually passing through the shared rail road Anton Anderson Memorial Tunnel which opens into the village of Whittier.

The single track route along with the remote wilderness would offer a unique experience compared to the other routes all ready offered in Train Sim World.

Sounds nice although is it possible to shorten the route to 50 miles as 60 miles for DTG is quite a lot, stay hopeful that it will come though.:)

I would love to see it to, although as I say 50 miles is far more likely.

May I ask a question? Is there freight, passenger, or both in this route? I don’t really mind it being just freight or just passenger or both I just wanna know.

Whittier is the closest major yard to Anchorage. Much of the 60 mile is single track with the occasional passing loop.
