I think this little scene is new. I don't remember seeing this scene before.

Maybe they decided to give some areas more detail? I mean we know they touched things up, because they changed one of the rail crossings, for example.

Also the distant hills and trees seem to look much better.

Hills and trees are on purpose. A new scene is not officially announced. Maybe some got bored during lunch time and did this. Let's not blame her...

...on that note, why'd they do that? The original was more accurate!

Perhaps they just haven't ported over ALL the crossing models yet...

I don't know. Is there any chance that since then they installed a newer crossing gate to that location in real life as well?

Nope. Here's a video from someone taken only a month ago showing the crossbuck-only crossing:

Looks more than a patch of sand though, that's more like a hill.

I can't tell what you're respondong to, but if you're saying that the crossing in the video is a different crossing than the one with gates in the TSW2 picture, look at the Mance Post Office, they're clearly the same location.

Hmm, it's really weird then. I don't see the point in purposefully making the scenery less accurate.

I don't think it was purposely.

Personally, given that there's... no... real reason whatsoever to change the crossing, I'm guessing they just haven't imported all the crossing models over yet or something? Remember, they had to change the crossings to make them static, so this probably happened somewhere in there.

I was having a giggle, I was referencing that tiny sand bank where construction is happening. Bad joke. :(

Oh! Sorry for misunderstanding you, don't worry, your joke is perfectly fine, it just flew over my head at first, that's all.
