The Penistone line from Sheffield to Huddersfield ( when you leave Huddersfield towards Manchester in NTP there is a gap in the tunnels. That's the line.) And at Barnsley a Branch to Leeds. There are 3 options for the Leeds line. Express (Wakefield only) stopping ( via pontefract) or both. There is also the option (very unlikely but maybe a futere route) of a branch from Meadowhall to Doncaster. (TPE miss Rotherham to the right on that extention with norhtern calling at all station) The trains I would like to see include a pacer (142 or 144) we had all of the pacers!! And a sprinter, a 150/1 or a 158. The Noteable stops include; Sheffield, Meadowhall then missing several, Barnsley where the line splits. Then Penistone to the east where the line is a double platform in the midst of single track. And Huddersfield. Then to the North from Barnsley Wakefield Kirkgate and Leeds
- Highland Mainline. HST's, loco's on the sleeper (which I think would be interesting to model in the game), freights, railtours and DMU's. Great scenery too. - WCML Lancaster-Carlisle. - The Cumbrian Coast line. With class 37's on the short sets as operated by Northern. Plus DRS freight services and DMU's. - The Aire Valley line; Leeds-Skipton. This would provide commuter EMU operations, DMU's, railtours and some freight, - The Hope Valley Line. Nice scenery and a fairly busy line. - Sheffield-Leeds via Barnsley. - The North Yorkshire Moors Railway, all the way to Whitby though please for some faster running and then you could include the Northern service too. - The West Highland Line. - Skipton-Lancaster - Leeds-Doncaster.
the branch from Barnsley to Huddersfield is what I was talking about. It's my local line so good hearing others are interested in the other part of the line. Sheffield to Leeds might be a bit short
I think Sheffield-Leeds would be about the perfect length. I can understand your intense local interest in having the Penistone line, but there isn't too much to it in terms of operational interest with it just being a passenger only branch line. Perhaps a historic version could be more interesting for that line, such as when the Woodhead line was in operation perhaps.
Sheffield Leeds would be too short, the "branch" to Huddersfield would make perfect sense thank you very much. Think of all the creative scenarios you could make.
