Nice to see a new Canadian Route, but disappointed to see only 1 new locomotive. Would of been nice to see something like a cowl unit or something else.

Seems like it has potental, new rolling stock (GP40W, CN thrall coal hoppers) but yet again its a mountain pass route. I hope this won't end up like some of Mileposts other products like Peace River or Raton Pass and come out with little fanfare and quickly forgotten.

Hype! The route looks amazing but I hope the locomotives have been upgraded since I can't stand those ancient Kuju sounds.

For anyone interested, Milepost Simulations posted a map showing what the route will be covering.

No transcontinental passenger train in that route!! Surprised to see that. We do have VIA #1 and VIA #2 The Canadian in that area. It would be nice to have them included. Look forward to the release of this route when it's available through Stream.

I think the reason, if this is accurate, is there is only 1 station on the route in Jasper.....

I suppose they could have you begin or end the scenario at a signal, depending on which direction you're going in.

i'm wondering is that the only cn locomotive milepost simulator can use for cn routes the sd40-2w and modified verson of sd40-2w from DTG. DTG won't allow milepost simulator to use dash9 or sd70m-2? i know the route era is set to 1980s.

It would be nice if perhaps, Milepost Simulations or another dev could include VIA Rail equipment separately!

So a bonus of this route being made is that Travel By Train will be updating their CN SD70.
I wonder if those Illinois Central logos will stay on the locos though....

Yes I understand that the only station stop is Jasper but would be nice to have transcontinental passenger train to run on this route. I have been on that train to Western Canada.

question? i was looking on google earth at jasper back in 2003 and it looks like they had turntable there. then later they removed it. now since the era for this route is 1980s i guessing it might have turntable in jasper?

Well, this certainly is interesting, might be a buy, but we'll see. Although it all is supremely close to the Hinton Train Collision of 1986.

Mostly just a thought that spontaneously came to mind after seeing the GP40W (although a GP38-2LW was involved in the accident), the era, (1980s), the rolling stock, (grain hoppers and that CN caboose), and even the area, (the accident occurred at the eastern end of the route).

Maybe I'm trying too hard to find excuses to add steam, but after watching some of my older Pentrex, DVD's and doing some research for a Youtube video a quite a while ago, I found out that CP 2860 and CN 6060 pulled part of a doubleheaded excursion over this route back in the late 80's. Perhaps the two locos (Especially 6060, since it was based in Jasper during that time) could be added as DLC for this route later down the road?

What will this route give that Canadian Mountain Passes doesn't? It looks to me like a similar Canadian remote mountain freight route. Sure it's got different liveried locos, but how will the driving experience be different? The type of scenery and level of detailing looks much the same as what we've had before.

Only real strong differences are the railroad involved and era the route is set in (CMP set in mid 2010s, Yellowhead Pass set in mid 80s). Milepost never goes all out on scenery detail (sadly) and sometimes it makes the route feel like it was a product made in the early 2010s rather than now in 2020. Also its a mountain pass route, something that almost of all North American routes made for Railworks are.

Looking at the map above there seems to quite a wide valley floor by Jackman and multiple routes which looks like it's different from the linear Canadian Mountain Passes.
