Well June is here, that means we’re approximately 3 weeks from the announcement of TSW 2021. Of course, DTG could announce it earlier or later due to COVID and project delays. So I decided to post this thread so anyone can come here and talk about what they want, or expect DTG to include in the next version of the game since it’s just ‘round the corner. Ok, since I posted this thread, I guess I’ll start. For the next version of the game, like what happened in the past 2 years, I’ll expect them to redesign the UI and menus (kinda obvious as what has happened tbh). Another thing, since DTG always includes the “star” routes of the year in a bundle for the next version (in 3-4 routes), I think they’ll include the following: British: East Coastway, North American: CN Oakville, and finally German: either Rhein Ruhr Osten or Haupstrecke Rhein Ruhr. As for a 4th route idk for sure what number of routes they’ll included, so I can’t really say anything for a fourth Route since the previous routes have been already the “star” or included routes in TSW 2020, unless, of course, they add GWE once again. This is just the non-deluxe version of the game, the deluxe (and if there’s a collector’s edition) will include TSW’s next route, possibly a longer, better quality route with more trains included. Ofc ppl speculate that this might not be the case, even tho we’ve seen them do this with the Peninsula Corridor, but other have also said the cross city line might come, even if I don’t really have much knowledge on British routes I only figured out the name lol. Since they started with blue then they went to green, I think the color for the next version of the TSW menus will include something similar to that color, which I think may include something like orange or yellow, according to the color wheel, which, if I’m correct, DTG follows this pattern. Finally, this is kinda off topic but somewhat related, I would like for DTG to forget about mastery and also include a massive bug fixing update with the next version, which, based on current DTG business practices, don’t think will happen, but, I can only hope for various bugs in the game to get fixed. Of course, feel free to make your own speculations down there in the comments.
Just to clarify, there is a 2021 upgrade coming? I have not heard any confirmation from DTG about this? Would love to see it though.
This tsw 2021 speculation, of course thats all we can call it, started a couple of weeks ago on a group im in on facebook, if/when there is any confirmation, i reckon it will be just a copy of TSW 2020, the next route will be a longish one and be used as a main focal point like penn corridor did
There's always a next years version. Just look at Train Sim 2012 through 2020 and no doubt there'll be as 2021 version.
Will this be similar to TS in that if you already own the game it will just update? I own TSW20, will this just update to TSW21 or will I have to repurchase the game? I understand that I would have to purchase any new routes that come along with it!
Mastery to get the boot (or they could fix it, haha no chance) and more info about the service you are about to drive, train weight and length, max allowed speed, PZB mode required, that kind of thing.
Do you think this is why we are still waiting for the next route release? (UK next in the cycle?) Maybe they release the new route along with TSW21?
I would just like to say that if the word "Deluxe" is used for any future pack, then I expect it to be meaningfully accurate. Deluxe DOES NOT mean "includes slightly more than the non-Deluxe pack" ... Deluxe means "of rare and unusually high quality". De Luxe...... Of Luxury. So - I'd like a "Deluxe" pack of routes.... I'd like a set of routes that has had some minimum level of quality assurance applied to it. All of it. Even if it is a slightly bigger pack. Luxurious would be a bonus.... but I'd settle for functional.
I choose fix bugs as there are still a lot of bugs that need to be fixed and would like to see routes extensions as well.
Bug fixes are needed although I would like to see a detailed longer than usual route, that's just my opinion though obviously.
Any speculation on the next UK based route? Any more likely than others? I would personally like something with modern DMU’s (maybe class 150’s - or even pacers!)
Hi 66050, in my opinion the next uk route will probably towards the north of the uk, possibly Scotland with the sprinter and pacer. Although I personally would want it in the South of England on the Southeastern rail network.
Maybe you should put that poll in the route suggestions/proposals since it asks for a vote of route extensioms
In terms of fixes, changes to the skybox would be nice as clouds look horrendous. I also think we will get thunderstorms and lightning as a weather preset.
U don’t have to repurchase, like with TSW 2020, if u own the game it’ll automatically update to the latest version.
Well, Dmitri said that “we’ll see why” the next route’s gonna take longer, which means that possibly it’ll be the spotlight route of TSW 2021, which means it could be longer, and could have more trains in it than current routes.
I’d be happy with any UK route if it included those trains! A lot of people see the new class 20 as a ‘classic’ And are super happy to see it, but to me it was a little bit disappointing, pacers and sprinters are the classics in my eyes! I would love to be able to drive these in TSW
The Class 20 isn't just classic. It is iconic. And historic. A real ground-breaker. Much be-lov-ed and held in high esteem, in... um... highly esteemable places..... Um.... The sublime lines of its bodyshell placed it at the forefront of future railway locomotive design. If you were to give it a Type Number... it would be No.1. You'd call it a Type 1. Nothing expresses the sheer Britishness and Railwayness as much as a Class 20. It's a machine that is evocative of a much-missed bygone era of excitement and splendour. A passionate machine, but cool to the touch, with flawless execution in its duties. The Class 20 has earned its place as the 378th Wonder of the World, just after the other 370 truly iconic classic bygone locos we've seen in TS1 and TSW.... LOL. ;-)
Just a quickie does anyone know to configure overlays on the Xbox One by any chance or how to unlock/access it
I’m not expecting anything that exciting so I don’t get disappointed later And also so I get hyped when they announce the stuff they will
Probably a free update to TSW2021, but if you want the new route (if there is one) you gotta pay an upgrade price for that.
It's going to be ..... a relaunch of the TS Rewards Scheme......! Yay.....! Free rolling stock......! Something like this: https://dovetailgames.kayako.com/Knowledgebase/Article/View/172/12/ This is... of course... pure speculation. I would just like TSW to get a blue DB BR 155 with UN Armoured Jeep-carrying flats.....
About 10 minutes to go. I'm excited to see what it's going to be. I really hope in the future that they would add the London Waterloo to Portsmouth line on the console version of the game
I hope they are going to extended the South East Coastway line so you could go from Brighton to Ore for example in a diesel locomotive
