I’m really interested to see how this will actually work. Whether it is an actual editor where we can make personalised scenarios or whether it’s a basic from A to B via XYZ. I hope we can adjust the AI traffic frequency to make a busy/quiet line as well as setting lights and what stations we can stop at or pass through etc.. I have already started to prepare some custom scenarios for the Bakerloo Line on the basis the scenario maker is pretty in-depth.
Well, it's good to be optimistic.... But I think that what is being offered is just a "Quick Drive" function, where you can: - select some rolling stock, and maybe a suitable consist; - select a start location (A); and, - select an end location (B). ....and then, run your train from A to B, with no traffic, and no caution signals. That is my expectation. Anything more would be a bonus. The "more" bit that I would be generally interested in is whether you will be able to run the Class 33 on Sand Patch grade, if you have bought the Class 33, for example, under the original TSW. For the Bakerloo line, I'd hope that you could select sidings/depots as start/end points. And.... I am hoping that there will be a battery loco and set of flats to run engineering trains, with juice on or off.... (please be true... please be true..... please be true....) ;-)
I prefer to think of it as expectation management. I've had enough prospective scenarios binned because sidings weren't electrified, AI didn't work or simply consists didn't exist in game... The OP might be thinking of a full length BL run but the route may only be the underground section, or it could be in a different timeframe to their expectation (the stock has been in use a long time after all) etc etc
I hope when you can make your own scenario that you can also make a scenario that a train has a malfunction and needs to tow away with a other train.
It's a quick drive maker (Says so twice in the blurb) so I doubt it will be that complex, but you can but hope
Your wishes have been granted.... - you can add AI trains - you can customise routes/stopping/etc It will be more than "Quick Drive"...... - but you cannot compile your own consist
Based on what I know I don't think this will be the case. I'm guessing this is due to the difference between the two seperate titles. But do not quote me. Maybe Sam will answer this.
So what’s the point in sticking our current collection in TSW2 if we can’t do anything with it? Might as well just leave it in TSW1.
Matt said they haven't tested it to death and he believed the main issue would be with electrification rather than "will it work". So I don't think we got a definitive on that one. Certainly they answered whether a huge train can fit on a small route (it will work, but will hit everything)
So they expanded on the scenario editor, it sounds promising but I’d still like to know whether we can set red lights, etc.. on our routes
From the brief statements given we learned a few things The scenario editor is a graphical interface on all platforms. You can set time of day You can set start, end, stop points... they didn't mention go vias You can do this for your own consist, you can do this for AI, you can mix stoppers, fast and freight You can use your own designs from the designer, but only one of them So from that I would say that you could stick another consist in front of yours, make it a stopper and yours be regional or fast and you should get adverse signals. EDIT - just looked back, you can't use your designs as yet, but they're working on it
