Anybody knows if there is graphic enhancement mod for train simulator2020? If the answer is yes, where can l download them? Thank you!
There are Paid for Graphics mods such as RW Enhancer - google it What are you trying to achieve? Peter
Such as the color of the sky, light and shadow enhancement, or the enhancement for the vegetation next to the rail
Well, for skies and weather theres the Armstrong powerhouse weather enhancement pk For overall "look" theres Reshade and Railworks Enhancer
From my experience so far, RW Enhancer pro, Armstrong Powerhouse sky and weather enhancement pack, combined with Reshade (using fake HDR, colourisation and anti-aliasing) produce good results and really enhance shadows and general lighting, however, the quality of the trackside foliage and other smaller details remains a headache for me personally, if I could replace all of the 3d trees with better, more realistic models that didn't reflect light like they were made of plastic and didn't have leaves that are ten times the size they should be, I'd be a happy man. The track side foliage needs some serious attention too, it's just not to scale, has very little variety, the colour saturation is ridiculous and it lacks realistic variety. I fully intend to explore options to sort this out, someone's got to try.
AP Sky & Weather Enhancement pack is not really just a graphical enhancement (although skies do look better), it just adds so much more atmosphere. Watch this 11 minute video as a Thunderstorm rolls across Carlisle station. (turn the sound up). It just makes the whole thin so much more involving. If you like the sound of thunder... crank up the volume.
Every time I look at images or videos of RW Enhancer, it just looks like it adds skies with blown out highlights and everything has a soft focus filter on it.
RW Enhancer is fully configurable, and can be tweaked to perfection. Check how my latest config looks: Did a WCML North run with the APT the other day. Ordinarily WCML North looks its age, but with RWe, AP track and AP weather it just gives it a bit of a more refined look. Plus the APT is mad on bends at 125mph
I haven't heard of RW Enhancer before, might get it, WCML North looks totally different on that video. I have the AP Weather pack, haven't got the track enhancement pack yet.
All the media I've seen must have been made by the kinds of people who turned up colour and contrast to full back in the CRT television days then. That's quite subtle... I like it. Is there a frame rate penalty?
What's the difference between the Pro version and the normal version of RW Enhancer? The website doesn't really give much away.
I'm currently uploading the APT-P video on the WCML North, just waiting on a class 313 Moorgate to Drayton Park to finish processing then I'll post that here for you to check out. The frame rate penalty of RW Enhancer is variable - depends on the effects you use and how strong they are in some instances. I use SweetFX too, just for Godrays, Bloom, FakeHDR. There are some performance saving options available in the config for RWe too. I recommend RWe Pro, as it gives a more fine grained control over everything on offer.
Dunkrez Thos videos are amazing!!! Any chance you can publish your RWEnhancer Pro settings as a Preset File (.xml) somewhere that we can try? Thanks PeterH
As promised, please find attached the RW Enhancer Pro config. You'll probably need this at some point: https://forums.dovetailgames.com/th...-max-performance-and-visual-quality-4k.18396/ And also, these may help: If you have any questions, please give me a shout.
Here's the video of the APT on WCML North. Considering that the route itself is around a decade old (2010/2011?), and has a lack of tunnel occlusion, the mods really help it along and it's quite a lot of fun to thrash along in a tilting train. I leave the frame counter on (shift+z) so that I have a view on how well my pc is churning frames out. As an aside, why have older routes never received an upgrade to feature tunnel occlusion throughout?
I have RW enhancer and re-shade (re-shade I use for TSW) - It's just a shame I can't get reflections to work on wet surfaces for TS1 like I can for TSW.
TS deserves good reflections, whether it be glass on a coach, or standing water and wet weather. Be amazing to see this implemented properly.
I think it is because DTG do not benefit from changing older routes unless there is a problem which needs sorting When WCML-North came out there was a set of buffers part the way down one of the platforms at Glasgow Central I think an update fixed it but not for a long time Peter
I'm highly surprised that updates don't occur. It's almost like every release is a throwaway product.
I can't use it with default settings... it's horrible. Highlights bleached out.. loads of silly blooming and fake HDR tonemapping. I just want the occlusion, lighting and reflection benefits... and the ability to desaturate the tired foliage.
That's what I've tried to achieve in a nutshell really. As close to TSW as is possible with a decade old engine and some sticky tape.
We need TS2022 or whatever to use the unreal engine ... but then no one would buy TSW. Does anyone else find themselves using TSW less and less these days?
I think I'll just stick to TSEnhancer. I can't get to grips with FX Sweet. Can you give me an example of what I'll gain by using it specifically?
It just pushes the quality a little further in the right direction. Deband, Godrays, Bloom and FakeHDR are what I'm currently experimenting with, there is no right or wrong way to set things up. Really, the ultimate solution would be for DTG to upgrade the TS engine. But I'm happy with this as an interim so I don't have to use TSW.
You sure that's Sweet FX? I don't have anything like that. What I have is a zip file that you unzip into your game folder, and you change the parameters by editing a text file. There's no GUI or anything. I also can't get it to make the slightest bit of difference to anything. Also, the parameters I can change don't seem to match the ones in that screenshot. I must have something completely different.
Home key does nothing. There's no mention of the home key in the documentation either. It's as if I'm using a completely different piece of software than you. All I have is a .zip file I unzip into the game folder. All adjustments are via a .txt file. Does this sound familiar? If so, what directory do I unzip into? I'm assuming the Railworks folder.
Ahhh... I get it now. You're using SweetFX via Reshade, yes? Got that now. I press home and i get a list of shaders I can turn on and off, but cant work out how to actually make adjustments.
Sounds about right, toggle features on/off with the list, underneath the list should be available parameters for all enabled effects.
Yeah.... I had performance mode on, so they were hidden. All set now... looking NICE! I found a selective colour shader to make the vegetation colour look WAY more natural. As for TSEnhancer, I used your load out as a basis, but increased reflection a bit, but turned up lighting, as your lights at night were REALLY dark ( I suspect you don't do much night driving). I'll upload my settings and some screenshots tomorrow... getting late now and my eyes are bleeding with looking at the screen for hours on end. Thanks for all your help! David
Here you go... ...as you can see, my frame rate has taken a good kicking LOL. It's in the mid to low 20s now. Oh well... time to upgrade from the old GTX980 I think. My monitor is only 2560x1600 so I ain't got the resolution you have, but I think I've got it set up quite nice for all weather types now. Mods used: AP Sky and Weather Enhancement Pack, RWEnhancer Pro, Reshade (plugins used and settings applied in screen shot below.)
Who can make a mod to replace a stock terrain shader so it will adopt textures higher than 256x256 ? I'm ready to donate it. PM if You can.
I know a couple of other games have overlays that add stuff like nVidia DLSS, would it be possible to add such a function to RWEnhancer, or does it need the ability to access the core somehow?
