No look closer at the TSW website wording. Matching the colours of a BR Blue Intercity 125 on the Train Sim wording and either LNER or Virgin Branding on the World.com?
What do you reckon? could be a HST pack coming or a new route such as the East Coast Mainline...... possibly

Ahhh those colours make sense! Didn't DTG go to Virgin a while ago? Saw a forum post about it... It will be good to have another UK route

Strange that it's set not for just a day but also for a very specific time!

Only too happy to be wrong!!
The colours as you say I think are the biggest clue. Would love to see a BR blue/interCity period.
Does anyone know any other countries/routes/operators run those branding colours, I know NS run yellow and blue but the red/grey/black as well?
Guess we'll know come tuesday either way.

They’ll show a graph with trains clearly going up a steep grade and a politician will tell you to your face that they are going down a gentle slope, and no train or grade specialists will be in the room to tell the truth. Ooh, satire.

I know which one I’ll be watching, it will be the TSW announcement.

    What a surprise and mistery!...
As I am new to the sim , I would like to ask, if other DLC was announced this way?
The last ones, no. Like the M3
May be Im wrong,.. but could this be something bigger?... I mean TSW 2021!...
2020 was launched at mid August last year.
Yes, I know, we are 2 months left. But we are an special situation with Covid.
We are spending more time at home. So more time to use it!
    I think could be possible,,,
I also notice the colors... It could be a new DLC too, but hope an important and requested one.

I think social distancing has been in place on most of TSW's platforms for quite some time! They can be a bit sparse. ;)

I hope and I don't know if I could be right but I really really pray for a long route. Would love LNER azuma or a class 43 or something even. In my opinion it will be ECML with two settings. Modern day and old.

Just had a look also on website and seems they follow British, American, German etc. Then back to square one. Also they release locos it seems before routes. Would just love something I can spend hours in

Overall I think this is an announcement for Train Sim World 2021. But I seriously think this is also HST (class 43 Intercity 125 related).
Look Closely at the Trainsimworld.com wording. In that I can see the following liveries:-
    Inter City 125 Original Livery
Anglia livery (i know the 125's never ran in Anglia colours....)
    Virgin livery
I also see Intercity express or Intercity Executive livery
and finally either South West trains or East Midlands Railway livery.

Im not sure about the 9th June 2020 wording though. Your thoughts?

Do you see anything to suggest that in the teaser pic? Do any of those colours relate to any possible routes?
Serious question as a few of us have speculated above about what it suggests so your input to your post to back it up is beneficial.

I have been looking at this image for two days.... and I can now clearly see.....:

    - a tall dark stranger is going to come into my life offering bad advice
    - my near future won't involve travel to any exotic locations
    - I shouldn't make any rash decisions about my career or my lovelife
    - I should keep an eye out for the number "43" and then consult a doctor about my health
    - the weather is going to get warmer, so maybe I should buy some T-shirts

Just noticed the image in your post is different from the original OP one.
Whereas yours has the passing blue/yellow/white 'HST' colours (that's what I'm calling them!!), virgin, Intercity and LNER colour streaks.
    Screenshot_20200605_212201.jpg
The original OP image omits the yellow/blue/white in the trainsimworld text for another red/white.
Both legit? Or simply more intrigue?!

The two images have the same background, but a different aspect ratio. The square one looks better on mobile phones, the wide one looks better on widescreen displays... etc.

analyzing the launch times I believe is clearly not a US route. 4AM, does not seem a good time for a launch on Pacific time.
I guess now, it will be like mentioned above... it is an UK route with the new Hitachi trains for GWR and LNER, considering the colours.
Let's see tomorrow if they surprise us, with something different.

Doh! Yeah get you! Cheers. Wider one does provide the better clues I think. Provides a much better aspect for the colour swishes.

I don’t think we’ll ever see virgin trains in the future as they removed them from Steam for TS

    READ THE FULL FAQ

    • Why Train Sim World 2?
Train Sim World 2 is a new simulator for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4, separate from any previous Train Sim World experience.

We need to bring Train Sim World forward, and by advancing the engine and evolving SimuGraph® we can add new features and more types of train simulation.

Train Sim World 2 includes high speed and longer freight for the first time, and sets our future sights on Steam Engines, Multiplayer and more.

      New features include:
      • Scenario Planner
      • In-game Livery Designer
      • Adhesion Physics
      • Preserved Collection for Add-Ons
      • New Dovetail Live features including Driver Logbook, Online Debriefs and Railfan Shots
      • Immersion Features
      • German High Speed
      • The London Underground - Bakerloo Line
      • Sand Patch Grade – arriving on consoles for the first time and bringing significant gameplay upgrades for PC
    • Why are you not upgrading our game like Train Sim World 2020?
We need to bring Train Sim World forward – advance the engine, evolve SimuGraph® (Dovetail’s own physics engine that powers Train Sim World), add new features and capabilities for more types of train simulation such as High Speed, long freight, and in the future Steam Engines, Multiplayer and more.
    • What is the Adhesion feature?
Adhesion physics brings wheelslip and wheelslide to Train Sim World 2 depending on rail conditions and driver technique. Feel the slip of wheels in adverse weather, master moving heavy freight and keep control of your loco power on steep inclines!

    • What Routes and Locos are in Train Sim World 2?
Experience German High Speed for the first time with the Köln Schnellfahrstrecke route driving the DB BR 406 ICE 3 and DB BR 442 ‘Talent 2’.

Discover the world-famous London Underground with the classic 1972 Mark 2 Stock on the Bakerloo Line, a route requested by huge numbers of players.

Enjoy the epic feat of engineering on powerful haulers like the AC4400CW, GP38-2 and SD40-2 on Sand Patch Grade

    • What is the Livery Designer?
A new in-game tool available on all platforms that allows you to personalise your Train Sim World 2 locos and create your very own custom liveries. Easy to use, utilising a mixture of shapes and layers, it will allow you to craft both simple and complex designs to bring your own liveries to life within your Train Sim World 2 game.
    • What is the Scenario Planner?
A new in-game tool available on all platforms giving you the ability to create your own scenario. Customise locos and destinations, then jump in and get driving. Quick drive, your way.
    • Can I make a livery or scenario to share or sell?
The Livery Designer and Scenario Planner do not have sharing options on any platform, so your designs are personal to you alone. These designs or plans are not available to be sold. However, you can photo share your creations through the new Dovetail Live Railfan Shots feature.
    • What do we mean by Immersion?
The new immersion features of Train Sim World 2 include:
      • Clearer information on instructions, progression, gradient and speed profiles as you drive
      • New HUD displays, clarity to the onboard safety systems, brake controls, power meter and accelerometer
      • New Immersion controller scheme designed to simplify common functions and make them more readily accessible, as well as removing distracting pop up menus in both the Camera and Driving modes. The Classic controller scheme also remains available to use, as it is in Train Sim World 2020
      • Easy access from external camera mode to enter another vehicle in your consist, all while full physics and simulation are still running.
      • Streamlined game start, automatically taking you directly into the next stage of your last service or scenario
    • What is Preserved Collection?
      Your collection comes with you.

You can play your Train Sim World 2020 Add-Ons in Train Sim World 2.

    • Why are you preserving my Add-On collection?
Train Sim World has always been about your collection, your choice of Add-Ons from your favourite region, time-period, diesel, electric, passenger, freight – your way.

We’re ensuring that you can continue to enjoy your collection in Train Sim World 2.

    • Will Add-Ons I already own be free in Train Sim World 2?
Yes. Your purchased Add-On routes and locos from Train Sim World 2020 will be free to download and play within Train Sim World 2.
    • Will Preserved Collection Add-Ons be upgraded?
The preservation work may bring some performance benefits depending on your platform, but they will be as they are now. Preserved not remastered.
    • Can I keep both the original and preserved content?
Yes. Train Sim World 2020 Add-Ons will continue to work exactly as they do now.
    • Will my progress and save game carry over?
No. You can play your Add-On routes and locos within Train Sim World 2, but your existing save data will stay safely within the original Add-On for Train Sim World 2020.

You can continue that progress anytime within Train Sim World 2020, or you can begin fresh in Train Sim World 2.

Dovetail Live will track all your progress from both games and their Add-Ons, including your driver level, online logbooks and driving debriefs.

    • Will Train Sim World 2 overwrite Train Sim World 2020 in any way?
No, they are separate games and will both play independently.
    • What languages will be supported for Preserved Collections?
The same languages will be supported as the original release of the route or loco Add-On.
    • Will support be continued by Dovetail Live?
Yes, Dovetail Live will still be your web destination for Mastery, community and playing stats, along with a few additional features we’ll reveal soon!
    • When will Preserved Collections be available?
We are working to bring your collections online from the launch of Train Sim World 2.
    • What’s new about the Sand Patch Grade route for PC?
Sand Patch Grade is new to consoles for this release, but has also been optimised and updated for PC. We’re adding 14 new services covering switching in Cumberland Yard and 2 that add grain traffic to the route. 3 westbound autorack services now have helper trains added and there will also be more flexible control of what train you’re driving. The AC4400 has wider use on services than ever before and you’ll have better control over what livery the locomotives use. Train weights now use a new ‘weighted wagon system’ and loaded trains will require significantly more skill to manage.

With the addition of Adhesion physics and all other optimisations for Train Sim World 2, we’re confident you’ll find much more to do in Sand Patch Grade on PC.

    • Why no steamers?
Train Sim World 2 is the large update we needed before we can get steam engines right. We won’t release any until we can be sure we’re going to do them the justice they and you deserve. Steam locos will need another engine upgrade to make sure that particle effects do justice to performance and visuals, as well as a bespoke SimuGraph® upgrade to handle the unique experience of steam locos. Sound recreation is very important, as is detailed training and in-cab support during gameplay. It’s a very large jump from passenger and freight, which we have concentrated on perfecting so far, and high speed – a key focus for this year. After this we’ll continue our work towards steam.
    • Can other people create routes and locos?
We are already working with a small group of talented developers who are making routes and locos for Train Sim World. In the world of multi-platform development it is much harder to do this… We are happy to hear from you via our Third Party Publishing team (partners@dovetailgames.com) if you are experienced at developing in Unreal Engine on PC and console platforms.
    • What new Add-On routes and locos are coming?
We’ll be revealing our new release roadmap for the first time one week before the launch of Train Sim World 2.
    • Will new Add-Ons be released for Train Sim World 2020?
All Add-Ons released after the launch of Train Sim World 2 work in Train Sim World 2 only. We have to do this in order to take advantage of the new features of the sim. Preserved Collection will mean you can bring all your older Add-Ons to Train Sim World 2.
    • Why don’t you have THIS route?
There are a vast number of factors that go into deciding what route to create. We focus on great destinations and locos that are exhilarating to drive with plenty of scenario and service mode options, the right licenses and access is also key for a great route or loco. It takes precise and detailed development work from signaling, track laying, loco art, SimuGraph® connection using many resources, direct access, blueprints, visuals and discussions with the license partners to bring a route to life.
    • Where is the full PC Editor?
The Livery Editor and Scenario Planner are the first step on our journey towards releasing more comprehensive tools. It’s our hope that as many people who want to get creating for Train Sim World 2 will be able to do that, whatever gaming platform they are on.

Releasing the full editor on PC is a far more complex process than it was on the original train simulator. To begin with it requires a full download of the Unreal 4 Engine itself and then there are number of other unique plug-ins of our own, such as SimuGraph® and others, that are critical to building both locos and routes.

We know from both closed door testing and working with experienced third-party developers that this isn’t an easy editor to use and until we have resolved these issues, we are not going to release anything more widely.

    • Where is Multiplayer?
We want to bring Multiplayer to Train Sim World, and we now have a design that we think will give a great social experience. It’s been crucial to design based on the experience of the mode, bringing the right roles and communication to our online experience. Multiplayer is not part of Train Sim World 2, but it’s on our future roadmap.
    • Will there be TrackIR and Raildriver support on PC?
Not at launch - however, we’re already working on bringing TrackIR and Raildriver PC support to Train Sim World 2 within 1-2 months after launch.
    • What about UE5?
We are so happy that this is now in the public domain and it vindicates our decision five years ago to build our hobby on the UE4 platform. It’s a perfect engine for simulation and that will only continue. We are not announcing anything for UE5 yet, but the next few years are going to be very exciting.

Just got access to the live website awhile ago... it’s been banged on so hard this morning, I’ve been getting server errors like crazy. And all of the news about Train Sim World 2 is fantastic! As someone already wrote, this is big- really big... and it sounds like many of the issues people have with the current sim will be addressed in the new version. Not to mention having high speed rail in the sim and CSX Heavy-Haul available for consoles. Bravo, DTG... I never saw anything like this coming- can’t wait to get my hands on it.

After noticed what this intriguing date was about, I have a mix of feeliings.
First of all, on my first post about i, mentioned this was not only a DLC it should be something bigger, so I was "almost" right.
I believe it was related to the launch of TS2021, but finally it was even greater! Is the second generation of the game!.

First of all, I would to say, this current TSW simulator, for me it is the best train simulator ever... by far!
But it is not perfect, and what could seems to be "negative" comments, are not that kind.
They are just my opinions, and suggestions, so my way to collaborate to improve this simulator.
I know this is a very complex sim, and it is not easy for developers to do what everyone is requesting!

    1) What I really likes about it:
    - It is second generation of the game, with several improvements as they mentioned.
    - All the DLCs we have to day, will be playable on the new gen sim and for free! That is really great!
Even if we have to re-start them, if it is ok my understanding.
So we will have 3 new routes - at least for PS4! Meanwhile PC ones only 2 but improved. - plus the other we already have!
    - We on PS4, finally will have a US heavy freight route!
    - The ICE3 is included!, One of my favourites trains! It is something I was waiting for.
    - The fact we can made our own scenarios, and repaints! This feature I believe is very important!

    2) What does not like it me at all. (This just mean I will prefer other solution)
    - Despite of having finally the US heavy frieight , it will be the same as originally launched.
Surely they will launch lately new DLC with different route of this kind.
    - This one is related with previous one. The heavy locomotive we will have.
The AC4000CW, is a great locomotive. But it is not the common one in the US!
I am referring specifically about the bogies! They are different from the common GE ones!
They are used only - I believe - by CSX!
Why do they selected this one, and not the other GE ones used by other rail companies. Even CSX uses both type of bogies!
This also affects the new feature off repaints! If you repaint the CSX to BNSF or UP or whatever, the bogies will be wrong for those companies.
    - The London Subway, in my case, does not like it very much.
Of course this will be great for other forum members.
    - The expected modern UK route, was not included unfortunately.
Probably it will be offered as a DLC later.
    - I was specting something new, I could buy inmediately.
The 2 months wait for this new launch, is too much!...

    3) Things we do not know yet
    - The key one: The cost of the new sim!.
    - We will have new HUD But do not know more details about it.
One thing I would like about them, is they must use less "space" on the screen.
Current ones, might be closer to the border of the screen, and be smaller. Thus is, in order to have more view of the cab or the train.
    Furthermore for better screenshots! ;)
    - The lenght of the new routes.
I do not know why TSW never indicates the lengths of the routes.
This is a very important data in order to decide to purchase a route or not.
May be I am wrong and it is mentioned somewhere. But I could not found it.
    - Stations names and position and other important points of a route, must be included in the map.
This will be important for making an scenery.
    - Other requested issues be included?
Like vehicles crossing the rails, moving crossing gates, and other details that improves the experience.

As they mentioned not always can achieve what is requested due to legal, chances to develop and visit the place, etc. So I understand that.

    What do you think?

This is great news. Now I don’t want to get myself over excited yet with Scenario Planner feature. I am not sure how that feature works. With Scenario Planner, will I be able to create additional timetable for my routes and save them? It is nice to be able to get routes I purchased and bring them into TSW 2.
