Pretty sure, it'll be announced on the site first (hence the website on the teaser image). And then on the Thursday stream, there will be some answers to the said announcement.
Wherever it's going to be, I think you will get notified on the forum as well. edit: Or by some nice person on this thread.
That's a shame. I still have some hopes for multiplayer. If they just fix up Mastery or something (unless the Mastery fix is really substantial) I'll be very disappointed though. I don't really care about Mastery to be honest. Unless I'm just playing normally and happen to get something Mastery-related or I did everything else already and have nothing better to do in the game, I just don't bother with it. I feel like intentionally grinding for something so small is not worth it.
I just hope it's going to be related to the simulation aspect rather than some game-y elements like Mastery and Journeys.
I still think its TSW 2021. They've hyped this to much for anything less than that. Edit : Plus a route.
I actually heard from someone that contacted DTG about steam trains and he got the answer that it would be to complex to add into TSW and that it would never be added (in TSW) for that reason. I don't know if that's true but that's what I heard at least.
I’m not sure they said they would never add it. But I doubt the first steam train will be the announcement
Well, the day is here, so all of you will have to bring this anxiety party to an end soon. Hint: isn't June 9 a bit early to announce next year's TSW?
If it's the colours of the Swedish and Danish flags then I get why there's white in there. If it's for the colour of the train then it's probably not a Swedish route. *EDIT* They did post the announcement on the Danish national day (5th of June) with Sweden's national day being the day after (6th of June). Could be a coincidence but the timing together with the colours could mean something...
That's what they said according to him. They could've changed their oppinion on that since then though
I'm going to be ballsy and say retroactive bug fixes.... But my real guess is a new route. Looking at the colours: I have no fkn clue.
My last bet is a rebundle of existing routes and a new skin for menu. Additionally we might get some special feature that nobody wanted.
I'll take my cynical hat off since I have been ranting for better adhesion since the beta. IMHO this upgrade that can be considered as paid core feature DLC is way better than totally stagnating product and the FAQ brings some hope for the future. Bakerloo line is also quite interesting route for me.
OMG I'm genuinely over the moon. This is more than I could ever of wanted. An ICE route is fantastic (as long as it's long enough for a good run). I love the Baker loo line I ride on it in real life, very happy about that. I personally dont enjoy freight, so that's a little disappointing for me, but if you like freight then I'm sure youd be very happy about that. All in all I'm........impressed.
So are we gonna have to pay for TSW2 as a separate game? I can't believe they didn't address that in the Q&A
For those that cannot read between the lines of the FAQ: The TSW 2 is going to be a paid simulator for everyone.
Be sure to dive into the FAQ before posting any questions, but if you need more clarity on what's coming please post a question. One thread, many threads, makes no difference to me. Have fun.
Train Sim World 2 is a wholly separate game. Yes, you will need to pay for it. We haven't set a price yet (because that's the next question) and will announce it as soon as we do.
This is entirely, 100% inexcusable. NOTHING AT ALL about TSW2 justifies existing owners of TSW needing to purchase an entirely new game. This could have been an update to the existing game. Say what you will, but this just cemented Dovetail Games as some of the lowest scum in the video game industry for me. This is unacceptable. I will be pursuing refunds for TSW on Steam.
Updated physics engine. Adhesion. Livery creator. Scenario creator. High speed rail. That's a pretty solid update there. Of course this all hinges on the $$. Hoping there is an "upgrade" option for existing owners. Edit: I'm also hoping "advancing the engine" means a newer UE4 version. The current engine has several limitations, i.e. shadow draw distance.
Well... I'm both excited and disappointed. Excited for the new features, sounds great! Dynamic skies Variable physics, finally simulation weight and grip properly (hopefully) Small parts of an editor, liveries and service planner. ICE!!! I mean... ICE!!!! Yessssss. But I'm disappointed it's a complete new game. I would have preferred an upgrade instead, having to buy the game again is a bit of a let down. Although I can understand after such an engine upgrade.
DTG have done something that I'm really really looking forward to. Some people just have to complain.
Ok, the only positive thing about this is we get a new british line without a BR Loco. Yeeeeees. But I am not interested in German High-Speed - not my style. But honestly Germany Again? Never mind, other then that we have to pay again mhhhhhh what should i say ...
Well - they've now done the reveal for Train Sim World Part Deux.... .... and no Train World Railfan 2021 in sight..... not even a hint of sausages, or any fine cured meats.....! So the Press Release was a decoy....! Shocking...! ;-) Well - I am going to go out and get myself a kebab, to help me deal with the disappointment of it all.... EDITED TO ADD: I am joking.....! ;-) ............TSW 2 looks rather good..... ;-)
I respect the audacity. However I have a concern. will this be your trend - re-releasing over and over whenever you want to move forward? or are you using the lessons from the move over to Unreal to correct things that were done badly in TSW and create a ONE TIME BASE GAME purchase you will use as a foundation for the next 5,6,7...10 years? sure the re-release method works in some genres, like sports, but for a sim that relies exclusively on DLCs it doesnt. just want to know what TSW2 is beyond a "evolution" - TSW was an "evolution" what makes this more than a 2 year tech demo?
Does anyone understand the scenario editor? Does it mean we can make our own custom routes with our preserved locos or does it mean we can make our own scenario on a route ?
A new game to buy but it comes with three new routes so I can see it being good value for money if it costs less than £50, which I think it will. Only two new routes for PC but console players not having CSX up to now is kind of balanced out with this. Plus a load of the features everyone has been asking for. And a new Dovetail Live tracker that won’t work properly. What’s not to like? I knew it was something big but I wasn’t quite expecting this. I was hoping for a London Underground route at some point and they have chosen the right one, in my opinion, and earlier today I watched some youtube videos of CSX:HH just in case that was coming to console, which I’m sort of on the fence about at the moment. An ICE route is often requested, so I’m not overly surprised to see that. If TSW2 is the improvement we need to get better physics, longer routes and steam then it is a huge positive step forward. And it includes the editor on all platforms too. As much of an editor that is required as far as I’m concerned, although I’m sure lots of other people will be raging that it’s not a proper editor. My biggest question now is whether we will have to wait until this releases for any new route, as in no more releases on TSW after the Class 20.
Remember that stream a few weeks ago when Matt cryptically said that it would be a while until the next route is released and "you'll see why?" I think we have just seen why
